I had my eyes on this show ever since the first preview of it. Studios Orange CGI work always mesmerized me, specially after their work on Beastars. They have such a magic way of implementing and mixing both 2d with 3d that makes their shows so dynamic and refreshing to watch in this big cluster that is the anime market. And its always, so. pretty!!
I got into Trigun thanks to Stampede, it glued my interest within a spark, the characters, the world building, the twist in episode 7 left me speechless and I was soo hooked into this universe that I went and watched the

90’s show so I could understand all the points people were coming from about criticizing this beautiful reboot.
And no, I still dont understand the hate that a portion of the fandom is giving to this show.
The 90’s anime had a somewhat different approach in certain subjects but the main keypoints are still here in Stampede, the major and biggest point of the whole show is also still here and if not, even better expanded on; that is Vash endless suffering and his difficult relationship with this brother. The reboot does a gorgeous job expading on Knives personality; his obssesion over Vash and his hate for humanity is really well written and thanks to the masterfully use of CGI it’s super noticeable all the different emotions that goes through the head of Vash’s psycho brother. Another big subject that was hardly brushed on the original and that here has a way bigger impact is how the Plants are sentient beings with feelings and how important they are on the survival of the human race, the focus this reboot gives to the Plants is a happy surprise and a really welcoming one as it gives Knives persuit a lot of more depth.
This time it’s not only about Legato or the Gung Ho-guns chasing Vash around for 10+ episodes with Knives barely showing up, but a truly heartfelt story about two brothers who went astray from each other and chose direferent morals as their way of living. This reboot is not supposed to be a copy-and-paste about the old show, and everyone who says that it ’’lacks soul’’, ’’the CGI is horrendous’’ or ’’they should have followed the original’’ are just big nerds with the feeling of nostalgia still stuck in 1998 that can’t appreciate anything new. Vash is still the same loveable guy with a pure soul and a lot of grief and depression deep inside his heart, using smiles and funny jokes as an escapism of all his troubles. I do recommend watching the original as it gives more depth and perspective to certain characters but Stampede as it is it’s already a worthy masterpice, beautifully done with incredible scenes and shots that leaves you breathtaken.

Okay so I'm writing this after watching the 19th episode and having some pretty mixed feelings in my mouth but yet, at the same time, feeling satisfied overall.
I think, as a whole, this is a good way to explain Fumetsu. It's an amazing, astonishing show but at certain times it leaves you with uncertainty.
The premise of the story is really good, the beginning is very creative and unique, out of the box even but at the end of the day after some episodes it can be resumed as smth really simple like the good guy (Fushi) vs the bad guys (Nokkers) and this cycle goes
...
on and on, the only variety being the friends that accompanny Fushi during different arcs and the experience he gains along the journey. These friends being the fortress for Fushi's growth, teaching him how to feel, how to have empathy and worry even for people who doesn't deserve to be forgiven, he's naive and even so relatable at certain moments. All these bonds and hardships makes possibility for Fushi better understanding of life. The emotional weight is there, and it destroys you every time.
However, it gets to a certain point where this formula stops working for a while, the whole Jananda arc feel like it's dragging itself and its characters arent as interesting or appealing as the past ones, Tonari's friends per se are just there, they just exist, maybe to give us the felling that these kids are the only family that Tonari has but nope, it doesn't work. Hayase stops being that cunning villain that did horrible things to... something strange. But even though this flaws are there and are very visible it doesn't change the incredible experience that I've had with the first half of this season. It still is an amazing show and deserves to be recognized.

This is going to be my first review here and why not start with a very contradictory show?
Code Geass as a whole is one of my favorites animes and when I found out about these movies I was pretty curious to see what it would be about. I admit I was kinda suspicious regarding it's quality due to the ratings of previous reviews, but don't let them fool you, these movies are great and worth your time. Going to write this review as a evaluation of the five movies as a whole.
I found it pretty clever that they have somewhat expanded the Code Geass
...
universe, this time, making the E.U as main scenario, a nation that until now wasn't too much well explored on past medias. The first three movies were perfect when setting the mood, they can be kinda slow paced sometimes but it's a construction that needs to be there and it pays off in the end. The last two kinda throws everything up in the air, trying to give more of a scientfiic or rather, mystical approach on certain things regarding mind collectivness but I'd rather view it as just ''empathy'' for others, be it your friend or foe. Nevertheless it still holds up due to the awesome fight scenes and the tension it builds on the watcher. I myself was about to eat my nails off of anxiety and I love when a show do this to me.
Some things are just in there and doesn't make too much sense but it didn't affect my enjoyment as a whole, at least for me. People saying it's and ''insult to the code geass fandom'' I totally disagree, yes it's different, yes I can see why some people didn't like but it has its charm and it's way too far to be considered a bad show. It's not about Lelouch this time, it's about other characters and their story, their arc to overcome their fears and problems. Yes, you have to be really open minded when going through this movies cause it's definitely not going to follow the exact same pace and plot as the main anime. But it's totally worth it, just for the fun of it.
Give these movies a try. They are really enjoyable.
