I honestly didn't expect I'd enjoy this as much as I did. I was only going to watch six episodes, but I ended up finishing it in one sitting. I came here for the handsome fox spirit, but I stayed for the bond. Don't expect much story from this. The only focus of the anime was the random shenanigans that happened in the life of Kokkuri and Kohina. The familial bond developed between the characters were so sweet and funny to watch. I like the type of humor used and the savage dialogues. It was just a light watch. I'll try reading the manga in
...
the future since it's complete because I want to see more of Kokkuri and Kohina.
In terms of art, I found it adorable. Kohina is usually in doll mode, and the others typically switch between their human-form and animal form. The human-forms are good-looking, while the animal-forms are so cute. I usually have a crush on fox-spirit characters, so that's a bonus.
In terms of the characters, I liked Kohina and Kokkuri. Kohina is such a mood in her coping mechanism. You can see how much she doesn't want to acknowledge her feelings because she's scared to explore new territories. On the other hand, Kokkuri is such a wonderful fox spirit. There were times where he was a bit weird, but you can feel how much he cares for Kohina. I love their bond. Inugami was a bit too weird, but there were rare times where I liked him. Shiragaki is hiding his personality - he is adorable, but there are times when he was too pervy. The other characters weren't that necessary, and they don't contribute much to the plot except for comic reliefs. There isn't much progress to the development of the characters, but I guess you can't expect much from a twelve-episode anime.
NOTE: If you don't want to stick for the whole twelve episodes, only watch the first and last ones. They were the best, and I enjoyed watching it a lot.
SHOULD YOU WATCH IT: If you want something light, heartwarming, and your type of humor involves savage dialogues, stupid interactions, green jokes, then yes.
WOULD I WATCH AGAIN: I probably might, but I would skip some episodes.

I thought I would like this a lot more than I did. The story and the dynamic between the lead characters had so much promise. Sadly, it wasn't able to deliver. For a 24 episodes anime, the pacing was slow, and honestly, nothing much happened. It felt like most of the plot points were introduced, but they didn't play out well. Don't get me wrong, the build-ups and side stories were interesting to see, especially in the first few episodes. However, the conflict felt lacking, and I somewhat didn't care about them. I was disappointed because I liked the setting and the lore used. The
...
fairies were intriguing creatures to know about, and I wish that more information about them was shown. The backstories of the lead characters weren't elaborated. We got some bits of information here and there, but it lacked coherency. The main thing I loved about this is the visuals. It was very pleasing to the eyes. There are also funny scenes and heartwarming scenes, so that helped. I think the source material would be better with dealing with all of the plot-wise stuff, so I think that it would be better to try that.
In terms of art, I loved everything about it. The character designs and the animation of the magical scenes were beautiful. I was able to appreciate everything about it. Also, there are times where Elias turns chibi, and I found that adorable.
In terms of characters, it was a bit lacking. Elias was a very intriguing character, yet sometimes he just served as comical relief. Also, I wanted to know more about how he became the magus that he is, but we didn't get that. We mostly just got angry and unreasonable, Elias. I get that he's still trying to understand human emotions, but it happened multiple times, and it pissed me off. Chise was the epitome of a self-sacrificing character I disliked the most. She had a hero complex, and she didn't care about how it would affect her and everyone around her. It's good that she wanted to help others, but I dislike it that sometimes it is at the cost of her life. It's like she forgets that she has a limited lifespan most of the time.
In terms of the relationship, sometimes it was a bit weird. I like the relationship between Elias and Chise, but sometimes I get confused. Are they father and daughter? Lovers? Friends? Family? Sometimes the distinction gets blurred, but hey, the title is bride, so I guess they are lovers (or soon to be at least). There are also some disturbing dynamics about their relationship, especially with Elias buying Chise. Still, their relationship with the other characters was adorable, funny, and great to watch. Sometimes it was also heartwarming, so there's that. This is true, especially with Silky.
SHOULD YOU WATCH IT: If you like fantasy, then yes. Still, I really suggest trying the source material instead because the anime would just give you more questions to ponder after watching it.
WOULD I WATCH IT AGAIN: Maybe if someone wanted to watch it with me. I think the animation is worth sticking for.

If you came to this anime because you want something with a story, this is not the anime for you. This anime is one of those that you decide to watch when you don't want to think about anything. Absolutely nothing happened with the story, we only get to see the relationship between the characters develop. The first few episodes were wonderful. The setup between the characters was shown, and I wished they could've stayed as children a little while longer. Afterward, we saw them in the academy interacting, and it just felt like fun fillers. We got to see them use some magic, though,
...
so there's that. The last few episodes were the downfall for me. It tried putting a little more conflict for the characters, but it didn't even feel threatening or dangerous. Mostly, it felt irrelevant and stupid. Still, overall, I enjoyed watching this. It was funny and entertaining at times.
In terms of art, I liked the scenery. Even though it didn't look realistic, it looked beautiful to me. The character design was adorable but inconsistent. There are times when they looked weird. Sometimes the character design and the background clashes because of how simple the characters looked compared to the background. Also, I got annoyed because of how much focus was given to Katarina's forehead. I was glad that it lessened over time.
In terms of characters, most of them were okay, but after getting their confidence, nothing much happened to them. If you like dumb/dense, but likable characters, you will enjoy most of them, especially Katarina. Her helpful, humble, and friendly nature was pleasing. However, for a protagonist that's supposed to die or end up getting exiled, she was the densest and most unobservant character here. Her nickname, Bakarina, really suits her. Her only priority is food, which is honestly, relatable. I was exasperated with her. She was less annoying here, though. I wanted to hurt her in the manga, and I've only read nine chapters.
In terms of the relationship between the characters, I enjoyed their bond. They were all adorable together. Most of them helped and supported each other a lot. I get that this is a harem, but I just wanted most of their relationship to be platonic. The harem was very entertaining, especially since it doesn't discriminate between genders, but there were times that it felt too much. Some of them were quite obsessive and clingy. Also, if you expect there to be any progress on the romantic aspect, you'll be disappointed.
SHOULD YOU WATCH IT: If you think you'd enjoy something that doesn't really have a storyline, or you don't want to overthink, then yes.
WOULD I WATCH IT AGAIN: Honestly, no.

"The feelings of others are a mystery to us. You shouldn't assume you have someone figured out."
The story was okay, but something about it felt unoriginal. I can't pinpoint what it reminds me of, but the feelings it gave me felt familiar. I enjoyed the first half of the film. The feeling of having a hard time living your life when terrible things happen a lot was relatable. The decision to become a cat, which is free from troubles, is something probably most of us want. Running away from your problems is easier. However, the latter half made me angry. The way the
...
story came together felt like random scenes were just put up together, and the motivations of the characters, mainly Muge's, was terrible. There was also a lack of backstories to solidify the situation and actions of the characters. The ending felt like they just decided to finish the story in the happiest way possible without thinking about how sudden it looked.
In terms of art and music, it was okay. The characters looked normal. The main thing going for them was the sceneries. If you came here because of the cats, only Taro was likable. All others felt creepy to me, especially the merchant and Kinako.
In terms of characters, only Yori stood out. She was such a beautiful person, and I hated how she was treated. Hinode was okay, but his decisions weren't consistent, and his development wasn't outstanding. I hated Muge's motivation in life. She was too focused on Hinode to think about others and the consequences of her actions. She didn't stop to think about how others would feel about what she was doing. I got devastated about her situation, and I understand what she feels, but she didn't deal with it properly. Also, many of her actions were creepy, cringe-y, and stalker-ish. She had acknowledge her issues in the end, but everything there felt like they happened too fast.
The relationship between the lead characters felt like they were forced together. This was sad for me because I liked them in the beginning. They had potential. It would've been better to me if we saw their relationship gradually develop, or if it was just implied that their relationship would develop. Also, we should've gotten more backstories as to why Muge was in love with Hinode in the first place. We just saw her being clingy to him immediately, which made things more cringe-y. For me, there's a fine line between having someone as your motivation in life and being obsessed with them, and sadly, I feel that Muge fell into the latter.

"If I don't have to do it, I won't. If I have to do it, make it quick." (Houtarou Oreki)
I usually enjoy a slice-of-life anime, yet this one had such a slow-pace. I didn't hate it, but honestly, nothing happened at all. Most of the episodes after the first major mystery felt like fillers. Twenty-two episodes were too much. The story was okay, but most of the mysteries they encountered felt anti-climatic. They were mostly mundane things, but I guess the point is the rush of solving them.
In terms of art and sounds, I enjoyed the visuals. KyoAni's animation is always stunning,
...
and Hyouka was no exception. I love that the simple scenes were brought to life by the art style. The visualizations of the character's inner-thinking and the brightness in the eyes of the characters when they have intense feelings were some examples. The sound effects brought to life the narration, especially on the mysteries. I also liked the minor details that were added, like Houtarou's bedhead and Satoshi's drool. The only issue that I had was the lack of originality in some of the character's design. Many of them reminded me of characters from Beyond the Boundary or some other KyoAni creation.
In terms of characters, I feel conflicted about them. There were some aspects that I liked about them. Their issues and doubts on how to live their life was relatable. Houtarou was such a mood. However, most of the time, they seemed bland and unenticing. All four of them felt they were just there. Just stagnant in their current state. The lack of significant character development pissed me off. I guess that's because of the short timeline and setting, though. Still, I wanted them to have made at least some minor firm decisions in life.

Nothing new with the story, but it was okay. I enjoyed watching the bond between the main characters develop. It was beautiful to see the friendship between someone who was the opposite of each other. I don't know if I wanted them together or I just enjoyed their bond, but the important thing is that they were able to make each other happy. For me, that was enough.
Since you know what would happen from the start, it just gave a bittersweet feeling. I still don't know what to feel about how the whole thing played out, but I didn't hate it.
There are
...
two things I learned/felt from the movie:
- Don't just imagine scenarios in your head. Try to see how they would play out in real life first. Make an effort to at least try.
- Nothing is sure in life. Value each day and do your best. Make each day enjoyable.
In terms of art, it was simple yet beautiful. The characters looked alright, but nothing stellar. I got slightly dizzy at the end part where Sakura was narrating her diary, but I liked that it followed the aesthetic of the Little Prince. I'm not sure about that, but that's what it felt to me.
In terms of the characters, they were okay. I liked Sakura. She was fun and cheerful. However, underneath all that, you can feel that she's just hiding her worries. She didn't want to worry about her future, but it was still nagging behind her mind. However, there were times when she was annoying and didn't respect boundaries. Haruki was adorable, but there were times when he was dull. There was nothing wrong with how he was living his life, but you can feel that he was just afraid to try something new. I'm glad that we got to see him try new things and enjoy them.
Overall, the movie was simple, but it was meaningful.

I didn't have high hopes for this, and that was a good thing. During the first half, the movie was quite okay. I enjoyed the bonds that developed between the characters. They felt like a family. However, when the conflicts were introduced, it felt too absurd, unrealistic, and unconnected. I really don't understand why it had to be Hina and Hodaka's problem. Also, the police aspect was too much. Moreover, I think that the story had some flaws and plot holes, especially about Hina and Hodaka's backstories. Some parts felt like they were just randomly inserted in between scenes.
The art was still
...
beautiful, and the music was okay, but it wasn't really that impactful. Some scenes felt lacking. The music didn't make me want to listen to it again after the movie.
In terms of the characters, most of them were okay, but I honestly didn't care about them. The main characters aren't really that likable. I think that Hodaka is stupid, impulsive, and immature. He only does what he wants without thinking about how it would affect the future and other people near him. Hina was alright, but she felt shallow. There's not much to her apart from being the sunshine girl. I didn't really care about their romance.
Overall, I think that the story was okay, but it had flaws, wasn't really that impactful, and the characters weren't stellar. It wasn't on par with Makoto Shinkai's other works.

I enjoyed watching this anime for the pureness and heartwarming feeling that it gave me. Kobato was an adorable character. I loved seeing her relationship with others develop, especially with Fujimoto (although, Fujimoto was a jerk in the beginning). She truly wanted to help others, even if it doesn't help her mission. I just wished that it wasn't emphasized in almost every episode that she's kind of dumb and a klutz. It wasn't necessarily bad, but they just did it for comedic effect, and you get fed up with it. You might find it annoying at some point. The character I truly loved is Ioryogi.
...
He's funny, but he tries his best to push Kobato, and call her out when she's being dumb.
The story was more character-driven, so you won't necessarily see a progression in the plot. Sometimes it felt repetitive, especially since most of the issues that Kobato encountered focused on misunderstandings. If only they talked about it on their own. You can feel that the anime has 24 episodes, meaning its kind of slow-paced.
I wish that there were more discussions about the different worlds that exist within this story. They were only briefly mentioned in the anime. I wanted to know more about the Celestial World, Nether World, and the Spirit World. Also, it was never fully explained how Kobato ended up in her situation. We never fully get the extent of what Kobato's wish really is. Just tidbits. I honestly felt a little bit confused by the end because of the lack of it. I only found out about more backstories through the Wikipedia page. It would have been better if they included that in the anime. Although, we can't really fault the creators of the anime because the manga was still ongoing when it was adapted. It's intriguing to read to manga just to find out more about the story that wasn't included in the anime.

If you looking for something funny, this one is for you. It was entertaining for that aspect. However, that's all there is to it. I don't think there's much substance to the story and the characters. Most of the episodes felt like a filler. The story was supposed to be about Hina, a girl with psychic powers, yet she rarely used it. It focused more on the everyday lives of the different characters introduced. To be honest, somewhere in the middle, I got bored. I just finished this for the sake of finishing it. It wasn't that bad, but it wasn't engaging. Also, sometimes the
...
humor comes from the pain of others, and I didn't really like that.
In terms of the characters, they were all right. However, I didn't get attached to any of them. They felt quite shallow. This is probably because most of the emotional scenes that were shown were usually followed by something stupid. There were many filler type characters introduced. Most of them were useless or annoying. Sometimes both. Also, some adults here aren't trustworthy. They are disguised by the comedic nature of the show, however, if you think about it, they are quite problematic.

I love the theme of the game they went into. It just wanted to help mothers and their children get closer. I enjoyed seeing the point of view of a parent and a child about the issues they encounter with their relationship. We got to see the darker and lighter aspects of raising a child and being a child. I love the bond between Mamako and Masato. However, many inappropriate scenes were shown, especially with Mamako and Masato. Most of it was not children friendly, and it was disturbing to me. It totally ruined the wholesome theme because some parts were kind of hentai-ish. Also,
...
the traumatizing things were downplayed.
The story was okay, but it wasn't exciting. I don't think much happened throughout the twelve episodes. Many of the scenes had a mixture of being funny and annoying, but more on the annoying. Tbh, I kind of felt like I lost some of my brain cells after watching it. Many things were so absurd.
I don't think it added anything new to the Isekai genre. Still, I found the fantasy elements cool, and I wished there were more of it. There were a lot of talks that happened during fights and its kind of annoying.
Mamako is hella awesome when she's wielding her weapons. I just wish that there were more fight scenes since that's one of the reasons why I decided to watch this.
In terms of the characters, they were kind of alright. However, the issue is that most of them had an annoying trait or traits, and some you wouldn't even care at all. I am honestly amazed that Masato is not one of those teens that's horny as hell, and that's why I like him.
