Watcher beware!

I knew the anime was going to have a lot of sad moments from the numerous memes online that meld this with other classics like "Angel Beats", "Clannad Afterstory", "Little Busters", and "Anohana". I was ready for some feels, but instead all I received from 7 episodes was a ludicrous plot and forced tragedy for the sake of creating forced pain and drama.

The whole plot that surrounds the idea of androids that have a set lifespan/memory/personality but are fully treated in every way as a human, especially emotionally, is just plain annoying and not even remotely believable.

Why would anyone invest so much ... emotion into an android knowing they exact date they will leave you and why would anyone allow them to raise children or act as surrogates for family members?

I tried to suspend my loose grip on reality so that I can try to enjoy this anime full of demented logic and plot holes, but I just wasn't able to suspend reality to that extreme.

I really did give "Plastic Memories" a full shot, but in the middle of episode 7, I promptly dropped it and am much satisfied with my decision.

I'm not a hater of tragic anime. Heck I've watched "Grave of the Fireflies" and have kept a somewhat faith in humanity even after watching it. "Plastic Memories" just made me not want to emotionally invest in any character once you understand the plot premise because you just know how it will go. People will emotionally invest in androids that will "die" on a specific time and you will be hurt.

SLOW pacing but nice story with a good ending. It just takes forever to get to the end.



Fast review concerning the set up of the anime. Although the anime is great, the way it's set up is very frustrating. There are 203 episodes in total, but new content time is much less. The reason for this is that during the last 2/3rds of the series there are VERY long recaps at the beginning of each episode. Then to make each episode even shorter, there ... is a vignette or a type of skit after the ending credits which sometimes last close to 5 minutes. Because of the short time that NEW material is shown, the plot develops at a snail's pace.

Sometimes it's just about 5 or 6 minutes into the show when new content is finally presented and then for only about 10-15 minutes before the ending credits and vignette/skit. Don't forget, occasionally there are complete recap episodes and filler episodes as well. Overall, the anime series is a lot shorter than the episode count suggests.

Final note, if single fights that last like 10 episodes annoy you, then give Hitman a pass. There are quite a few fights that last many episodes due to flashbacks and the "Oh wait, they aren't defeated quite yet" moments. What content that is there is great, but sometimes you just feel like weeding through all the blah to get to it.

So, I was in the mood to watch a light-hearted anime focused on the moe antics of little kids such as fighting over a toy or dealing with their crazy imaginations. For the most part, this anime delivers.

Overall, this anime is very light and will leave you with the warm fuzzy feelings of watching cute kids dealing with everyday life, EXCEPT:



The borderline creepy-as-hell relationship that develops between a kindergartner and an adult. Since I do my best to be spoiler-free, I try not to add names, but the characters involved are made clear within the first ... minute of the first episode.

Everything starts off innocent enough with a bunch of funny misunderstandings, but as the anime progresses, the situations get stranger and makes you go "WTF". Sure, you could pass it off as an innocent love from a 5-6 year old to an adult, but the scenarios the characters get into are just morally ambiguous. Examples: A parent allowing their child to roam the streets unsupervised to go to an adult's home and spend the night; kindergartners lopoking at "porn" and being fine with it; and an adult encouraging his pre-tween to start the process of getting engaged to an adult.

I'm pretty open-minded with anime situations and if this were done a different way, it probably wouldn't bother me. For some reason though, for me, the way the anime plays itself out just seems to have some undertone of sketchiness.

Everything else about the anime is done well, from the artwork to the character development. Maybe it just rubbed me the wrong way with me feeling those weird undertones. I just started getting an uneasy feeling around episode 11.

Some people start watching this because there is a game this anime is based on. Some others watch as a recommendation and yet others just stumble upon this anime.

Either way, to enjoy this anime, all you need to do is suspend all your beliefs on reality and common sense and just watch this for the pure entertainment it is. The anime is rather enjoyable if you can just enjoy it for what it is, and not constantly ponder the reasoning behind anime girls wearing scaled down weapons from WW II fighting vessels.

This anime reminds me of Strike Witches a lot, but without panty ... shots every few seconds. So far the anime is also a bit "darker" that Strike Witches in its story. Its a fun anime to watch if you wanna see something that is absurd, but with a lot of well-drawn stereotypical anime girls.

I was recommended this music-centric anime from a youtuber who just couldn't stop raving about it. I guess it just goes to show you that people can get very different levels of enjoyment out of the same anime.

I was not moved by Beck in the slightest. For me, the most memorable part of this anime is the opening song. The tune was hella catchy, for me at least, and was the most enjoyable part of the anime.

I did give this anime a fair shot and watched it to completion, but there was never any "hook" for me to grab onto throughout the ... series. The plot was uninspiring and at times, just unbelievable.

The artwork is average. The characters stoic. The music was bad other than the opening theme.

I did my best to like this anime, but in the end, was glad that it was finally over after watching the final episode.

Sorry for the other folks who enjoyed this anime, but I just never got into it at all.

It's great to see a harem anime where the male protagonist is a total badass AND isn't afraid of women. There may be a few of those types out there, but they are too few in my opinion.

The story reminds me a lot of the Kanon anime, but with awesome action scenes. The artwork is superb and it's refreshing to see this anime design it's characters eyes to make them look more Asian than the widely used "Western/European" style.

For me, the comedic scenes were so funny I was in tears, and the dramatic and emotional scenes had me in tears also. So ... I guess, this anime had me in tears most of the time.

Awesome show.

For me, this is hands down the best hentai anime I have seen. My heart was racing the first time I watched this and I still find it enjoyable even after re-watching countless times.

The story is very misogynistic, but if you looked up this anime, you probably already know this. Pretty standard men rule the world and women are around to serve men type of story, but that does not mean that Kuroinu's story isn't interesting.

The artwork for this is absolutely outstanding for hentai and on par with most high quality anime. The expressions on the women's faces are just perfectly animated. ... You can tell exactly what is going on in each of their minds.

This hentai is full of gorgeous women but my personal favs are the dark elves, especially the dark elf queen.

This hentai is censored, but it is very minimal and I'm pretty sure even folks who only like uncensored stuff will get a rise out of this instant classic.

Once I got past the fact that there is copious amounts of fanservice, this anime grew on me very quickly.

Sure, there are some plot holes, but the overall story is a good one and develops nicely. The main protagonist's(Ange) character development throughout the series flows nicely and is believable.

After the first episode, I figured this would be just another ecchi anime, but I was thoroughly and enjoyably surprised. I think the artwork and quality are top-notch and the music is wonderful and on-point in emphasizing emotion ion all the important scenes.

The first episode is what I believe turns a lot of people off ... from giving this anime a fair shake. Watch the first 3 then decide for yourself.
