Vividred Operation is a series about a group of girls saving their planet from otherworldly beings. Now while a plot description like that may not make the series sound unique or complex, it can be an enjoyable series for those who want an action and friendship series that does not have a convoluted plot and those who like a series with pretty girls and fanservice mixed in. With the show only being 12 episodes long, the formation of our four main girls as a team and the development of their friendship may feel rushed. But sufficient information is given about their lives, personalities, and the

events that led them to come together to set them apart as characters as well as their reasons for why they became friends and teammates. As the girls fight each new enemy, the story slowly unfolds the reason behind the random attacks of these otherworldly beings as well as the motivations of a mysterious young girl that appears to be helping these beings.
The art style of this series gives the girls a cute appearance but some individuality. The cuteness, however, does not take away from the intensity and excitement of the action element. There can be some noticeable use of CGI. But overall, the animation is fluid and the art has a fresh look. The background art was nice and suited each scene we saw the characters in.
The voice acting was done well to where I could immerse myself into the personal struggles, fun times, and fights that our characters were involved in. The background music was decent and fit different situations within the story. I liked the opening song of the series. I was not able to see the ending song for each episode, however, since they were edited.
When we are introduced to each of the four main girls, they are presented with a flaw that that they eventually overcome. Some also have strengths that are unique to them. I cannot say that there was any character among the girls that I related to. But nevertheless, I enjoyed their interactions with one another as friends.
One of the girls gets a chance to shine outside of our protagonist’s shadow and two other girls get some development in their friendship. Some of the girls have a little more depth to their character than others. But beyond them, the backstory of our mysterious female aid is interesting as well. As far as the enemy themselves, not much depth is given to them beyond their motivations for attacking the world of our heroines. They seem to prefer to keep themselves hidden and not carry out their plans directly.
There were some members of the supporting cast that had some relevance more than others, such as some characters involved in the military that worked with our heroines. The most memorable characters from this series for me would probably be Akane, our main protagonist, and Rei, our mysterious aid to the enemy. I gravitate towards Akane the most out of the four girls because of her bright and lively personality. But that is not to say that the other girls did not have some enjoyability to them. As for Rei, the fact that it takes much longer to know her character compared to our four main girls gives her an advantage in being remembered more.
This is a series where I can see people being divided in their enjoyment of it. There is a heavy amount of fanservice such as angles on butts, girls in very short pants, and some nudity. It may be distracting for some and unwanted by others. But there may be those who might enjoy the fanservice as well as the action and friendship between our heroines. For those type of people, I would highly recommend this series.
I had a fun time with it. The action and bonds formed between our characters was enjoyable. The fanservice also did not bother me. I even found it comedic at times. This would be a memorable series for me just for how every element of the story came together and made for a dramatic, exciting, and pleasing ending for our characters.
