5 Centimeters Per Second is a magnificently put together anime with a truly nostalgic story for those of us that have lived through a similar situation. What is it like to lose everything and everyone you are use to and being pulled away into a new setting? What are you worried about most?
The people left behind is what we most worry about for most of us and its that scenario and moment in life the story pulls us into. 5 Centimeters Per Second shows us one of the many trials of growing up and how it means growing apart from the people we love or
...
that make us happy. When you are apart from them you don't want to leave them behind or don't want to be left behind. You keep in contact because you remember those times you've had together and don't want those precious days to come to a end. But as time goes on those severely loosened ties between you and the person then start to severe and dissapper. You're cummunication with that person becomes less and less until it stops and their is nothing but dear memories left . Although this has happened that person is still important to you and those moments spent together will still be held dear and you will never forget them nor will they forget you. This is the highly emotional time in life that the anime tries to portray and was done pretty well.
Even though the story is only 3 episodes long it tells the story in a slow and steady manner that mimics the seemingly slow pace of life but when you look back those distant days feel like just yesterday , and you start to ponder where the time has gone. Which surprised and amazed me.
The characters was really plain and their wasn't much look into their personality. This was not really surprising because the anime was focusing on the scenario of what was happening in life more so then the people it was happening to. I would still like to have seen to interesting traits that separate them from the rest of the world i like characters that give me reasons to like them.
One Outstanding part of the anime was it art work. The scenes grabbed my attention with its really colorful and detailed beautiful art. As if showing every detail to the world around the characters through the artists eyes, I loved how that world looked. The scene with the 2 main characters under the cherry blossom tree and the train stuck in the snow was breath taking and wonderful. Truly a amazing feat in the art work if I have anything to say about it.
The sound of the anime was truly fitting it was not loud or high tempo it was their always in the background behind the world. Its like waking up in the morning and hearing the bird chirping you don't pay much attention to it but you would sure notice if it wasn't their and for many of us we would miss it if it wasn't.
Overall I believe it to be a wonderful anime with a incredible story and amazing art to go with it I would definitively recommend this show to someone else because it really is a very good show and everyone who sees it would be delighted.
