Okay so first of all, I would like to acknowledge that I am honestly not one for critiquing things and to be honest with you, I will watch just about anything you put in front of me that moves.

For starters, I just wanna say that this isn't a terrible anime. Is it predictable? Yes, but combined with a good art style and decent sound track, it gets a little bit better. Not to mention that it's got the typical reverse harem which will always appeal to a certain kind of audience (You know who you are), but I actually do like some of the ... aspects of this anime and despite what I said, it has kept my interest in it so far so let me talk about some of the good qualities of Magic-Kyun!:

To begin with, this is an anime about a school of artists who make magical sparkles with whatever form of art they work in. That's right, it's not real magic, more like some kind of metaphor, but I still like what the creators are trying to do here. Seeing as people who make anime to begin with are artists themselves who are generally not as well recognized for their hard work as they should be, I think it's a great thing that they're trying to portray art as a form of magic. In a way, it is magic too. You're creating something beautiful out of nothing just like the pretty little sparkles and not only that but in Magic-Kyun! the sparkles also become more brilliant the better the artist is (which is probably another metaphorical thing).

The other thing I liked about this anime, which is probably pretty trivial, was that the main character and leader of the man-harem, Aigasaki, is pretty basic in terms of animes like this one minus the fact that she's a flower arranger??? For whatever reason, this is the thing that has amused me the most throughout the entire anime because I had never really thought of flower arranging as an art form before this. It kinda makes me wonder what else could be a media of art but as of now, I'm just appreciating learning more about the flower-arranging world.

All in all, this is definitely not an anime for everyone and it's by no means perfect, but if it's something you think you might be interested in, why not give it a try?

I could spend HOURS talking about this manga, and I really do mean hours. This is by far one of my favorites and I'm actually gonna keep this short simply to get my point across:
If you're wondering whether or not to read Kamisama Hajimemashita, read it.
I guess it might not be for everyone but this is not your typical shoujo manga. The main character, Nanami, is a strong, independant female role and although she seems weak and incapable at first, she continues to push on throughout the entirety of the manga. Although this world she is introduced to is new and confusing, she makes ... an effort to understand everyone and help even if she is not always totally prepared to do so. Over the course of the story, you can see real development in her character and her abilities as her knowledge of this new realm expands.
Tomoe, Nanami's familiar is another story entirely but in the end I also came to love him too. You can genuinely see Nanami's effect on him as he grows and changes by her side.
The other characters are equally as lovable and they all have their own stories to tell. You will fall in love with them and cry with them.
Finally the story in general is just fantastic. You will enter the world of Gods and Yokai and still be reminded of the struggles of the human world and the overall inevitable.
Finishing the last chapter today, I feel like I can truly walk away having learned something.
A warning to those of you who are like me and become committed to the manga but also, unfortunately, can only speak/read english, translations for this manga are slow as of now but there are other ways to find the later installments if you are persistent ;)

Okay so Ghost Hunt is by far not perfect in any way but it is definitely one of my favorite mangas. This series has a completely different vibe than any other manga I've read (To be fair I actually haven't read a ton) and the anime adaptation also carries this vibe.
To begin with the team of characters that the story follows all have equally interesting and important roles, even though Mai and Naru are the main two. Mai is personally the most relatable and through her we are able to learn more and more about the world of paranormal investigation.
All of the stories ... in the manga are filled with interesting lore from various cultures and extremely creative plots that never once seemed repetitive to me.
The thing that really got me was the idea that the manga got across, especially at the end. The anime is interesting and a good way to pass time but after reading the manga, everything really does come together and the ending is a message that I will never forget.
IMO you could read the manga and then watch the anime if you really wanted to but I watched the anime first. This is what sparked my interest in Ghost Hunt to begin with and led me to the manga. Considering that the anime does not have the last couple of volumes of the manga, I think it's a perfect way to start.
