This short really brought me back to Detroit Metal City, not only the silly yet hilarious setting, but also the gags, wacky animation and in general the short yet fun anime. Quite liked both and this directly reminded me off DMC!

...then you might like Kyokou Suiri add

I must say that both these series have a lot in common, not only from the general "detective" style case solving but a whole lot more from having characters to atmosphere, to even the pacing of episode and story details. Having an anime where a full episode can be filled by the main character just talking very technical without it getting boring is an amazing something in any form of media. And that's what I directly found that it had a great similarity for me to Gosick and the other way around. Both anime franchises are therefor really close and have a great similar setting!

If you liked Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu add

...then you might like Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai add

From the first couple of episodes Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai really reminded me a lot of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu. Not only is the setting and concept quite similar but the general flow and feel of the characters, topics and arcs just made me really remember Haruhi quite a lot. From remembering the endless eight to just the general bunny outfit, it was just great to see a very unique yet similar anime to Haruhi again!

...then you might like Shinkai no Kantai: Submarine 707 add

Submarine 707 especially in the beginning of the original OVA really resemblance parts of what was shown in Fushigi no Umi no Nadia. The Atlantic vibe with the half alien like submarines that were also shown in Nadia directly got me hooked on it and gave me some really nice memories back to Nadia. Really interesting anime series in general with a nice focus on submarines and underwater combat.

Like the sequel ova "Shinkai no Kantai: Submarine 707" which was actually made before this short series "Submarine 707" had a very interesting and quite the resemblance with Fushigi no Umi no Nadia. The various characters, environments and underwater combat really payed off, this especially in the sequel to this newer prequel. This was a really interesting start of the series and it is always interesting to see a series make a prequel to something that was created in the past.

Chibi lifeforms living their daily life in nature peacefully! Not only does the chibi art style remind me of these series, but so does the general atmosphere and wonderful environment art!

School tugs with both MC's having quite unique faces and personalities! Found both settings of these OVA anime quite interesting and similar.

If you liked Binchou-tan add

...then you might like Hitorigurashi no Shougakusei add

These anime are both about a "small" individual taking care of their own life, having a similar and peaceful atmosphere together with the loveliness of each episode just makes up for a fantastic series!

If you liked Mushishi add

...then you might like Mahoutsukai no Yome: Hoshi Matsu Hito add

The monster type elements floating around and being objects in Mahoutsukai no Yome, directly reminded me of Mushishi with that not everyone could see these elements/creatures. Both stories are quite different in terms of atmosphere and character progression though. But still wonderful on itself.

These two anime series both involve supernatural beings, which also could be referred as youkai or in the other case as mushishi. Both these series have a very unique atmosphere and pacing and are definitely a great watch.

These two anime series have both the same kind of setting where a young man/student can see youkai and has to live with them. Both have a unique atmosphere and are definitely a good watch if you liked either of both!

If you liked Aria the Animation add

...then you might like Amanchu! add

It's quite clear that both these anime have the same director/author because of the atmosphere, setting, character, pacing, ost and in general pretty much everything feels similar. These two anime series are a great example of slice of life, and while Amanchu shows a more real life example, Aria sure has its own strong points in this area. So if you liked one of this series, you can bet you'll also like the other!

For me Kurozuka had a very similar atmosphere to Jigoku Shoujo. While obviously the stories are completely different the setting and atmosphere gave a slight hint away to Jigoku Shoujo.

Shisha no Teikoku and Steamboy are both set in an industrial/steampunk era. The type of story development is quite different, but both have a similar vibe to the setting which is pretty unique to these two movies.

While being different in story development and action, both these anime are set in an industrial/steampunk era which does give it their unique setting. They're still pretty intense for their own story and do deliver a pretty solid experience when watching them.

In these series the main female protagonists wear Gothic Lolita outfits and both have a dark and mysterious atmosphere.

Dantalian no Shoka and Chocolat no Mahou have various similarities which makes it for me also very lovely as not only do the main characters have that Dark/Gothic Lolita outfits, but both series also have that dark and mysterious atmosphere around them which makes it both series really lovely if you like these kind of settings.

The female protagonist of both series are very mysterious and are similar in terms of character and the way they talk. Both series contain the concept of a sort of contract in return of something else, and have a very dark and mysterious atmosphere.

In these series the main female protagonist wear Gothic Lolita outfits and while Gosick is more dark in terms of story than Chocolat, both do contain a very dark and mysterious atmosphere.

These series are both focused on car racing, while Initial D is more focused on Street/Drift racing, Goddamn is focused on Rally racing. Both series are pretty intense and definitly a great watch if you like intense car races!

As well as they're both created by the same producers so the art is very similar.

These two series are both amazing space operas, not only are both made by Matsumoto, Leiji, but the setting as well is quite similar, the feeling you get of the atmosphere from both space battleships the Arcadia and the Yamato sure make up for an amazing ride of an intense story! So if you love space related anime and the work of Leiji then these anime series are definitely for you!
