Bleach has always been a mediocre show overall, some high points and a lot of filler. So far the 5 episodes I have seen are decent comparatively speaking and it is worth checking out. The pacing, animation, and voice acting are all pretty good and enjoyable. The story is a bit incoherent but that's no surprise, I'm still failing to understand why Uryu wouldn't simply explain what's going on to Ichigo since they found time to talk while fighting anyway. The original was much better, the dialog and personality of Holo wasn't endearing or insightful in this and instead came off as smarmy and condescending while being vapid and borderline idiotic. I've noticed this trend with female characters in newer anime, insufferable nagging and mean spirited with a lot of misandrist type nonsense. They are usually portrayed as stronger - physically and/or magically etc., more intelligent, more wise, and more competent. I'll keep this short and sweet.
One of the better anime series' I've watched, one of the few I've watched again and actually enjoyed instead of watching it because I was bored and wanted some background noise. I'm surprised it has such a low score, so I figured I would take the time to give it a positive review. It has one of my favorite themes - vengeance and righteous fury. Nothing more satisfying than watching effete and decadent shadowy elites who manipulate and deceive, drug dealers, and actual scumbags, get the justice that they deserve and so often escape in real life.
