A good step up from the first season of the show.
The storylines were more consistently interesting than the first season. The main plot was good, and very tight, with little deviations into slice-of-life or romance and few slower episodes, which means I was consistently interested from start-to-finish. It had a darker tone compared to the original Digimon Adventure, and while i'm not one to say "DARKER=BETTER" (I mean, I really like Cardcaptor Sakura) in this case it worked to the show's benefit as it provided a lot of interesting episodes, such as the (allegedly) H.P. Lovecraft-inspired Dark Ocean stuff, or Ken's backstory.
The dialogue was
...
less cringe-worthy than the first season, as the over-reliance on bad puns (at least in the dub) was either reduced or I just got used to them (might be a little bit of both), and a good amount of the humor I found funny, which I can't really say for season 1. By the same token, there was a good number of genuinely moving moments. The fight scenes were nothing special, but were fine.
There were still a number of problems which prevented me from giving it a higher grade. I did not like Davis, though I might be biased because in the dub his voice was very strained and constantly cracking, which I found very annoying. In addition, while the majority of the show ranged from decent-good, very few episodes went above that. A big factor was that like the first season I found the animation and art largely mediocre, and that put a damper on it in a lot of ways. A lot of the fight scenes weren't as exciting as they should be, a lot of intense scenes were nowhere near as intense as they should be, and there were very few scenes which looked particularly cool.
But overall, it was a good season. Anyone who liked the first season should like this one as well.

A great first season of the show.
The storylines were consistently interesting throughout, with the exception of a few slice-of-life/romance episodes, and seamlessly blended realism and fantasy elements in a satisfactory manner (as opposed to being "slice-of-life THEN fantasy", they were intertwined). The show did a great job of showing just how unfamiliar the whole situation was to it's protagonists (especially in regards to Yuji and Kazumi), and conveyed their shock at the truth about the world and themselves very well.
The fight scenes were consistently exciting, and the emotional moments usually hit their mark. Humor didn't really, though there were some moments. The animation and
...
direction were great throughout the show, the art-style and character designs were great and cute, and the soundtrack (provided by Kow Otani) was excellent.
Of course, it had some flaws. There was some unfortunate moments of fanservice that I could do without, and I could definitely do without the creepy insectuous couple of Sorath and Tiriel. The love triangle between Yuji, Shana, and Kazumi was boring and unnecessary. And while the first eight episodes and last seven were all good-great, the middle nine episodes were much patchier, with a few dull slice-of-life and romance-themed episodes and a flashback arc that was okay but definitely didn't need to last 3 episodes.
However, those flaws were small issues, and the show was great as a whole. i'd definitely recommend it to anyone who likes "urban fantasy" (namely, fantasy with a realistic, modern setting).

A great Pokemon movie, and one of the best.
The storyline was very cool and interesting throughout. I particularly lean towards both the Pokemon movies with the biggest, most "epic" plots, and the more sci-fi esque ones, and this delivered on both fronts. Thus, I enjoyed the story a lot throughout, and it also helped that unlike some other movies, it got into it right from the beginning as opposed to padding it out.
The fight scenes were great, especially the excellently done battle between the four Legendaries. There was also some cute/funny scenes with Pikachu, Piplup, and other Pokemon (especially Spiky-Eared Pichu, who was adorbz) which
...
provided good comic relief.
And like most Pokemon movies, the animation and direction were excellent. Some of the painfully obvious CGI was a bit eye-rolling, but it was only a minor flaw, as the rest looked great and there was a lot of really nicely animated and cool scenes throughout the movie. And like usually, the climactic scenes were intense and exciting.
Overall, not quite the very best in the series, but definitely in the top half. Any fan of the franchise should like this a lot.

A solid sequel to Cardcaptor Sakura.
Like the original series, the plots were mostly interesting throughout, with the exception of the slice-of-life episodes, and it once again remained very tight, without any filler, a benefit of the short (22 episodes) length.
The art-style was still great, and the updated, modern animation looked excellent. The show remained strong at delivering humorous and emotional moments, and the action scenes were usually exciting.
Only problem, aside from the aformentioned slow, slice-of-life episodes, was that it recycled many plots from the original series. Many of the Clear Cards Sakura captures have the same function as the cards captured in the original series.
...
As well, (though not a flaw per se) once again while it was good in most aspects it wasn't really great in most, and as a result while most episodes were good, few were above that.
Regardless, I enjoyed it, and I would recommend it to anyone who liked the original series.

A pretty unnecessary special.
What made it so was that it was just a retelling of the final episode of the original show, for the most part, with the exception of the final scene. As well, it was predominantely slice-of-life, which I didn't enjoy either.
But it wasn't all bad. The new updated animation looked great throughout, providing several lovely scenes. There was also some very good emotional scenes, especially at the end, and some funny ones as well. There was also a few nice parts which broke from the slice-of-life mold. with Yukito/Yue.
But some nice moments weren't enough to make it good as a whole. Despite
...
that, however, I would recommend it to viewers starting the Clear Card series, as it does set up the story decently.

Though weaker than the first three seasons, this was significantly better than SuperS, and a fine close to the series as a whole.
The main weakness was that mid-section, while decent, was not particularly good. It had the same problem as the majority of SuperS, in that much too many episodes in that stretch could be summed up as "slice of life for 10-15 minutes, then monster battle", which I didn't really like. Though only a few of those episodes were bad, as the show's humor remained a strong point and was enough to at least partially salvage many of those.
However, the season started and ended
...
on strong notes. The Queen Nehellenia arc was great from start to finish, being intense and exciting throughout, with the cool animation expected from the show's more dramatic episodes. As well, the final Sailor Galaxia arc, the culmination of the series as a whole, was excellent. Sailor Galaxia was a great villain, and with the stakes higher than ever the show delivered excellently, with several episodes of ranking very high in terms of my favorites, especially the finale.
The other positives of the past seasons remained. The humor, as mentioned, remained a strong point, the show stayed great at delivering emotional moments when need be, the action scenes were usually exciting if formulaic, and the overall direction and animation were excellent, especially in the aformentioned climactic episodes.
Overall, though flawed, a solid conclusion to my favorite anime series i've seen yet, and one any fan should be happy with.

A good show overall.
The storylines were usually interesting. I am very fond of "fantasy events in realistic world" shows as a whole and so I usually enjoyed the plotlines a lot. However, it was somewhat inconsistent in the story department as there was many dull slice of life episodes centering around the main characters doing ordinary kid stuff, and I didn't like those at all. I was impressed, however, with how tight the storyline is. There was pretty much no filler- even the slice-of-life episodes usually had something important happen, whether it be the capture of a new Clow Card/Sakura Card or a new character
...
introduced.
The show was good in delivering funny and emotional moments, which saved several episodes from what would otherwise be mediocrity. The action scenes weren't spectacular for the most part, and somewhat formulaic, but they were usually at least decent, and could be exciting on many occasions. However, it wasn't really stellar in those aspects, which is no sin but meant that while there was a lot of decent-good episodes, very few episodes rose above "very good".
The animation and art-style looked great, the kind of "cute" look that could be seen as generic but I really like nonetheless.
Most of the characters were good, my favorites being Keroberos overall (adorbs), and Syaoran and Yukito of the human characters. The only one I didn't like much was Tomoyo, who's personality was very one-note (pretty much "likes making outfits for Sakura" and "likes filming Sakura on her escapades").
But the most impressive part of the show, at least for me, was that they managed to make a romance arc that I actually enjoyed a lot of. For the most part, I don't like romantic plotlines at all, and yet I managed to enjoy a lot of the Sakura/Syaoran arc. There was a lot of funny/cute moments that came from it, and it was only near the end (coincidentially the part of the arc that I don't like) that it really intruded on the main storyline.
Overall, a good show, and one i'd recommend to anyone who likes magical girl or urban fantasy series.

Though a step down from the Darkrai movie, still a good movie overall.
The storyline was somewhat mixed. Though I found all the stuff with the Reverse World really cool (i'm a sucker for "another dimension" plots so I loved this), a lot of the time was spent on a generic "guy tries to capture Pokemon" premise, which I didn't really find very interesting. As well, though Shaymin was cute, I also found him very annoying.
However, it had plenty of other good aspects to compensate. The animation was good throughout. Though the CGI looked really bad (I don't get why they use CGI when the 2D
...
animation looks so much better and doesn't mesh at all), the 2D animation looked very nice, and there was a lot of very well-done and lovely scenes. There was a lot of great and exciting action scenes throughout, and the ending scene was very emotional. And in the grand tradition of the series, the climax was excellently done.
Overall, though flawed, this was a good movie overall, and one i'd recommend to any fan of the franchise.

Though a pretty good season as a whole, a big step down from past seasons of the show.
One of the main things dragging it down is the much higher concentration on romance. I really don't like romance plots, and while the show did a good job of mostly confining the romance-centered episodes to fillers earlier, here romantic plots are prominent in most episodes, especially with the Amazon Trio's constant flirting with the characters of the day, and I didn't enjoy them at all.
As well, compared to earlier seasons the plots were less interesting and more slow. Many episodes spent the first 10-15 minutes with
...
slice-of-life or romance stuff, with the Monster of the Week stuff only happening at the end, and I didn't really enjoy that.
Yet, despite all that, most of the episodes were at least decent (though few rose above "good"). The main overarching plot was very cool as usual, and most episodes were interesting for at least half. As well, the humor of the show was more prominent than before and worked well, many otherwise boring episodes were lifted up just by how funny they were. The action scenes were their usual high quality and the animation looked great. And there was some great emotional moments at the end.
And despite the weaknesses the show still managed to pull off some great episodes, such as the final episode of the Amazon Trio arc, and most of the ending episodes (though they weren't up to the standard of the amazing climaxes of past seasons).
Overall, weaker than the others but still fine. People who liked the first three seasons will probably like this, but proceed with caution.

Another great season of the show.
Once again, the stories were consistently interesting. One thing that sticks out about this season is that it had a significantly darker tone than the prior two seasons, with new characters Haruka/Sailor Uranus and Michiru/Sailor Neptune being much more morally ambiguous than other characters in the show, and the whole situation with Hotaru/Sailor Saturn as well. This largely worked to the show's benefit, providing a lot of great episodes. The only flaw is that sometimes the monsters-of-the-week plots largely followed a formula, but it was a good formula which they got good mileage out of, and I didn't really get
...
bored by it.
The other factors that made the past seasons good were good here as well. The action scenes remained exciting and tense when they were used, the show remained great at delivering humorous or emotional moments (the latter especially was shown well thanks to the season's darker tone), and the art and animation looked very nice. The characters remained good too, as in particular Haruka is one of my favorites in the show.
And once again, there were several episodes that put it all together and knocked it out of the park, culminating in the stunning climax episode.
Overall, a great season of the show. Anyone who liked the first two should definitely watch this.
