Inou-Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de was suggested to me by a friend, and at first, it seemed like your everyday typical Haganai rip off. I'm here to tell you right now, that is indeed NOT the case. It quickly sets into motion what can only be described as the best damn harem you will ever see. The first episode gives a sort of self insertion vibe, but by the next episode you will have realized that the main character, Andou, is too unique for any of that. It feels almost as if he has two different personalities. That, children, is what we call INDIRECT
...
CHARACTERIZATION. This is a process that not many authors in the manga writing world seem to understand. Right off the bat we are SHOWN that he is an overactive chuuni (A Japanese slang term which roughly translates to "Middle School 2nd Year Syndrome". People with chuunibyou either act like a know-it-all adult and look down on real ones, or believe they have special powers unlike others.) in a club filled with some of the most unique harem characters seen to date.
STORY: Andou, Jurai is a boy who believes his right arm harbours a supernatural dark flame. This of course being nonsensical couldn't possibly be a reality, especially since he is a chuuni, right? This could technically be right, except for the fact that one day, while in the literature club room he and his club mates spontaneously gain 'superpowers'. From this, the story heads down a path of broken hearts and strengthened friendships. Anything said passed this is spoiler territory since the anime pretty much starts from the word go.
ART: It's not amazingly good, but it's up to standards for modern times. The boob physics are somewhat broken, though. The animation really adds to a lot of the moments. There will be times where how fast (or slow) something is happening will really add to the comedy. I forgot to mention, this show can be really funny when it wants to be, just not often. All of the members of this guy's harem are drawn really uniquely, not often matching their personalities.
SOUND: Holy shit, the voice actor for Andou is absolutely amazing. The voice cracks when he screamed sounded not at all forced and added to a lot of the humour. Every character is voice acted perfectly, I just specifically noticed that his stood out. The ED and OP as well as the OST don't stand out a ton, but set the mood whenever need be.
CHARACTER: Pretty much every character has two sides to them. Andou is dimwitted, but not to the point of absurdity. He acted in ways most guys would act when a female does not explain why she is feeling the way she is feeling. On the other hand, he can be calm and serious enough to know what to do in most situations. Chifuyu is your loli for this harem, however, she is manipulative and straightforward. If something is on her mind, she will blatantly say it out loud. Tomoyo is a true tsundere, no, not in that annoying fashion that has become commonplace in anime. She gets understandably upset, but does not abuse the character even if it seems inevitable. Take notes, light novel writers. Hatoko is the childhood friend and I have never felt so bad for one in a harem as I have with this one. She is not dumb, per se, just confused. She does not understand what a chuuni is and therefore comes off as ditsy when those situations arise. Another thing I have to give props to is that she IS the childhood friend, you get backstory on it as well as you get to see the chemistry between them. Sayumi is the senpai, she surpasses in everything that she does. She is calm and collected. Nothing passed that really. Oh yeah, she's got a body like a hot tamale. All these characters have reasons to actually love the MC. You get to see them develop their feelings and it all feels so natural. I had to take breaks between each episode to gather myself and comprehend what just happened. The side characters are fleshed out quite well, but are not able to be mentioned due to showing up at a later time in the series.
EENJOYMENT: I think I may have enjoyed this more than Hagani, and that's the only other harem I sort of liked. This one far surpasses that, however.
OVERALL: IT'S A SOLID 9.

Miss Monochrome is an anime with each episode being 4 minutes long. It is about an idol, Miss Monochrome trying to become a well-known singer in Japan. With 4 minutes each episode including the 1 minute long ED you might be wondering if it's worth it. It is definitely worth watching if you have a little time to spare and you are just looking for a laugh. Each episode will make you laugh at least once, it's guaranteed.
Story: 7
It's another story about an aspiring idol looking to make it big in Japan. Only difference being that Miss Monochrome is an android. Like most androids in
...
anime, she is incapable of emotion most of the time. This does not hinder her charm, in fact it further enhances it. The lack of reactions during gags makes the humor that much more abundant. There is in fact a back story to why she wants to become an idol and it has something to do with another more popular idol. I will not spoil it.
Art: 8
The art is modernly basic during normal scenes in which there is mostly dialogue. The scenes that are showing another idol singing or something important going on are where the art shines. The colors in these scenes have nice contrast and realistic movements. Miss Monochrome's ED is especially entertaining despite being CGI.
Sound: 8
There is no OP for this anime, and I applaud it for that as most other short episode anime never have enough time for the actual show because of this. It does however have an ED it is appropriately named "Poker Face". No it's not a Lady Gaga cover. It is a Miss Monochrome original that fits her perfectly because as I mentioned before, she is incapable of emotion. The voice acting for this anime is quite good. Maneo, the manager is well voiced. Miss Monochrome herself is monotone due to being an android so she's great too.
Character: 10
I needed to give Miss Monochrome a 10 for characters. This anime has single-handedly created the most spectacular character of all time ever to exist in anime... Ruu-chan. Its dialogue was amazing! It further added to the story, without it I don't think Miss Monochrome could exist. It has the most heart breaking back story I have ever seen in any piece of media ever. Alas, tragedy strikes. I don't want to go into spoiler territory... But I cried... A lot. Another semi important character is Miss Monochrome herself. She is very spontaneous with the ideas she comes up with for becoming famous. She also orgasms from batteries. Maneo is her Manager. He gets her tons of gigs that she ultimately ruins in one way or another. Kikuko is the main big idol whom Miss Monochrome has a tragic past with. She is the drive for Miss Monochrome to become an idol. Mana is just some cunt of a loli that although I hate to admit it. Without her the story would not have been set into motion.
Enjoyment: 10
Although it's short, I really enjoyed this anime. Every second that Ruu-chan was on screen was another second of enjoyment. Miss Monochrome definitely went beyond my expectations in terms of enjoyment. I hope we get a season 2.
Overall: 8
Miss Monochrome deserves the score I give it. It has created a character that will forever change anime as a whole. Ruu-chan has set an all-time high for my expectations for anime characters in the future. As I said before, I hope Miss Monochrome gets a second season. I need more Ruu-chan.

Oh boy... Where to start? Unbreakable Machine Doll is quite the mixed bag. On one hand it seems to have enough ecchi to appeal to ecchi fans. On the other hand it seems to handle it's fighting scenes quite well albeit with the use of a little CGI here and there. Action fans may enjoy it as well.
Story: 7
Our story takes place in the early 20th century (1900's). Where science co-existing with magic has come together to develop living objects that have their own personalities. Fast forward a few years and the story follows a young puppeteer by the name of Raishin Akabane and his
...
machine doll, Yaya. The two must work together to achieve the title of "Wiseman" at their academy. A sort of king capable of almost anything. The only problem is that due to Raishin's poor grades he ends up in second last for qualifying in the "battle royale" out of thousands of students. And only the top 100 students can participate.
This is a great premise and I was excited to see how it would be executed. Alas the battles while being amazingly animated... End up being no longer than a few minutes. The thing about this season only being 12 episodes is that it has a ton of pacing problems so I can't blame them. Okay, imagine driving down a straight road with a nice fast care. Now imagine that on each side of the road there is the most incredible scenery you have ever seen. Now imagine that the car is slowly speeding up... getting faster, and faster. Before you know it, the lovely scenery has now become a blur of boobs and moe blobs. What was that? Was that just some actual plot? I can't tell. In short, this anime's first season just needed to be twice as long.
Art: 9
Oh my Keima Katsuragi... The art is superb. The lighting is handled beautifully. You can actually see time passing as the episodes go on as dusk turns to night and night turns to dawn. The characters look uniquely 20th century-esque. This anime is pure eye candy I didn't even mind the fanservice, and I hate fanservice. But damn... The scenery is just immersing. I actually wanted to be there. The CGI wasn't all that bad, it's barely noticeable but it knocked this score down by 1 point.
Sound: 10
The OP and ED differ so much, but are both amazing in their own aspects. The OP gets you pumped and the ED gets you excited for the next episode... Which was kind of bad... If you followed this anime from episode 1. The OST was immersive, enhancing fight scenes pumping me up. It also handled dramatic scenes quite well, where Raishin had flashbacks about certain past events that I don't want to spoil but the OST definitely helped with me sympathizing with him. I have to say the the art coupled with the Sound is what made this show.
Characters: 6
This has to be the show's weakest point. Raishin is a pretty generic MC. His motivation for getting "Wiseman" is just a revenge driven plot device. Yaya is his doll that he uses to fight she is outright in love with him for some unknown reason always wanting to either marry, f*ck him, or both. This is a long running joke throughout the series and is kind of funny but gets annoying sometimes. Those are our MC's... I won't talk about any other characters because they are either unimportant or are introduced after episode 1. Just know that every girl student he meets will want his dick for reasons unclear. They are also all slightly moe... Just slightly...
Enjoyment: 8
I enjoyed this show immensely. The art is what kept me and the Music is what left me wanting more. The stage has been set with this first season, so I'm looking forward to season 2. The premise is quite fresh and has to be explored further. Characters were unique except for their shared moe blobness.
Overall: 8
The only problems I had were the use of CGI and Yaya got annoying at some points with her jealousy over other girls wanting MC'S dick. Still, I loved everything else about this show and I think it is better than most of this season's anime. I dropped quite a few shows but not this one. I didn't really like all the moe but it was bearable to say the least.

Story: 8
Shinjou Maita is a middle school hopeless romantic. One day a first-year girl comes up to him after he gets pummeled asking if he is alright. Thinking that his life is looking up, he quickly falls in love with her. After about a day of knowing her she confesses her love to him. He happily returns home to find that he seems to be in the midst of a robbery. The girl whom he thinks is robbing him warns him to stay away from any and all girls he encounters...
It's intriguing to say the least. It's definitely... Different. The story could work for a
...
hentai so I'm interested in seeing how it will be used in a manga. People will compare it to terminators lots because of the robots and the future stuff. But there are tons of differences in overall plot.
Art: 9
The character designs seem to have a lot of thought put into them. The MC especially differs from the standard brown-haired, big-eyed, shaggy short-hair cliche that is supposed to make you feel as if you are them. This is a good thing because it allows you to feel as if you are reading an actual story.
Character: 10
Each character is different and they do not have cliche personalities. They all seem capable of reacting differently in different situations. These characters are definitely not cookie-cutter. There are quite a few lolis though~.
Enjoyment: 8
My personal enjoyment is pretty high due the fact that this manga is satirical to how anime and manga have to have its tsunaderes, derederes, yanderes etc. in a sense that it constantly makes fun of the characters for trying to act a certain way. I also enjoyed the references to older movies.
Overall: 8
I have to give this manga an eight because of the way it handled its satire, it wasn't over the top and in your face. It is definitely worth checking out. It's a breath of fresh air, something new. I will be reading it as new volumes come out.

This anime to me will always be the little anime that thought it could. Gosick is an interesting romance that likes to make you feel like it's going somewhere when in its actuality all it comes down to is hand holding and blushing. Before watching Gosick you should be warned that it is one of those anime in which you can only watch a few episodes at a time before somewhat losing interest and leaving to do something of equal or less importance. The fact of the matter is because the mystery genre has to take a back seat for the overarching plot. I wanted
...
to really enjoy this anime because the character development was really interesting and was handled really well. Buuuuuut as soon as mystery is thrown out the window near the end and quite a few years pass it feels like a massive acid trip that I soon want to forget.
STORY: 7
The overarching plot is rushed and wasn't really all that interesting to begin with. I like to think of it as a story about Kujou and Victorique's love growing for each other. But basically the part I enjoyed was when Kujou would find the evidence and Victorique would piece it together.
ART: 10
Bones never ceases to amaze me with their visuals... Just need to work on their endings. Anyway, I never really found myself disgusted by choppy visuals in this anime because there are none. The OP is amazing on it's own.
SOUND: 6
Nothing at all was memorable except the first ED. The OP, OST, and second ED are all pretty bad and barely amplified any sense of emotion in scenes.
CHARACTER: 9
I have to say, part of the reason I could push on through this show is because every character seems to develop quite a lot. Even Grevil seems to start to care for his sister. We also have a moe blob teacher which I suppose is better than a moe blob loli. Also, I found it quite amusing that Victorique is a mature loli while Kujou is an immature highschooler that acts like little kid when he doesn't get his own way.
ENJOYMENT: 8
I enjoyed almost the entire show... Except for the those rushed last episodes. It also had a shit overarching plot.
Overall: 8
I would have given it a 7 but it's character development and art were both too good and are able to carry the show. The overarching plot is just handled terribly and dealt with too quickly. The sound was bad as well. We will be seeing a new manga series being made with Kujou and Vicorique solving crimes as detectives in Gosick Red (FUCK YES) I would like to see this show dubbed.

A lot of people hate this anime. I think their reasons are unjustified. This anime is supposed to show what NOT to do in a visual novel. It basically makes every wrong decision for you. Taking the worst possible route. School Days is largely misunderstood and I think it is a good example of something that was taken the wrong way. Anyway, that was my 2 cents. Do with it which you will. I know this review is short, but I'm pretty sure everyone and their mothers have already heard of this anime by now.

Where do I begin?... The premise is nice. The execution was fair.
Taro (our whiney main-main character), Makoto (rebel extraordinaire) and Masayuki (professional milf hunter) are our three almost immediate MC's for this evening. They all have dramatic pasts that lead them to spend the rest of their days with regret not far from their minds. Masayuki is the bridge that connects Tarou and Makoto with his intrusive personality. Miyako is later introduced as main character 4? yeah... I guess we just hand out MC like it's no big deal around here. Don't question it. Read the synopsis if you want more, but it's really
...
hard not to spoil anything, so I have to be vague.
Flaws: I would like to mention the flaws before I mention what makes this anime stand out. This show... tries to touch on the subject spirituality as well as science of the brain. Cool, right? Meh, sorta. The problem is that they later try to mix in religion as well as try to have some sort of crush between two MC's. It's here where the animu starts to derail a bit. It tried to add a fourth boy, Michio to the mix who can instantly do this thing that the other boys learned to do (while keeping a human form) called soul traveling. A sort of out of body experience. The problem here is that the other boys had a reason to soul travel. To solve traumas. He just does it without having any. No explanation is given either. The crush thing goes no where, so there was really no reason to have it. They also only touch on religion briefly before just going for a cult approach. Oh yeah... Character development? Nope, everyone that needed it just 180's near the end of the anime. What little dialogue we get starts to get choppy near the end.
What it does well: This animu brings up a lot about different diseases and conditions with the brain. It also effectively brings up the spiritual side of the coin in a kind of speculative point of view. Miyako is probably the show's best character in terms of character development she goes from not understanding her place in the world (it's implied so you have to pay attention) to finally accepting her dad as an understanding individual. The show also has that small but big feeling in the sense that you actually feel like there is a world beyond what you are seeing by referencing newspaper articles and places in the world. I like that.
Overall I thought this anime did what it needed to and an itty bit more. It's an anime to get you thinking and really nothing beyond that. Sure there are feels here and there but without knowing what the other characters think other than Taro it just falls flat. I enjoyed it, almost couldn't stop watching, it's good for it's time. If only they polished up the last few episodes a bit.
