What an absolute treat this anime was to watch! It warmed my heart on these cold winter days as of writing this, needed something comfy to watch around Christmas. Frankly, I can say this is w/o a doubt some of the best SoL anime I have ever laid my eyes on. I'll get down to it more in depth why I thought so w/o spoiling too much:

Story: 9/10
Now, for a SoL anime this had an impactful message about parenthood and raising a child every episode that passed. It was nice to see how at first Daikichi's fam acted cold towards Rin from the beginning, to ... later warming up to her and embracing her as one of their own in the later episodes. Seeing how much Rin changed Daikichi's life from a , presumably, boring 9-to-5 and passing the day life to one where Daikichi socialized more and got to meet new people who were parents just like him and learning from them for the sake of caring for Rin. She's legit a ray of sunshine into his life and it was adorable seeing them grow closer to each other.

Tbh, the character designs were a lil weird looking to me. People usually say that the boring, generic look of modern day anime is trash and something different is always nice for a change, and while I agree w/ that sentiment, it just wasn't the case here. Something different does not equal great or better. While I wasn't too crazy about how the characters looked, the kids looked cute enough and it was good enough for me. On the other hand, the backgrounds that were drawn were really nice to look at, and the fact the ED switches up a bit animation wise in corresponding w/ what happened in the episode was a nice touch.

If you need some cute anime w/ a great message attached , I highly vouch for this anime. Give it a shot. But I would not advise reading the manga, completely ruins everything.

Btw, fuck the dumbass author of the manga tho. Imagine having a good thing going for the first half of the manga you made to later get adapted into an anime, only for you to later take a complete fat dump all over it w/ the chapters following the end of the anime run.

Lupin III, the thief who stole everyone's heart around the world, an influential icon that served as a stepping stone for the anime that came after it. What more is there to say about it? The 2nd Part (aka Red Jacket series) is a whole whopping load of 155 episodes that I couldn't bring myself to finish watching all of it. Full of episodic, one-note, with a few 2 part-er episodes here and there, adventures that all vary in quality. This is an anime that I for sure wouldn't advise you to binge all in one sitting, but more urge you to watch like if ... it was a Saturday morning cartoon here and there if you grow tired of the other anime you're currently watching. The characters are charming even if they seem a bit one-note-ish, but the world building and shenanigans they get themselves into sure is pretty damn entertaining to watch. The quality of animation is from the 70s, so it's expected to be not as clean as of the anime of today, which is fine since the look of old anime like this is quite the feat to look at where we are today.

Overall, this series has some hit-or-miss episodes, but boy when they hit they hit great.
