Having watched hundreds of anime, especially Shonen anime, honestly I didn't expect any series to make me binge watch it, however Kingdom took me by surprise, this season especially made me extremely emotional, In war death always wins.....the backstory of the opponents whom Shin and Kanki's army face in this season is so good, personally it made me root for them, every character has their own intentions for fighting and it makes you wonder who is good and who is evil in the end?
Apart from the story, Shin's character development across the entire series is rewarding to watch, Shin is a way more complex character
...
than most Shonen protagonists. Kyou kai, Ka Ryo Ten, Bi Hei, En san....all the other supporting characters go through their own growth/development in this season which is extremely satisfying to watch to say the least.
Battles are my favorite part of this series, even though its the one to one battles between the generals that decide most of the outcomes during wars, but wars in Kingdom feel more like a game of chess, especially Kanki's thoughts and strategies are unique, this season makes you understand why Kanki is comparable with Chin's 6 great generals.
Long story short, I can't believe I haven't heard of Kingdom for long, I can confidently say this series as a whole is a masterpiece which will stay rent free in my head for years and I can't recommend it enough, just watch it, you will be thankful that you did!
