This is a casual review from someone who watched the edited SFW version and didn't know that there's actually a full, uncensored version.
Honestly, since I watched that version, I didn't even know it was hentai till I searched about it. Hahahaha.
Anyway, I really love it! I really like the story, art not that much but it'll do, sound (aka the ending song "My One" by Saki Hazuki) is amazing (I love it so much!), character development is ok too. Personally, I prefer the older brother but the younger brother is ok too.
Aside from the ending song, pleasant story, and how surprised I was
...
of this anime's true nature, the rest are pretty average so points are deducted.
Overall, I really enjoyed it and was surprised when I learned it was actually hentai because it doesn't seem like one. If you're uncomfortable with that kind of stuff, you can go and watch the SFW version like I did! But if you want the whole package, then go for it!
Either way, just give it a try! I'm sure you'll forget that you're watching hentai too. :)
Story: 7/10
Art: 7/10
Sound: 8/10 (This score is for My One by Saki Hazuki)
Character: 7/10
Enjoyment: 8/10 (A lot of points given due to the fact that I was really surprised when I learned that it was actually hentai)
Overall: 7/10

Iroduku is the epitome of all drama and slice of life anime. From the gorgeous art, pleasing soundtracks, and lovable characters, almost everything is perfect. It's a very touching anime with the intention of leaving a good impression with its viewers, teaching them a life lesson that'll change the way they perceive this world.
And they successfully pulled it off.
~[Story]~
This is the weakest part of this anime. It's still good. I love how the annoying love triangles didn't last long (they handled it really well), fights got resolved quickly (thank God they communicate!), and the long awaited confession scene was greatly executed. In
...
my opinion, it's one of the best confession scenes out there. Who would've thought a piece of paper with a little bit of magic will result to one of the sweetest and most romantic scenes of all time?
However, just like what I said, it's still the weakest. In some episodes, it just felt flat. It became a bit boring to the point I once thought "Oh, just get it over with". I honestly watched an episode in 2x speed because of that.
I understand that they're laying the groundwork and the likes but it gets tiring. This happened around the middle part of the anime.
But thankfully, during the last parts, oh darn. Things finally picked up. Every episode is a rollercoaster of emotions. So many revelations, pivotal moments, and amazing character developments. Thank God I didn't drop this anime or else I wouldn't discover this precious gem and the priceless value it has.
They definitely made up for those boring episodes, rewarding its viewers with a thrilling rollercoaster ride filled with emotions and character developments which made everything so worth it and beautiful.
I just wish the ending was a bit better because they left one loose thread but it still tied everything up nicely.
Score: 9/10
~[Art]~
The art is very astounding. There are a lot of beautiful backgrounds. I took many screenshots while watching this series. I love how they portrayed the colors, and the black and white scenes. They really added a lot of depth to the whole anime.
Prepare to be amazed especially when the characters use magic. So beautiful.
However the character designs, especially the main guy, isn't my favorite. I don't understand how such a beautiful anime could have such a boring character designs. They're very lacklustre and barely complimented the gorgeous backgrounds. But, even with that, I still believe the art of this anime deserves praise.
Score: 10/10
~[Sound]~
The sound is the strongest part of this anime. It's very pleasant and has a calming effect. The OSTs are memorable, the ending's great, but the opening beats them all. 17 Sai is one of the best anime openings I've ever heard. When I first listened to the first few seconds of the song, I immediately knew this'd be my fave anime opening of Fall 2018.
They definitely added more impact to the scene and the creators inserted them at the right moment and shot. This resulted to a very memorable scenes that'll be remembered by its viewers for a long time.
Score: 10/10
~[Character]~
The characters are relatable and lovable. You'll immediately get immersed into their world and get attached with the people living in it. The main cast is the sort of people I want to meet and be friends with forever. They were a good influence to Hitomi and changed her for the better.
At the same time, you can tell how much everyone in this show cares for her. Whenever I see scenes depicting this, my heart always swell up with joy, and muttering "Ahh, thank God. Hitomi's not alone anymore".
Everyone also had great character development especially the main guy. I'm really proud of him and I'm glad I didn't think ill of him no matter how "boring" he may seem. I knew he'll have a great development. Same goes with Hitomi as well. I'm just really happy for her.
Oh and Asagi is #bestgirl definitely. I won't give out too much details but let me just say, they really did her character right.
It breaks my heart to leave them behind but I'll always remember the great things they did for Hitomi and how they made her feel belonged and loved.
Score: 10/10
~[Enjoyment]~
In this case, enjoyment = times I cried. And that's a lot especially on the last few episodes. Thank God I decided to wait for three weeks and binged them all in one day.
Plus, it didn't help either that I'm a huge crybaby. I was teary eyed for almost thirty minutes on one episode and literally cried for almost an hour while watching the last two episodes because my heart couldn't just take it anymore.
I won't delve too much into the details. Let me just say that make sure there are tissues beside you and prepare for a ride of fluctuating emotions. You can really tell that this show's playing with your heart on purpose.
Score: 10/10
~[Conclusion]~
Overall, Iroduku is a really beautiful and touching anime. This is the type that appeals more to the heart rather than the mind and after watching, it'd leave behind a good impression and a great life lesson. The story's good, the art's gorgeous, the sounds are pleasant, and the characters are memorable.
They handled a lot of tropes well and did everything related to it right. It's refreshing to see a new take on these clichéd scenes which made me love this anime even more. The romance was handled really great especially the confession scene. I'll always remember that scene fondly even though it broke my heart at the same time.
So if you're planning to watch this, prepare tissues and even though it's already obvious how it'd end from episode 1, it's still a great ride that you shouldn't miss out. Once it gets boring, just hang in there. It's only for a few episodes. I promise after that, things would pick up without giving you time to breathe. And most of all, prepare for a touching and bittersweet anime that'll change the way you perceive this world.
Ahhh, I'll truly miss this anime. Thank you for the wonderful memories, Iroduku and P.A. Works.
P.S.: This is the first ever anime from P.A. Works I've ever watched. I'm so excited for their future works!

I hate yaoi.
Yes, you read that right. I repeat. I hate yaoi. I hate anything that even has hints of yaoi. You may call me homophobic or close-minded but that's what I truly feel. And mind you, I don't hate the LGBTQ community nor do I have anything against those who are fans of yaoi. It's just not my cup of tea.
So, why the heck am I here writing a review on one of the most popular BL anime of all time? Believe me, up till now I can't believe I watched this. A lot of my friends kept on pestering me to
...
give it a chance even though I countlessly told them I hate yaoi. So, for the sake of my peace of mind, I finally gave it a try.
And surprisingly, I... didn't hate it. I actually like it.
It helped a lot that I'm a huge fan of shounen, drama, and sports genre. While watching this, I was constantly reminded of Welcome to the Ballroom (another great sports anime) and that's a good thing because I really love that. I was on my way on giving this a solid 10 but then... the ending happened.
Now, I won't go too much into detail. All I can say is, it's so obvious the creators didn't expect that Yuri on Ice will get massively popular. It's like they're travelling on path A for a long time but then, when they're about to reach the end, suddenly turned to path B and go on a brand new adventure. If done right, it's fine. However, in this case, it backfired.
If by any chance someone who thought the ending was perfect/fine read this and disagrees with me, feel free to state your opinion. Just know that I won't reply nor even read it.
So since that happened, I settled for an 8. The critic writer in me just can't let it pass.
~[Story]~
The story's good. It's enticing and really draws you into their world. I never thought figure skating would be very interesting! However, it employs the usual formula often seen in sports anime. Nothing too original but it's still very entertaining.
Score: 8/10
~[Art]~
The art's nice. I love the diversity in this series by showing people from various nationalities with a distinct feature in each character. It was a really nice touch.
Score: 8/10
~[Sound[~
This is one of the two strengths of this anime. I love every soundtrack featured here. Especially the opening "History Maker". Before watching Yuri on Ice, I always thought its opening song is one of the best out there. And now that I've seen the anime, it added a lot of emotional depth to the song making me love it even more.
But even so, Shall We Skate is still my most favorite song. Theme of King JJ is second.
Score: 10/10
~[Characters]~
This is the other strength of this anime and in my opinion, its best quality. The characters are just lovable. There was hardly any character that was set aside. Almost everyone had a role and the creators made sure each of them will have a screen time on the last episode which is something not every anime do.
I'm very impressed that they were able to flesh out as many characters as possible in the span of 12 episodes. I found myself getting attached even to those who barely had any screen time. Each one of them creates an impact to the viewer to the point I don't root for the main protagonist that much. I still want him to win of course, but I just can't help but be swayed over by his rivals.
That just shows how magnificent the cast are.
Character development in almost every person that showed up in a show is hard to pull off. But they did. Very impressive.
Score: 10/10
~[Conclusion]~
Overall, Yuri on Ice is a great anime. I, now, completely understand why it gathered a huge following and why a lot of my friends kept on telling me to try it out. The story's good, the art's nice, the sound's awesome, and the characters are great. I'm glad I gave it a try.
So, did this help lessen my hatred over yaoi? Nope. I enjoyed this a lot but I'm still not a fan of BL. I won't suddenly jump ship just because of this anime. It's still not my cup of tea and I don't think it'll ever be BUT I'll watch season 2 in case they release one.
After all, Yuri on Ice is the first and last BL anime I'll ever watch.
P.S.: Phichit is #besthusbando.

Shoujo. A genre catered towards women and thus, a lot of people steer clear of it; preferring the good ol' natured shounen and action that'll make their bloods pumping.
I am one of those people.
But sometimes, I still delve into the deep well of this genre, hoping to find a masterpiece at the bottom. And I'm glad to proclaim that this anime is one of them.
Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii is all about Nike who got sent off to the Sun Kingdom to marry their king who's also the World King so that her kingdom would maintain its autonomy status. Nike, being a strong
...
willed girl, accepted her fate and was surprised that her fiancé is, in fact, a bratty, self-centered, and aloof child! This results to adorably hilarious interactions between them as they overcome obvious flaws and discover that despite everything, the world is still beautiful (pun intended).
Ok, I know what you're thinking. A love story between a teenage girl and a kid? Are you serious? Wait, is this even legal?
Before more questions sprung out, let me cut you off there and blatantly state that yes, this is about a teenager and a kid BUT the age gap is only 4 years at most. Besides, this is set in the medieval times and it's perfectly normal during that time. I know it can be uncomfortable but bear with it. Give it a chance to try to win you over because I promise you, it's worth it.
However, if you deem that you can't just watch an anime between an older woman and a shotacon, well, go on and continue your journey. Let me just say you don't know what you're missing.
Now that we got those aside, let's continue.
~[Sound]~
Unfortunately, the OP and ED of this anime failed to catch my attention. It's still pleasing to listen to but forgettable. The main OST of the series which is heard almost every ep is catchy and has some beautiful meaning behind it but that's about it. It's almost played every ep and it gets tiring.
However, the various versions of that song heard throughout the series helped make it a bit "new" and I honestly found myself still enjoying it despite the repetition. And the orchestra version is the best.
Score: 8/10
~[Art]~
It has the classic shoujo and old school feel to it which instantly reminded me of the anime I watched in the 90s and early 2000s. But the character design are unoriginal and I can find myself seeing other anime characters in the cast. That's not always a bad thing because for me, anime will always have a somewhat similarity with others and as long as the other factors are decent, then it's fine in my book.
There were no still shots (there was one scene but its purpose is for comedy) but there were some scenes where the characters look unnatural and derpy making it unpleasant to the eyes.
However, when the heroine uses her powers, it turns magnificent. I love the ripple effects, the formation of the clouds and the likes, and paired with the song truly made it a great moment. But for me, that's not the strongest side of this anime's art. It's, in fact, the backgrounds.
I'm a huge fan of backgrounds and I love how they were drawn in this anime. The colors harmonized beautifully creating an unforgettable sight perfect for emotionally pivotal scenes and definitely adds to the impact.
Score: 9/10
~[Story]~
It's a shoujo anime so expect to see a lot of shoujo tropes that are cheesy but because of the overall execution and the great cast, will still make it entertaining.
There weren't a lot of drama and it's mostly about Livius I and Nike living their lives as the Sun King and Queen respectively while growing closer and closer each day. This type of anime is perfect to those who are looking for something that can cheer them up or if they're tired of too much drama.
So if you found any tropes undesirable, bear with it. It gets better I promise.
Score; 10/10
~[Characters]~
Now, onto the best side of this anime - its characters. This anime has one of the best ensemble out there. Everyone is just so adorably hilarious and lovable; and each of their individual quirks harmonize well with others that you can't help but get invested in them.
Nike is one of the best shoujo heroines out there. She's strong willed, determined, kind and not afraid to stand up for what's right. She also has morals and principles in life that she's willing to fight for till the end and I find that very amazing. She is the epitome of heroines and I hope I'll encounter more characters like her.
Livius I is a good character. He's quite realistic (ironic, I know) and great character development throughout the series. He's also straightforward for his age and that's great because let's be real, dense MCs can only go so far. However, I admit that without Nike, this stoic and rude kid won't have much of an impact to me. But that's a good thing in this case since it just shows that the main characters compliment each other very well.
The side characters are amazing as well and despite not having a lot of screen time, they still could create an impact to the viewer and make the whole scene infinitely better.
This anime only got a high rating because of its characters because despite all of the tropes, they're executed well to the point that I don't mind them and just enjoy the ride.
Score: 10/10 (I'd give it a score higher than 10 if I could.)
~[Conclusion]~
Overall, Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii is a great anime with decent sound, good art, nice story and magnificent characters. So if you can get past the age gap, well, expect a lighthearted anime that'll make you feel warm and fuzzy in the inside, laughing your worries away.

(Spoilers free!)
When they say that anime literally has everything you can think of, even the weird ones, they're speaking the truth. An anime about magic? Done. An anime about ghosts? There's one. An anime about turning war weapons into cute and beautiful girls? Look no further. And finally, an anime about soda cans also being feminized? Yes, it exists.
And now a shounen anime about sumo.
I can now finally add another entry on my "Japan's Greatest Ideas" list and not on the "Japan's Weirdest Ideas".
Hinomaruzumou or Hinomaru Sumo is about Ushio Hinomaru, a new student who enrolled at Oodachi High School and joined
...
their very small sumo club with the intention of being a Yokozuna (the highest rank on professional Sumo). But it appears fate isn't very kind to him because he's too "small" for the sport.
Despite his disadvantage, Hinomaru makes up for it with training and strong spirit. And he's going to prove to everyone that you can still be a Yokozuna even if you're not big enough!
I know, I know. It has that clichéd sports anime feel of wanting to be at the top of the summit despite the main hero's glaring flaw(s). But don't let it deter you from watching this anime! It was brilliantly done and in just a few minutes, you can't help but be immediately get used to their world.
This is, after all, another retelling of that classic shounen and sports anime feel while giving it a breath of fresh air. It's advantage is the fact that it features a sport that (let's be honest) not everyone will immediately be interested in. They're taking a risk with this one and I'm all in!
I literally went in with little to none knowledge on sumo and so far, this is becoming educational for me. I never thought that I'd actually would like to learn more about sumo and find this, in general, something fascinating. I mean, it's just about two "fat" guys hugging each other, right? Wrong. I was so wrong. It was more than that and I admit, Hinomaru was able to influence me for I saw how passionate he was and I couldn't help but be interested as well.
The opening was wonderful and gives insights on future characters/rivals/events; and at the same time, makes it obvious that this IS shounen and you're in for a wonderful ride. The ending is very manly as well. The "ooh hah" parts really get my blood pumping!
The characters are so lovable. The main character can really inspire you and even though he's the good ol' shounen hero, I didn't mind at all. In fact, that made me love him even more. The supporting cast are amazing as well. I love their individual quirks and how they all blend so well together. This is truly an ensemble to watch out for!
The art style, at first, didn't truly catch my attention. It's not bad but it's not that great either. However, when the sumo matches are shown; wow, I was blown away. I love the way they used heavy and darker lines and palette during intense scenes and lighter ones during comedic scenes. As someone who read the manga, I'm glad they're staying faithful to the original art.
Another thing I'd like to point out on the art style is that I hardly saw any still shots which is a really good news. I tried pausing at random times to see if I'll see any goofy drawings but haven't seen one. A lot of anime nowadays resort to those aforementioned goofy shots because they either want to save money or speed up the animation process.
Overall, Hinomaru Sumo is a really great anime. Since it's about a sport I'm not very familiar with, it immediately piqued my interest and I'm so glad I tried it out. The opening and ending songs give me the classic shounen feel, and the characters, especially Hinomaru, are lovable; and I can't wait to get to know them better. The art is the typical one you usually see on anime nowadays but when it's sumo time, wow, it really brings a lot to the table!
I'm very excited for the next episodes and continue this wonderful journey!
P.S.: There are anime released before about sumo but none of them caught my attention like this one did.
P.P.S.: If you're thinking of reading the manga, I suggest you start from chapter 1. The anime skipped a lot of chapters after all. It's like the anime has its own storytelling of the same characters and universe while the manga has its own different style as well. Both are enjoyable and will make you appreciate Hinomaru Sumo even more. :)

Hinomaruzumou is just like any other shounen and sports manga out there. It starts with a protagonist who's deeply passionate on a particular sport, joins a high school club, and together with his new comrades, they'll conquer the whole country.
So what makes this manga different from the rest?
I have two answers for you: story and character. Sure it still has that "power of friendship" feel to it but believe me when I say that it's not the same "nakama power" bullcrap that's very common in shounen anime. It's the "power of friendship" done right and it's completely justified.
And the characters are just
...
so freaking lovable! Kawada-sensei makes sure to give as many characters (no matter how minor they are to the plot) backstory/development as much as possible and I truly appreciate that. Not every manga author does that and often forget the supporting ones.
These two are what I believe to be the #2 and #3 strength of this manga.
What's #!?
The romance subplot. Wait, don't leave yet! Let me explain. In shounen and/or sports anime, there's little to none romance. They just focus on the camaraderie of the team and even if they did add fluffy moments, it either didn't fit the story or feel so forced.
Hinomaruzumou isn't like that. Slowly but surely, you'll see the development between two characters that's so frustrating but rewarding once they end up together. Believe me, be ready to feel so overwhelemed with happiness.
As for the art, I love it. Per page/panel, I can really feel the intensity during sumo fights and the likes.
Overall, everything about this manga is so beautiful. From the story, art, character, and to enjoyment, I can really feel the passion in order to realize this work. And that's why I'm giving this manga a score of 10.
P.S.: Before I knew it, this manga became my most fave sports manga and manga of all time!
P.P.S.: Binge reading this for 3 days is so worth it.

"What? You still haven't seen One Piece?"
That's the response I always get when meeting fellow anime fans once they ask me about One Piece. And then after that, they'd proceed and tell me reasons why I should watch it now.
I know that it's good. I heard a lot of positive reviews about it after all. But what discouraged me from picking it up (which I'm sure might also the reason those who still haven't seen One Piece have no plans to do so) is the number of episodes. It's A LOT and unless you're really dedicated and patient, that won't sit well with you.
...
Well, guess what? The reason why I didn't want to watch it in the first place became the main reason why I love it. I'm so glad I didn't let it discourage me from trying it out!
And so, after three months and one week of marathoning this anime, I finally caught up with the latest episode when this review was written which was episode 831. Wow, what a ride. One Piece has everything I love about anime--enthralling world, captivating plot, mind-blowing twists, fascinating and relatable characters, heart-stopping actions, heartbreaking deaths, and more. That's why in no time, One Piece became one of my most favorite anime of all time.
Thanks to the huge number of episodes, you can really get attached to the SH crew and other notable characters to the point where you can't imagine life without them. From the first episode, I immediately knew my life was about to change now that I discovered this treasure.
The world it offers is really beautiful. The parallels that are compared to real life are just simply brilliant.
Don't even get me started with the plot. This plus the plot twists are strengths of One Piece. Every arc will surely get you hooked and after watching an episode, it'll make you want for more.
Great characters too. The backstories are relatable and you can really sympathize with them. You'll get attached to them that's why the deaths are really heartbreaking. There was a character's death where it took me three weeks before I had the strength to continue watching the series! That's how in love I am with this anime and not everyone can do that so good job Oda!
The actions are great too. There are times when I felt like my heart would stop in suspense. I just wish they'd shorten it though. There were a lot of times where I skipped some scenes because it felt like the animators were just dragging it (which is probably the real case).
As for the soundtracks, well it's good but most of the opening and ending songs are forgettable for me. It's not enough to catch my attention and convince me not to skip it. However, there are notable opening songs as well that I didn't skip at all.
Overall, One Piece is one of the best anime of all time for me. It deserves all the success and praise it receives! A true classic, indeed. So don't hesitate and just jump right in! You're in for a ride of a lifetime. ;)

Hai to Gensou no Grimgar was a pleasant surprise. What started off as a generic RPG turned out into something more realistic and beautiful. It tackled on things that most RPG won't even delve into that much or worse, glossed over. And that's why I truly appreciate this anime.
At first, I seriously thought that it will be just like any other trapped-in-a-game story out there. Well, most cases, it is. But don't let that dissuade you from watching this anime. This is more than that. What makes it different from the others is the way they tackled character death and how it's relevant to
...
each of their character developments especially the main protagonist. It honestly reminds me of Zetsuen no Tempest regarding this matter. Now, I'll leave it at that since I don't want to give out spoilers.
The art is really beautiful. It had a soft watercolor feel to it that made everything feels so serene and captivating. This is honestly the first time I saw such an art style in an anime before. I found myself admiring a lot of scenic views and I just can't get enough of its art style.
There were some times that the animation looks a bit off but they were just very minor. An example would be is that for a few seconds the characters were just standing there and I'd wonder why did it stop then after a while, the characters would move again. Again, very minor and it didn't affect the overall quality for me.
I understand that most people don't like the OST but I couldn't find the reason why they dislike it. In my opinion, the OST is really good. I do admit that at times it felt totally random like the director spontaneously just decided to add a song in that scene hoping for added effect but overall the music fits the story.
In terms of the story, it started off painstakingly slow. The pacing was almost similar to Katekyo Hitman Reborn where it took twenty or twenty something episodes before it got interesting. In this anime's case, it took seven episodes before it finally caught my attention.
The first seven episodes were a bore and I disliked the fanservice too. I found myself rolling my eyes a lot of times and muttering "weak" or "lame" over and over again as I looked at the characters -- which was a bad sign. I honestly thought of dropping it because it's too ordinary for my taste. Hence why I first rated this anime as 5/10. BUT at the later episodes, and I mean LATER episodes (caps lock for emphasis), the pace finally picked up, only a few fanservice scenes (almost none to be honest since the anime focused more on plot development); and from a small stun grenade, it turned into huge fireworks that it left me wanting for more. It really redeemed itself in the end thus from 5, the rating changed to 9.
As for the characters, well I'm attached to all of them especially Manato. God knows how much I love that guy. I really enjoyed being in the same party as they are as they explored this new world. I have also already established my ships and when there were subtle sweet moments, it makes me squeal and really happy. The character developments for some characters were just brilliant.
Overall, Hai to Gensou no Grimgar is a really good anime to watch especially for those who are a fan of the RPG genre. It doesn't seem interesting at first especially during the first half but don't let that discourage you. In the second half, the story finally takes a turn and gets better and better that'll leave you wanting for more.

Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry employs the usual formula that made this anime popular. It has its cool, emotional, funny, sweet and thrilling moments. And of course, who can ever forget the "power of friendship"? These are, after all, what made me a Fairy Tail fan. But somewhere, somehow, something went wrong.
So, what went wrong? They added more into the formula that damaged the overall quality of the story. One thing I particularly hate is that they added a transformation sequence. It's just so weird and awkward, it honestly made me think, "I'm watching Fairy Tail and not Sailor Moon, right?". Those scenes seriously made
...
me cringe. Like, when the heck did this anime added magical girl into its list of genres? Unless it's supposed to be a gag or a parody, then my argument will be pointless. But if it's not, my opinion of shounen and transformation sequence shouldn't be put together still stands.
Another thing I dislike is the boob jiggling. Yeah, yeah, I know. Fairy Tail has ecchi in one of its genres so this is to be expected. But come on! I think there should be a limit. And, is it just me or did the boobs of some of the female characters got bigger? Oh and not to mention that there are too many scenes with full frontal view on the private parts of female characters. I believe that a line should be drawn.
In regards to the story, it was somewhat nice but at the same time, too ordinary for my taste. It didn't get me hooked and despite using the same formula, it's just not working. Most of the scenes are boring and the story only picked up at the last twenty or thirty minutes or so. It didn't have the impact that I was expecting it to have.
Now, I know what you're thinking. The score is 7 so it's supposed to be good in my opinion, right? Then why is it the start of this review is full of rants? Well, my dear reader, the thing is, despite all of the negativity above, I still like this movie. And yes, I'm a bit biased. I just can't hate an anime I've loved since I was fifteen no matter how trashy it was.
But even with the glaring shortcomings of this movie, there are still positive ones.
The art is spectacular. The views and sceneries are just simply amazing. It definitely helped that the quality of the movie that I watched is 1080p. I was able to enjoy the beauty of the art at its finest.
The soundtrack is awesome too. I especially love the Fairy Tail Main Theme.
As for the characters, Juvia is just so adorable as always! I swear to God, every time she appears, she instantly makes the scene better. And I'm not saying this because my profile picture is a chibi version of Gray and Juvia. Definitely not. *cough*
The rest of the Fairy Tail cast is the same as always and I didn't realize how much I miss them till I watched this movie.
Oh and also, if you're an avid shipper like me and if we have the same ships then be sure to watch this. My shipping heart was happy the whole time. There are a lot of moments that are intended for shippers. I truly enjoyed it and I know that you will too. And yes, even Jerza shippers will see a moment that'll make their hearts rejoice. There's a small and minor detail in the movie that I hope you'd notice. Even though it's not a big deal, hey, at least there's still a moment, right? *winks*
Over all, I still somewhat enjoyed the movie despite the awkward transformation sequence, too many fanservice and mundane story. This is still Fairy Tail that I still adore and love. The memorable characters, mesmerizing art, wonderful soundtrack and of course, the power of friendship. These are the things that make Fairy Tail, well, Fairy Tail.
Oh and be sure to watch the post-credits scene! It got me really hyped for the next season of Fairy Tail. I seriously can't wait~

I've always been a fan of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. Ever since I first saw the movie when I was 16, I've always loved it and hated the ending at the same time. I just couldn't accept the fact it ended that way. But even so, I still loved it.
A few years later, I was looking at the manga list of MAL when I saw it: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time... manga?! I was so shocked. And so I checked it out.
It was a short read. It only contained 5 chapters and each chapter has 40+ pages.
Basically, there's this
...
girl named Makoto Konno who can leap through time (hence the title) and every time something happened that she dislike, she'll just jump back. So the plot just centers around that and the fact that there are consequences whenever she "time leaps".
I'm happy that the manga is somewhat different from the movie version that for a while I thought, "Hey. Maybe the manga will give me the very happy and satisfying ending I really want the movie to have!"
I was wrong.
I, an avid fan of the movie, barely understood what happened. I kept on clicking the right arrow button, hoping that a new page would come out instead of the "The End" that was shown on my screen but it was hopeless. When it finally sunk in, I was like "Wait, that's it?!". I have A LOT of questions regarding the ending of the manga. It's a bit better than the ending in the movie (just A BIT) but so confusing and too open-ended.
The plot is almost the same as the movie except for some scenes and the ending of this manga. I also realized that this is even more fast paced and left out a lot of details. I'm just glad I saw the movie first before reading this.
As for the art, I think it's above average compared to other manga.
So now, the question is, is it worth reading? I have two answers depending if you have already seen the movie version or not.
If you haven't seen the movie yet, I suggest that you go and watch it first. The movie explains the "time leap" and the circumstances better than the manga. But well, if you're feeling a bit daring and would like to take a risk, you can go ahead and start reading. You should make sure to still watch the movie though! It's really great!
If you have seen the movie, reading this manga is A MUST. If you're like me who's a bit disappointed on the ending of the movie, you can find a bit of satisfaction by reading this manga. Take note, however, that you should read this from the VERY beginning and not skip to the last chapter. There are some scenes that can be found here that's not in the movie and vice versa. Believe me, I tried to read the last chapter and I didn't understand what was going on. Hence why I suggest that you start from chapter 1.
Overall, despite all of my complaints, I still think that this manga is a good read and is a nice accompaniment for the movie.
