Story that involves a MC that is swept into a mistery against is will, but soon he takes on the role of the Hero to try and figure out eveyrthing that's going on with whats happening, with new twists and information constantly appearing. Set of characters that increases little by little, with the Hero's "Squad" increasing as the chapters go on, with previous villains becoming part of it as well. Main BBG that is a psychopathic evil guy with misterious intentions. Also has a female deuteragonist of sorts that has balls, fights against the system and is smart, although reckless.

I know the plots are completely different but the feeling that both the anime transmit are the same. Both anime start with the main characters living a happy life when they both enter a new world (for mahou shoujo that would be the world of witchs and SOA the online game of the same title) that at first both those worlds feel like paradise, full of hapinness but soon after they realise not everything is as good as they tought (even though in SOA this happens way faster and right on the first episode) and after that they live in a life full of dilemmas and bad choices and with that their worlds are turned upside down. Not only that but both anime openings depict the protagonists in what you can say is their final forms and they only appear in those forms in the ending of the anime (I am just speculating that this is going to happen in SOA but I am pretty shure that the anime is gonna develop in this manner).
