With such an interesting title, I really didnt know what to expect. But the first 5 minutes of this show set it up for some interesting plot. The visuals are great as well.
But by the end of episode 1 I felt like it would be a typial hero story of some sort.
But as the story goes on you see how the main character develops over time based on the people he is with/fights. That whole episode with the teacher and his kids disappearing made this show a bit more than just a ... typical shounen to me.

I watched the dubbed and the voice acting fit really well. The tones and inflections were great for each character and kept the drama up. Each character seemed very believable.

I found it interesting how the MC wasnt too overpowered and in episode kinda gets his a** handed to him. His struggle with the group that wants him to join keeps the tension high. (im sure they just want him so he'll be an obedient dog)

The OP is decent, just typical. The ED has a groovy beat for sure.
The little mid-episode cut that just says "C" gets on my nerves.

short review here, but overall the series has an interesting premise, delivers good character development and doesn't fall short with the music and voicing.

This show had such great potential.
Its got a great premise but fails with its characters.
Its just simply medicore..

It does have great music and wasn't bad enough to drop it. And some of the character design were decent. The art in general isnt awful but seems pretty basic.

The beginning starts off interesting but provides a bit too much cute factor, and then brings in the dark stuff within the first few episodes. But never really goes full 'dark mode' until later on. It gives you hope that its gonna be a cutesy magical girl show, but destroys it ever so slightly.

None of the characters IMO were ... likeable, except maybe hargore alice, and only because of her backstory episode (i wont spoil it) I feel like without having read the original light novel Im missing general empathy towards them.

The only thing I dont have a gripe on is nano's ending song, its a good relief from mediocrty.


I do like what characters they kill off when they kill them off, instead of keeping 'main' characters and 'evil' characters in trope form....

In all honesty this series would be a great AMV series....
