This is a review of the manga Sakaiichi Hatsukoi. Judging from the art we can tell this is a work created by the same Mangaka as the popular Junjou romantica Nakamura Shungiku. As an avid Junjou Romantica fan I was looking forward to a season 3 and was a little disappointed when I found out that there more than likely wouldn't be one but I was ecstatic to hear about this being turned into an anime. For some reason for a while I overlooked the fact that it was a manga.
Story: This is often directly compared to Junjou Romantica, which is a normal
...
thing to do considering its a spin off from junjou and it's drawn by the same mangaka. similarities are expected. There are many similarities I will admit but I still notice the differences. Even so this is common practice when a mangaka has multiple titles. Take Koi Suru boukun for example. the mangaka for that one also has other work, and they are all very similar from the story to the character design, let's face it guys...it happens. but if it's a good story who cares, lets just enjoy it for what it's worth and appreciate the work that the mangaka is putting out for us to enjoy. We are all creatures of repetition.
Art- The art is fantastic. All of the proportions are accurate. I like the art in this one better than that of junjou romantica to be honest. The only problem I have is I'm getting a couple of the characters confused for some reason. i'm getting chiaki and kisa confused but whatever its all good, I got miyagi and nowaki from junjou confused also. Other than that all the characters are hot, which is a plus when you are shallow like me :P
Character- eh like I said above there are very blatant similarities between junjou and hatsukoi but overall I think the characters are well developed and typical of yaoi, I've seen them all before but I've also read a lot of BL and there are cliches here but I still enjoy it.(how many BL mangas say "but we're both men")
Enjoyment- I think of this manga like it's food. Sometimes I find myself sitting on one page for an extended period of time, kinda goes along with saying savoring every bite.
Overall I think this is a very good manga and it's going to be worth purchasing for sure. If you can look past the fact that yes...it is like junjou then you will enjoy this manga. If you enjoyed junjou then you will enjoy this just as much it's still "different" and it's still a very good story.

Originally I didn't plan on watching this. It wasn't something that I felt like I could possibly get into. My close friend was speaking so highly of it one day I decided to give it a try for myself and it was love at first sight. Literally, when I saw the opening sequence is when I fell in love with this anime. I know I shouldn't judge a book by it's cover but this anime has not failed me yet.
A wonderfully beautiful story about some single, virgin, otaku women who all have their own unique obsession. little did they know their world would be
...
completely flipped around by a vibrant and androgynous spoiled kid, generous and with good intent he will introduce them to a world outside of their protective shell which is their dwelling.
The art for this show is mediocre. It all depends on what you would classify as "art" this show is artistic in more ways than just visually.
The sound track so far is fantastic, as stated above, I fell in love with the opening theme instantly. The ending theme also has a certain appropriate feel to it if you know what I'm saying.
All of the characters are wonderfully constructed. Not sure if this is good or bad but I can kinda relate to them in more ways than one(ahem....minus the NEET part). I find myself being attracted to how adorable tsukimi is and I think she is the perfect protagonist to this series.
I wait for this show to come out every week. This weekly release of this show is really the highlight of my day whenever I see it. I have yet to watch an episode that hasn't made me crack up laughing or gush at how adorable the characters are sometimes :)
Overall I believe this anime is absolutely one of the best anime's I've had the pleasure of watching in a very long time. The conclusion to this anime will be bittersweet, I want to see how it will finish up, but at the same time I wish I could watch it forever. I really hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do.

It's been a while since I have watched an anime that moved me to the point of immediately writing a review about it. I'm not going to sit here and over analyze this anime. I hate doing that, and I don't enjoy reviews that are written like that, I'm just going to keep it simple. This anime was fantastic! I actually spent an entire weekend watching it, I don't understand why I'm just now getting around to this I wish I would have found it sooner.
Story- Railgun had a pretty interesting story. Of course I'm not going to go into much detail
...
here I don't want to spoil any of it. It really reminded me of an RPG. There were a few arcs in the anime which were later tied together.
Art- The art was beautiful, very vivid and bright colors. the sceneries were very detailed and the characters were well done, not too over the top but also not too bland.
Sound- This anime has an amazing soundtrack. Only thing I can say I didn't enjoy about the soundtrack was the Op1 and Op2 sound the same lol.
Characters- The characters could have used a little more development but I'm not really complaining. I think it was wonderful how they all had their own personalities, and none of them seemed boring to me. I'm a little bias i'm a sucker for these types of relationships (I'm a huge fan of anime's similar to K-ON). The interaction between the girls was warm and welcoming. all of the personalities were a little cliche but call me crazy for saying this, i like cliche's. there were alot of cute moments between them as well, as well as serious ones and comedic ones.
Enjoyment- Like I said, I'm not going to over analyze this anime. I kinda feel like that will take away some factor of the enjoyment for some. This anime was very easygoing for the most part and there were some action packed moments which will leave you on the edge. It was interesting seeing all the different abilities, would have been nice to see more of them though.
Overall I think that anyone can find enjoyment in this anime. I didn't find much wrong with it, I was skeptical to watch it at first because I read somewhere that it had Yuri undertones, which was wrong imo. The yuri moments were more for comedy it appeared.

As stated by everyone else, yes this is very cliche but a cliche anime does not make it a bad anime in some cases.
The story is not very original at all, but it is still enjoyable for the most part. Very innocent and sweet uke type character, caught in the the middle of what appears to be a triangle.
The art is outstanding, very colorful and pretty detailed at most parts. And as a fujoshi it would be out of character for me not to say that all the men are hot. even the ones who have nothing to little to do with the story
...
were hot :3 Yeah this is my type of anime (yeah, shallow I know). Ok the one thing I DID NOT like was sometimes....their chins are SUPER pointy, and it looks dangerous.
The sound was ok, I like the ending theme but don't care much for the opening. And the BGM is decent.
OK the characters are VERY cliche, you got your innocent uke type, your stoic and bad boy seme type, who is really nice to only the uke. You have your loudmouth hotheaded blonde guy and his lifelong friend who is the only one who can handle him, and of course your "flamboyant" guy that always has a gimmick, in this case he wears hats all the time. Oh and don't forget the cute "pikachu" type animal companion with a very suggestive sounding name.....sodom. Doesn't bother me though, their all hot so its ok.
I do find myself looking forward to sundays when this anime is usually released dubbed so I suppose you can say that overall I do enjoy it. If you are like me, and pretty much find the good in (almost) any anime and enjoy looking at hot men then this is the anime for you. Cliche yes, but very good anime so far!

Where to begin. This anime will take you on a emotional rollercoaster. There will be moments where you will laugh...and moments when you will cry.
The story was wonderful. A very touching high school romance. always managed to keep me on the edge of my seat and leave me disappointed when the episode was over. You know its a good anime if the episode is 24 mins long but it feels like 12.
The art is great, very vivid colors and the characters are well designed.
I loved the soundtrack for this anime. The opening theme is one of my personal favorites. Lia actually
...
does a lot of anime themes and their all pretty good.
I found myself getting attached to all of the characters in this anime. I'm so happy they made 2 seasons of it because we were able to see more development.
I really enjoyed this anime and writing this review only wants to make me go and watch it again. Now this anime is a bit slow at times, so if you're inpatient or you're more into anime with alot of action this one isn't for you. I personally enjoy the slice of life genre so I don't mind the pace. I would recommend this anime to everyone who enjoys a good story.

Ok let me just say right off the bat this is by far one of the most amazing anime movies I have ever seen. Normally, I do not like anime movies. There are very few exceptions to this rule for example Howl's moving castle, Girl who leaps through time etc, but this movie got me more hyped up than I have ever been in a very long time.
The story is fantastic, it kept me engaged through out the entire movie.
The are is simply amazing, all of the characters look awesome and the details in the backgrounds, evas, and cities are top notch.
...
The animation is breathtaking, this movie has some of the most amazing animation I have seen in a long while. All of the fights are incredibly well animated.
The score for this movie is perfect. Every song fits in its respective place. I would definitely recommend picking up a copy of this OST.
As you can see I really really really enjoyed this movie, I don't care who you are or what you feel about evangelion, or anime for that matter I think anyone can find enjoyment in this movie.

OK this is going to be fun. I only watched this anime because it got such horrible reviews and I was curious. I told my self "self...we're gonna watch that anime, and write an unbiased review about it" so thats what I'm doing. I did not let the opinions of others sway me. This anime is just plain bad....
Story: wow as the others said WHAT STORY?! there is absolutely no plot. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy a plotless anime here and there. I don't ALWAYS have high standards when it comes to plot, I can find enjoyment in anything.
...
But I had no idea what was going on the whole damn time.
Art: ok the art wasn't horribile but it was unoriginal, and I feel like I've seen the male character somewhere before. and those aliens...all I can think about the whole time was "I'M A FIRIN MY LAZAR"
Sound: someone please tell me wtf was up with the random classical scores...
Enjoyment: u know what, I did enjoy this anime. it was very entertaining. the level of fail associated with this anime made it a comedy to me. ESPECIALLY when the chicks were fighting the aliens or whatever they are, and they all just stood there until someone got her head blown off, and thats when they decided to do start shooting.
Overall: worst anime ever......EVER. worse than eiken and real bout high school(but thats a different story)

First off I would like to say when I first watched this some years ago when it first came out, I wasn't impressed with it. I watched the first couple of episodes and thought "great....another Naruto."
I decided to give this anime a second chance after I read a few chapters of the Manga a couple days ago and I couldn't have been more wrong about the Naruto Comparison. Their nothing alike. They do share some common grounds but I do see some major differences.
I thought that the best thing about this anime was not its action because it was lacking in that aspect,
...
but its story. The story was simply amazing and it kept me engaged throughout the entire series. I couldn't stop watching them :D. There was so much conflict going on it kept you wondering who was helping who.
The art was unique and I love it. LOL when I first watched this anime I didn't appreciate it because I thought Miharu was ridiculously skinny. But looking at it again after seeing the Manga it didn't bother me. The characters are so stylish and actually change their clothes occasionally. Their fashion sense in this anime remind me of Bleach. Bleach always had well dressed characters also.
The friendship that developed between all of the characters was touching. It kind of makes me envious of the bond that Yoichi and Miharu developed.
The opening theme is amongst one of my favorites. Very catchy and upbeat. and the background music was excellent. I loved the end theme as well very touching.
As you can tell I enjoyed this anime. I'm glad that i decided to give it another shot it was worth it. I had heard rumors that it was dry and boring but I didn't think so. I'm the type who doesn't mind sacrificing action and fighting scenes for a compelling story.
Overall I would recommend this anime to everyone who enjoys a good story(and bishies :3) LOL this is one of the few anime that actually *ahem* made me "cry".....well I didn't cry but I did get a little watery eyed at the ending scene. (also the scene at the end after they visit the house with the garden)

WOW WHERE DO I BEGIN!?
If I could give this series a 0, I would....but 1 is as low as I can go so it will have to do.
The story is so overplayed and unoriginal, how many animes are gonna be made like this?
The art is annoying, I understand the genre it portrays but cmon guys.....that is ridiculous. The girls breasts are just...too...big. I thought I could deal with it, but then the loli character walked out with boobs that are equally as large and robust as the older characters and I just couldn't take it....
Characters....should I even bother....no
Enjoyment...*laugh* you know I can't even lie
...
here, I DID NOT enjoy this anime, but I did enjoy making fun of it and laughing at its tremendous level of FAIL all the way through.
Overall I'm ashamed I had to add this anime into my list. I think this was my least favorite anime ever........EVER!

I just ran across this OVA today. I recently started reading the AMG manga again, and did a little bit of scouting around on BakaBT and found this OVA.
Okay let's start off with the story. I think the Story was quite enjoyable but little bit rushed. I think they could have dragged it on for maybe 1 more episode and covered more. Overall it was sufficient and didn't take away from the OVA at all. I certainly wouldn't tell people not to watch it because the story was rushed and it may leave you confused, because it doesn't, it covers
...
enough, but more would have been great.
As for the art, I'm never disappointed with the art from AMG, I'm always impressed with the details in the environment and the character designs. The goddesses ares always so beautiful :D
The score was actually quite impressive to me, all of the music fit all of the scenes.
As one of the other reviewers said, some of the characters had such little role in this ova that they could have been left out. I agree...to an extent but I do see why they were relevant to the story. I know peaorth(excuse me if I spelled that wrong lol) didn't say or do much but I see why they needed her to be in it. I wish it would have revolved around skuld more though.
I really enjoyed this anime, and I will probably watch it again :P One thing I did not like.....towards the end, what could have turned into amazing fight scenes was reduced to still shots....that is quite depressing. I would certainly recommended this to ALL AMG fans and also to people who may not have seen AMG before :P
