Despite what others have said, the main character's behavior is not outlandish. He was bullied and used by the other kids and the only person that talked to him rejected him. Throughout the story, instances are hinting that he still may have lingering feelings for her. Which would make sense considering his ability to hold a grudge for multiple years and especially remembering the event. While people view the main character as pathetic and thus use that to hate the character it is clear that he still never got over what happened when he was younger. Likewise neither did the girl. ... Also, people don’t realize that there was ultimately an irony in the actions of the main character. Despite his focus on his desired revenge goal, he was actually getting his “revenge” throughout the entire show.


Ultimately, the characters while they may appear irritating to the average person, should not be seen as unrealistic. People in real life act similarly to them quite often. The anime namely focuses on the effects that their childhoods had on them. They never got over their childhoods so, you are seeing the effects firsthand. Someone’s childhood can easily affect someone’s behavior. While it doesn’t justify it because it is not supposed to. It explains quite a bit about why they do what they do. After all, emotions are commonly seen as illogical and complicated.

How many people do you know still remember their crush in middle school even in adulthood? If a child can face traumatic events that still affect them in adulthood then it is possible that someone could be hurt enough to remember a rejection especially if that influenced their future behavior. While I was shocked at first, I managed to piece that together.

The anime most definitely has a series of funny and serious moments. While it is officially listed as a comedy. Having something primarily focused on jokes wouldn’t make for a good story. As this anime is the first 29 chapters of the manga as stated in the background information it makes sense that it doesn’t reach an actual conclusion. A lot of times, animes are used to advertise manga.

It is common for people to take what is being shown at face value and are blinded by their perspectives to fully understand what is happening on screen. To sum up his actions, he still has unrealized feelings about her and that is where his desire to get revenge is coming from. I love the complexity where the watcher is forced to analyze their behavior and come up with predictions based on it.

During my review for part 1, I included a couple of questions. Of that question only "For example, how did a 34-year-old manage to stay in his unstable state without anyone including his parents attempting to help him?" was answered. The parents did attempt to help him with his problems. Yet, he pushed them away and acted badly on them.

In fact, the second part is focused on family. The character, story, and enjoyment ratings of my first review have changed. As I am not allowed or rather recommended not to write any spoilers I will have to take great measures to explain the problems ... of the story and characters.

The main character simply acts oblivious and arrogant at their core. From mocking his new dad Paul in the new world to running his mouth when danger is around. While Paul does act similar to the main character somehow it is rather bad coming from said character.

Take for example a scene where his dad looks horrible and constantly drinks. The majority of the people would find this odd, especially considering the location and method of their meeting. Yet our brave hero completely ignores this and decides to make his journey look awesome. Not for his dad's sake of course but to make himself look good. Then still ignoring his dad's appearance he proceeds to accuse his father of cheating on his mother again. Granted his father does pull his usual thing from Season 1 but his actions say enough. That is the bulk of what I can say about the character without revealing any spoilers. If you are curious about more you will either have to watch it yourself (good luck) or if you are really curious send me a message.

The story then reveals countless family reunions and relationships. Of course, they end up having a bunch of tired cliches. I am different than everyone else so I am a burden and you must marry x for y.

To be frank, the only real highlight was the main character nearly getting killed. Hopefully, the memory of this anime gets discarded in my mind.

I am going to write the truth and only the truth. I will choose to focus on why the rankings are what they are.

Character: 2
Truth be told I find the addition of his pedophilia and perverted mindset to be not shocking per se but rather confusing. Simply because it comes out of nowhere. He is isolated in his room but somehow puts a camera in a bathroom. He was constantly bullied and endured sexual harassment yet he has such a high level of perverted feelings and complete disrespect for other people's privacy. Weirdly enough they put a 34-year-old in a child's body yet he doesn't ... have anything resembling any form of maturity this is indicated in how he thinks mentally about Paul and the plans that he comes up with. To me, he is a kid or at most a teen. This is to the point where I am constantly annoyed with the character. He did die saving someone so I will give him that. But, as mentioned there are points where his actions don't fit his character. This annoys me to the point where if the anime was solely focused on him I would have dropped it.

Sound: 8 & Art: 9
Both the sound and art were perfect. I simply had no complaints about them.

Story & Enjoyment: 3
Unlike many people's feelings on the matter, I am more annoyed about how they made his backstory. There are simply too many plot holes for the backstory to make sense. For example, how did a 34-year-old manage to stay in his unstable state without anyone including his parents attempting to help him? If what was on his computer was what is commonly suspected for it to be then how come his relatives just kicked him out instead of beating him or arresting him. The story just relies primarily on fanservice and has poor writing. Essentially, the story would have made sense if you replaced the current character with a young teen or kid and completely removed his family. Having them present just doesn't add up. This review also applies to some of part 2.

It is terrible. I have gotten to episode 7 and seen a preview of episode 8. The Characters act like toddlers. They have no sense of security and will allow Zombies to bite them. The governments are flawed and have no idea of working together.
Story - The story is awful and the beginning is dreadful. The story never explains how anything happened.
Art - The art is good and looks like modern animes.
Sound - The music is creepy and fits the scene and spine-chilling.
Character - The Students act dumb and give up their lives and the teachers don't assist in helping.
Enjoyment - It was more me ... complaining 99% of the time than me enjoying it. The fanservice was ridiculous too. There is a thing called too much.
