Well, both are about young girls, who train hard to achieve their goals - become better at the sport they do. In both there is some love, 'cuz of course - the main charcters fall in love like normal teens in animes. In Ginban Kaleidoscope the sport is figure skating, in Hikari no Densetsu there's rhythmic gymnastics. Both sports are IMO quite girlish/womanish and the anime are, I think, for girls too. In both anime there is shown a really hard and difficult way to become a champion. There are sweat, blood and tears and also - really good competitors. The sport is mixed with grils' feelings - and related with sport also!
