SLIGHT SPOILER WARNING
Ok, so this is not the mind-breaking, tear-jerking, introspective rom-com a typical anime snob would want to see. This is Dome Kano without the Alabama elements, and I guess without the overall smut. Okay, this is nothing like Dome Kano, but this show is so hilariously ridiculous that it's just straight-up funny. The situations the MC gets into are so obviously avoidable that you kinda stop caring and just view the entire thing as some sort of hammed-up soap opera comedy. I do like the characters, even if Kazuya is a dunce with the social skills and awareness of a spoon, he comes

off slightly endearing. The waifus are all there (except Mami), and they make the show bearable. The excess of girlfriends he rents is a tad weird, Sumi although cute and all that isn't really a character we needed to spend a lot of time on. I don't think this is a bad show by any means, because if you don't take it too seriously, it's actually kinda funny. The art is nice, definitely not the MAPPA levels of sakuga OD, but it's for sure a nice-looking show. Good music, good enough progression, and in my opinion, if the whole stupidity of the several girlfriends ever clears up in the story, it can work. I mean I think Chizuru alone is good enough since the whole jealous ex storyline could basically count as the show itself. Overall, don't think of this as the story to end all rom-coms, just look at this as a goofy show with a below-average IQ MC. The plot devices here definitely lean more into the com more than the rom.
