Currently sitting at 8/10 awaiting to see if they stick the landing.
Firstly DO NOT 3 episode rule this show. Episodes 1-3 don’t really prepare you for the following episodes. I didn’t like the first 4 episodes myself thought this was going to be some throwaway anime with teenagers battling the world, monsters, and puberty.
The show has really developed in a way that requires the viewer to think about what they just watched. There are minor plot points that, while they develop the characters, the viewer also has to process and come to terms with. However if the viewer isn’t engaged then they will miss what
...
really make this show special.
Artwork and story progression are top tier. The animation, music, and direction really comes together in a way that stimulates emotions that other show this season might not have. Personally the experience of watching “From the New World” keeps playing back when thinking on how to describe this show. They are similar in the fact that they are coming of age stories in a some what dystopian future with gifted children and a society that is not all it seems.
All in all highly recommend watching this show in a binge-able fashion rather than weekly. Be ready to have opinions on somewhat relevant topics of modern society and remember that this show comes from a Japanese perspective feather than a Western Eurocentric one.
See you, Bye-Bye.

Holy Heck, there's a lot to unpack here. This is a modern Masterpiece, a Greek tragedy set in the distant future. The viewer explores all aspects of the human psyche thru the medium of an android. There's relationship building, self-sacrifice, mental instability, martial arts, time travel, death and destruction. We very well may have the greatest Sci-Fi of the 21st century.
I can't recommend this enough. A Perfect Binge. The actions scenes utilize little to no 3-D animation that disrupts the key visuals, and are virtually seamless in transition. Beautifully executed action through out. Not just some twist on the Idol genre. Also absolute Bangers on
...
this Soundtrack.
Vivy reawakens classical western literature by taking aspects from the likes of Homer, Shakespeare and some more modern authors like Phillip, Dick. (Blade Runner).

I cant Stress enough that this is not worth your time if you are a long time anime fan. You basically have seen the whole show already. Back Arrow is one of the worst anime to come out this year. Mostly because of how good theyear has been for Anime.
The story is very un-original, mirroring that of Gurren Lagann and Darling in the Franxx. Taking plot points from FLCL, Promised Neverland and AoT. So should be good right?
*Possible spoilers for those who are really good at reading into things*
I am extremely disappointed that I watched this. Mostly due to the fact someone said. "Look!
...
Look at this show. Give it 24 episodes to tell this less than mediocre story. Its about living in a world where the people are born to die for a greater being. That uses us like cattle. Lets fight among ourselves until we can unify against a force that threatens to destroy our world. A a savior falls from the heavens and leads us on a path to take our futures into our own hands. Is there a little love triangle wait how about two? Boom! Now one is a Love Square thing. Ok lets just not resolve the characters feelings for each other and have them go to Space! Like all the good coming of age Mech anime!"
All in all however this anime probably should be watched by new fans of the anime medium. This could be their Gurren Lagann or Darling. So I can't give this less then 5/10

This anime was not on my Initial to watch list. I just so happened to come across the poster for it while browsing the internet. I am a fan of world culture so I recognized the shamisen and said I'll check it out. Maybe it will be like "Our Shinning Days" but Japanese. After watching it, I can't wait for each new release. The Show is actually incredible! Enjoyment 10/10
Story
The first episode felt as if I had watched an entire series.
The second felt as if I watched entire character development arc's.
The third and forth are the first time you see the story directly adapt
...
from the previous episode and have an over reaching Sub-plot. With the main plot still prevalent each ep.
The fifth episode is very basic plot/development wise. It feels like the may be trying to focus on the music too much now. If this continues it might drop down to a 7-8/10
Yes the sixth episode had some plot important minor character development. the show is keeping its entertainment value wile also continuing its speed run of anime clichés.
My big takeaway of the story is that it seems to have a starting point somewhere in the middle of Ep.2
Art
The art is pretty basic. It looks like it would have been high-budget a few years ago, however w/ the quality and caliber of the last two years of anime its not of the same level.
That is not to say it is bad. It has the usual charm expected of its Genre-class.
Sound
Are you kidding!? This is literally Music P*rn!
Every episode has at least one amazing performance. You watch how the characters react to the music then you rewind and close your eyes just to soak it in. Not to mention The OP. Banger instantly added to my playlist of intros.
Character
The development of the Main Character seems to be a foundation in the plot. He is In no way an unchanging static character even thought he makes you think he his. He is also oblivious to his effects on those around him and is actually super selfish when you sit down and think about what you just watched. As for side characters in just four episodes we have a cast that is pretty big. The show also has a habit of highlighting individuals who, at that moment have no connection to the story but maybe... later... will..?
We are still adding new characters every episode and learning their in-depth backstories in just seconds. The character's are a lot to take in.
Overall 9/10

Came into this show blind. Never heard of it before. Having watched the first episode it got my attention and held it for a fair amount of episodes. Its an enjoyable watch but not something I would think to recommend off the cuff. After having finished the first episode it gave me hope that if the show does well than maybe just maybe Psyren might get an anime adaptation. I see a lot of parallels in the story.
All in All this is a show for those interested in
-The art of making friends
-Guns
-Modern Japanese Folklore
-Something to watch before the second season of Yashahime

If you just want info on what to watch out for look at the sentences in the[].
Having finished the show I can with absolutely say with no doubt in my mind this is by far my favorite Isakai. After a rollercoaster of internal debate, I wasn't sure how I felt about the show after each episode. It had a lot to like and dislike about it. So much in fact that I found myself taking much longer than the scheduled run time to watch each episode and always came back each week for the next.
Now about the anime itself; [the art is Outstanding] it
...
has contrasting styles from each person on the development team that might, at first, not really blend but after seeing it you realize THIS is the level of devotion you wish you're favorite anime was given. Because of the way the chose to "print" the picture [not every frame is equally lain, which gives each episode, mostly at serious non-action scenes, a "shaky" camera effect.] To me this effect gives the anime more of a cinematic feel tho. [The voice acting matches the characters well, and the music blends with each scene as if it was a natural part of life]. You were never taken out of the experience by a wrong note of bad voice-over. Now to the story; [This Anime is a Home-brew D&D/Pathfinder game come to life]. Your character has no character, other than being a degenerate... However you later begin to develop a personality and open up to your party about your past trauma. All the while you are leveling up and building relationships and learning the world lore. You have your man quest but oh look shiny side quest. Maybe just one... Now a few years later you're DM decides a cataclysmic event happens in hopes of getting you back on track. [The main characters development is a little iffy at times but each side character has excellent attention paid to them]. I don't like this worlds god... [Towards the end of the series you can see there are parts that are skipped over but so far seem to have no effect on the plot]. -It's not like what happened to You Know What Online- I hope [the series doesn't stick to skipping over development of world building this happens a lot w/ seasonal anime plus it was only 11 episode].-Here's to hoping for OVA'S- I also don't want them to have any filler or recap episodes. I have three things that the anime should capitalize on that it already hints at doing from time to time. [If this anime could develop along the lines LOGH in world building, character switching, and over-arching plot lines. I have no doubt this would be the first Modern Classic to come out of the 2020's]
