Animation is spectacular. Not like any other show you'll see and overall a unique style. The visuals are great, and the sounds are awesome, but how about everything else?
I wanted this to just be a movie about the race and to see cars drive really fast and do turns. You get this in the Yellowline race at the start, but the redline race is way too jumbled and there is no actual race in it. I wanted back and forth trading of places, something more akin to the pilot than what we got.

I don't write a lot of reviews, but I wanted to write this one for a simple reason.
This is not a movie. This and the next 5 parts are essentially season two. I'm not writing a review for each part, but so far they each end with a cliffhanger and act just like a double-episode. They even slow down right in the middle where a new episode would start. The quality is as good as the show, but it is not a movie. This of course means nothing after they have all been released, but right now expect a cliffhanger for each movie. It's been 5 years and ...

Overall, this is a waste of what could have been an amazing story. If you read the other reviews you will quickly see the pattern that though the premise and idea are great, the execution was off. Most of the cast is static and half the story is terrible. It tries to do two genres (magic and science), but fails to blend them and only does the science side any good. It does have some highlights, though.
I would watch it, at least the beginning and most of the science arcs as these are the best parts with the most development. The sisters arc introduces the two ... |
