After reading a lot of positive comments about this anime, especially about the after story I decided to watch it. I am going to try to write this review as spoiler free as possible.
In general, I can just say that I am very disappointed, I expected much more out of something that is so famous. The thing I disliked the most was the girls that are supposed to be in their senior high school year are acting like 10 year-olds. Also, the obsolete story about a delinquent falling in love with very kind (and sick) girl is kind of tedious and some parts are

simply out of reality not in a supernatural way, but as an aberration of everyday life.
Story [6/10]: Taken in consideration the idea of this anime it can be good, this one didn’t end up as being a success. First, we have one girl that was sick for a year and returns to school, but she knows no one, she meets the so-called delinquent and they start hanging out. He starts hanging out with other girls that is too much harem like, not because of Tomoya being friends with girls, but because almost all of the girls like him and try to date him, and this part is definitely too surreal. And while Tomoya has his harem, Sunohara is the black sheep in the group and he is lampooned constantly by everyone. Other thing in the story that is kind of surreal is that everyone is just too naïve, credulous and too good to be true.
Art [8/10]: I like the graphics, it looked pretty nice. The only thing I don’t like is that Sanae and Akio look as old as the high school students, while Tomoya’s father looks too old. I am not much competent in art theory, so I think everything else I would say would not be worth a lot.
Sound[7/10]: I consider that the sound overally wasn’t bad. But, the Dango Dango Big Family was definitely obliterating every possible part of it, my ears just couldn’t deal with it.
Character[4/10]: I would like to keep this not so long, so, long story short, most of the characters are poorly developped and as I have already written up, act like 10 years old while they’re supposed to be older, they are all so naïve, honest and their deeds are always out of kindness and understanding and morally acceptable.
Tomoya is the delinquent who gets to hang out with girls. He wants to help Nagisa with the Theatre club. He is a kind guy, but he is lazy and blithe after not being able to chase after his dream. His character seems to be good. Sunohara is his best friend and his companian in procrastinating, skipping school and doing nothing but wasting time, but Sunohara always gets beaten because of being a harangue and his arrogance, he is also one harbinger for trouble. Nagisa, in my opinion the worst character in this anime, is one very naïve and lonely girl, who blames everything on her debilities, she is also a crybaby that needs Tomoya to help her with everything. Kyou and Ryou the twins, both the opposite character of the other and their resemblance is barely noticeable, Kyou is strong willed and a bully, but Ryou is a crybaby. Tomoyo is the strong willed, ambitious and cool, but in the same time notorious for beating everyone in the last school she went to. Kotone is the super smart genius that is afraid of everyone but Tomoya and is not even capable to present herself and needs to practice that. Fuuko is the adorable girl that acts like 4 year old girl that brings Tomoya and Nagisa closer. Sanae and Akio, look and act like they’re teenagers, and not like parents of a teenager, their house eventually becomes a guesthouse for everyone that needs a place to stay. Tomoya’s father is barely developped and we don’t get to know the reasons for the state his is in.
Enjoyment[6/10]: I cannot say that I enjoyed it, but, still, it wasn’t that bad. I could laugh of the stupidities that happen in there and the childhood acting of the characters. The parts where the girl alone in the world appears is definitely an excess and I think it needed to be at least a little bit cleared what is it in the end in order to increase my curiosity.
Overall[5/10]: To keep it short, I wouldn’t rewatch this anime, neither will I recommend it to someone who likes something that is real about the life in high school. Many of the character stories are left incomplete, so I guess After Story will get to clear them out, but, I consider that they could be cleared in this first season. I don’t want to repeat myself so, I will end this review here. I hope you find it helpful.

This is the first review that I write, so I will try my best.
I can say that I loved this series. The story is very good, it is tense, it is fun, it makes you think what the next move will be, but, I must be honest I didn't like the end, I am Team Light. Characters were very well developed, at least most of them. L was extremely good, but they overdid it with Near, I mean, L was supposed to be better than him, but Near solved the case too fast, even with the help of L's notes, it was too much. ... |
