It's rare to see the MC being the one and only bad character in an anime, or perhaps it is just he is bad compared to every single other character.
This MC is well past Sakura levels of uselessness, idiocy, crying and frustration.
If you can get past that (perhaps with the aid of some skipping/skimming then maybe this would be an enjoyable 8/10 anime), but unfortunately that makes it impossible to rate it above 5
Other reasons it is not enjoyable:
- too many padded ("previously") intros make near a 1/4 of episodes not new content
- there's a lot of the MC explaining in words what
...
the viewer has already received as adequate explanation from the anime
- Story/Time travel, it is what it is, thinking about it more just makes the show worse
- Over grown middle-schoolers trope, i don't mind this actually but it is very fanciful and could be immersion-breaking for many
Good things:
- I quite like the art, it's not "beautiful" but it is fairly clean
- Animation is frankly, excellent, better than many popular fighting anime that I've seen, outside fight scenes it is adequately smooth
- Easy best-girl/waifu nomination
- Many badass characters for your inner 13year old self to look up to
- Subs that i've seen seem very good
