"Just because you're unique doesn't mean, you're good" MEME 2020
When I first started Anime, I always wondered what it would be like if a Chuunibyou wrote a manga. At the time, I didn't realize it would come out as travesty as Chain-Freaking Saw Puke-Man.
When you have read too many manga and want to copy them with no writing skills you get this. Berserk's Ugly monsters with eclipse, Tokyo Ghoul CCG, Promised Neverland devils ripped off Character designs you have got all that here. The one thing you don't have is proper WRITING.
Story: Most generic story ever ripped off. Plot follows "I hate 'Insert your super
...
power', but I'm secretly part of them." genre. There is no real power system, world building and stakes here at all. You don't really know what are the stakes for killing Devil, Human and devil hunter. People are introduced 2-3 chapters before only to die out of nowhere. The mangaka is such a lame writer, he can't string two pages together let alone whole manga. TOEFL & IELTS checks Cohesion and Lexical resource of essay. This mangaka would get 0 score out of it. Plot is so predictable you know you will get a backstory for a character 1 page before he dies. Just ABYSMAL.
Characters: Our main character is Poor-man's BAKUGO. We have Third rated ZERO-TWO, RIZE's failed science experiment, Oops I mean't REZE and a Card board called Makima. Which has such an expressionless spot face, it would put my neighbor's Granny to shame Aki was the only good character which you could feel for.
Art: Art was Garbage, The mangaka can't draw facial expressions at all. The max he can draw are 2-3 expressions. Good, bad, happiness, Death whatever the scenario, Expressions are SPOT, Tongue out sweating, Smile. WTH, is wrong with this mangaka and the weird shaped tongues.
This manga is all hype and no substance. This manga feels like written by a MAL user who have read too many stories. I bet even some MAL users can write better cohesive story than this. Also, I feel so apologetic to SNK after reading this. I was so spoiled of good writing despite having some flaws in the ending was such a great fable. But CFSPM made me realize this. SORRY ISAYAMA for slating you.

Can different themes and inspirations be mixed together to create something interesting and engaging? More often than not, such series turn out to be disastrous. Because they lack one key ingredient. That is "CHARISMA". Which everyone in YNM have.
Yuukoku no Moriarity takes inspiration from the famous Sherlock Holmes. Although, it's not unique in its essence. But the a series doesn't have to be unique to be enjoyable and this series knows it well. It delivers where most other series fail to do so, It gives importance to its characters and it surely pays off by gripping the attention of its viewers.
Story of the series is
...
quite engaging, it's cat and mouse game between Sherlock and his arch rival Williams. Each mystery is engrossing and keeps you guessing what William's course of thought. Thereby, keeping the anticipation high.
Characters are the best part of Yuukoku no Moriarity. All the characters are GORGEOUS. I haven't seen a cast including so many good looking characters before. The best thing about the characters is they are all CHARISMATIC and come across as GENTLEMEN, which is no easy feat, considering these are all fictional characters.
Art is complementary to the narrative of our story. The facial expressions of the characters set the mood and tone of the show. These small little details makes you fall in love with the cast even more.
Op / Ed of this 2nd season might not be everyone's cup of tea. But I consider the direction this season was going to have, Op/Ed turned out to be complimentary.
All in all, this show was such an enjoyable watch. Anime industry have been lacking shows with Mystery, psychological genre with smart and charismatic male lead recently. This show really filled the void. This is without a doubt, the most underrated, memorable show during the past 1.5 year.

Mediocre story, dull progression , one dimensional characters, zero emotions, over-dramatic premise = Josee, the Tiger and the Fish
I have been waiting for this movie for quite sometime, because the Korean Live Action of this is one of my All Time Favourite. I haven't read the original source material on which one followed the source faithfully but this anime adaptation is abysmal to say the least.
Story : Mundane story, with tons of events and drama with out any substance to it. I thought the story might delve on the issue of person going through disability and might touch on it a bit more. But this
...
was all about our characters having little shenanigans for getting other's attention. If you thought synopsis on MAL was monotonous, I'm afraid movie is even more lacklustre.
Characters : Everyone in the movie was uninspiring dull, one dimensional card boards. I couldn't feel the emotions behind any of these expressionless characters. Josee our female lead despite being 24 acted as if she was 12 or something. Petulant, up her own ass and yearning for pity. Meanwhile, our male lead after a certain point (despite being serious I found that incident hilarious) in the movie became a dick, despite everything being his own choice. But as you might expect from Anime, Power of Words and friendship swayed his heart. As for the rest of the cast they're there for fan-service and filling screen space.
Art : Art was extremely good and really adored all the visuals of the movie.
Sound : Nothing special in this department as well. I wish Voice actors could have put more emotions to make these lifeless characters more real life. Also, Ending song felt more like "Your name" wannabe.
Finally, do yourself a favor, instead of wasting time on whatever nonsense this version tried to pull, I highly suggest to watch the Korean live-action of this movie. It is 100 times better than this garbage.

DISCLAIMER: I wrote this review two days before chapter 139, when I was still at copium.
UPDATED VIEW at the end!
"If I have to choose between beauty and truth, I choose beauty.” Hermann Weyl
If you have to define Attack on Titan in a single term, it would certainly be "Mathematically Elegant". Every variable(Characters) in the equation, every Constant(Power Dynamics), beautifully blends to the other side of equation. How can you spot what you're watching is a "Masterpiece". Does it have amazing characters, Character Driven Story? Brimming with Plot twist?
For me, A Masterpiece without a shadow of a doubt is a medium that leaves
...
everlasting impact, not just for few days but years to come. An allegory that makes you peer into the mind of the Author itself. What he was trying to do when he penned down dialogues. Masterpiece is something, when you reread you notice more things than you previously missed.
Attack on titan is certainly the one of the greatest piece of fiction ever conceived. AOT didn't simply leech off its popularity but it delivered when it mattered.
Story 10/10: "The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist"
And the biggest twist Isayama ever pulled was making us believe, the events before chap 90 were the main story. The sheer amount of effort required to create this story is just mind bending. Never before have I come across a story where every plot point just neatly ties into the other something trivial like e.g Spoiler Alert: "How to use of the Founding titans Power", Foreshadowing like "Reiners talk of warrior and soldier with Ymir and Eren". The dialogues and their transition is unparalled, Take chapter 131, 121 as an example. "Deep" is a word often thrown around in anime community. But AOT is one of the very few who fares well on this yardstick and pulls the strings of your heart like no other. You know, you are witnessing history changing in front of your eyes, when the author can keep you on your toes with just his dialogues. And "I wanted to be on the side of the victors" Yelena.
Characters 10/10: Characters are cornerstone of any story. In AOT (they're the story itself) every character is a story of itself.
The biggest uniqueness of AOT is not just its Main leads but villains. They aren't driven by some stupid ass reasoning, but everyone really wanted to save the world, Pretty reminiscent of Fate's characters. Their actions are more humanly than human itself, You could feel for them. Just like reality they didn't become like that because they wished for it, but because of how they were forced by their surrounding and enviornment.
If you take the picture of 10-year-old Eren with the Eren in Final arc, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference/find them totally different characters while keeping his essence, which is really important. Oh, also his abs lol!!!. One having eyes cheerful, brimming with hope, enthusiasm, resolve. While the other, with lost, hopeless, dejected eyes.
Also, I have never loved this many characters this much before: Mikasa, Armin, Levi, Hange, Zeke Boy-Wonder(Just how cool of a name is that), Grisha, Kruger, Erwin, Historia, Reiner, Annie. Every Single character's actions dictated the final outcome, That's the true Mathematical ELEGANCE of AOT. In many series, Main character kickstarts the story. But this is AOT Bro,Here it is as if everything was pre-determined by some unknown for all this to happen. Which ties so beautifully with the quotes."Even in our Death, Even after our death,Because this is the story you started". "They were forced by their surrounding or environment".
I'm telling you, if this story was a Mathematical equation, Isayama would have been Nobel laureate by now.
Art 8.5/10: As Isayama himself said that when he offered "Shingeki no Kyojin" to publishers, he was told repeatedly that, while his story is satisfactory, his drawing skills are not. That might be true for the start for some fans But it's not something you could call terrible, As the story progresses you can see the increase in quality which culminates at the latter half of the series. One unique thing Isayama's art brought to the table was unique eye shadowing and lines casting to display a sense of melancholy, misery. Which aggravated the tone and visual experience.
Enjoyment 10/10: The journey is the reward'. It certainly was the reward in AOT case. This journey of mine started in 2013 which ended today. This is a series which will remain in the hearts of many for decades to come. The way this series rose to the top echelon of the anime industry is indicative of its success.
Lastly I want to pay homage "To that nameless flower that scattered throughout the night. Please, rest in peace."
[Updated View After chapter 139]
Last arc of Attack on titan was rushed, inconsistent and generic at best. If chapter 1-123 were 10/10. Last arc was 5/10 for me. Which culminated with last chapter.
The ending was not just bad but ridiculously atrocious. Every character butchered , assassinated and mutilated. The biggest loser turned out to be our Eren himself.
I feel like journey was rewarding, but the destination was not up to the scratch with the rest of the journey.
Isayama tried to pull too many themes, resulting in a whimper. The biggest flaw with the series which is pretty apparent during the last arc is; Isayama had too many ideas and he couldn't settle on one and building upon it. Resulting in poor, incoherent , messy Last Arc.
Does this make the experience dreadful or unenjoyable. I don't think so, but it definitely would leave a bad taste for the ones starting with the series, the way the last arc panned out.

Don't let the poor rating fool you!
If you're a fan of higurashi, then go ahead and watch this I'm sure you wont
be disappointed
I will just clear out any misconceptions that surrounds this season
THIS ISN'T A REMAKE. IT's without shadow of doubt SEQUEL TO THE ORIGINAL.
Advice: If you're new DON'T watch this season. Watch the ORIGINAL HIGURASHI FIRST.
If you have already finished the ORIGINAL, I still urge you to watch atleast
the Higurashi 2nd Season. That will surely freshen you up on this season's Events.
...
If you have come this far, I will try to keep my review short.
Story: Higurashi Gou keeps the original tone, gore ,twists and engaging storytelling.
But it doesn't stop there, but capitalize on it and strengthens some of the points
that might have been missing in the previous two season. If you want a story
that encapsulates the japanese folklores with their tradition. Then, surely you're in for a ride
Art: THe art for the previous two seasons despite scathing criticism
complemented the storyline and theme of higurashi. This season art is a step up for me.
it's crisp, bright and colorful with modern character designs while keeping the original's essence.
But make no mistake, the panoramas, village atmosphere and gore has been done
flawlessly which has been very rare in the modern anime.
Sound: Higurashi's OPs & EDs have always been my favorite, this season felt no different.
Specially art of ED theme was stupendous and it brought something fresh to the table.
As for voice acting, voice actors simply nailed there roles, here I wanna give credit to Satoko's seiyuu.
She literally gave life to Satoko. Her emotions and interaction with others felt ridiculously humane. (Bare in mind I hated Satoko in the Original).
There weren't many OSTs, but the background sounds e.g insect sounds, wind gusts, night time sounds mixed with bewitching scenaries
enhanced the countryside feel of the 80s.
Characters: All the characters are likable, cheery and have their own arcs dedicated to them. Higurashi's biggest
point is it's character driven story telling. You get to witness the story from the perspective of each character.
Which give further credence to why a certain character behaved in that sense.
This character driven story style has always been Higurashi's forte. It arguably is one of the best in the industry
Lastly, I can't stress this enough. Don't let the MAL rating fool you.
Many people came into this with the misconcepiton of REMAKE. Which it clearly isn't.
If you're Higurashi fan. I highly highly urge you to watch this season. It is without a shadow of a doubt worth every second of your time!

“This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but a whimper.” ~ T.S. Eliot.
After the train-wreck of a mess the first season was, comes the Plane-wreck - KAGUYA SAMA: LOVE IS WAR Season 2
Make no mistake this season will advertise you into watching it with evolved comedy. but mixed with same inherent problems which existed from the season 1
Even before the show starts, comes the cretin narrator. I don't know why we even need one. This anime tries to mug it's own audience with blatant dis-ingenuity which is so goddamn hilarious (The only humorous thing about this anime).
The whole concept is
...
a gargantic mess, two people making other confess to satisfy their own childish egoes
Kaguya sama is a war between two petulant kids who know next to nothing about anything let alone love.
Since episode one of the first season haven't seen a single character develop Same old jaded cycle ,rinse and repeat.
Also, It is comical how prez and kaguya just sit all day in their office. No need to bother going to class or doing regular school stuff expanding plot choices further but this anime is so tunnel visioned the didn't bother. Same things overused to the extent making me barf. There is a reason why they sit all day in office which i will delve deeper in animation section.
Story : 1\10
Pretty much every episode follows short scenarios with same cycle. Here is how cycle works, Most episodes start with a character contemplating stuff in their own head, talking bonkers to themselves creating misguided, misconstrued scenarios With narrator intervening to declare one victorious. Hell ya how rewarding pleasing is that .This shows makes its utmost duty to waste time on useless stuff, as if all the characters weren't doing that already, but stop we need the narrator.
Here is an example First episode(18:27) halfway through narrator jumps in to waste few seconds Narrator : "Birthday A special day that only comes around once a year". See i bet you didn't know that This anime told you so Rejoice
First characters explain, then narrator reiterates so ducking great
Episode:2 (13:27) "You are all overthinking". This show is basically Catch 22 of itself .To sum the whole plot. This show is a humongous EXPLANATION of nonsense dialogues that i have no qualms even the author didn't know what he was on about, leading most people to fell into the sacrilegious trap of "DeathNote-esque".
Animation : 2\10
Animtaion isn't that great either at most generic . What this anime has found the elixir-of-life in, is the art of TALKING NO JUTSU. keep throwing nonsensical rhetoric so less background change hence less animation while keep making money Big Win Win But let's not stop here , this show takes it to the whole new level why change setting when you can do the whole ducking show in a single room Best cost cutting measure since Iphone XR LCD Panel To top it all off, just use no background when characters are talking to god knows whom , to give off the so-called Death Note impression but no you aren't anywhere near deathnote so stop pretending
God Forbid my brain . watching all those lousy outfits and colors. You can even use first seasons hallway frames to cut the expenses down further
Characters : 3\10
The only character that is redeemable, is the prez himself at least he has vibe to him. He is witty , sometimes level headed and shows character unlike rest of the cast. Next is the party-pooper Kaguya, the worst written tsundere i have ever seen. Kaguya can be summed up easily with word "CONFUSED PERSONALITY". Her only salient trait is misinterpret stuff and make duck-tons of false scenarios to drag this lousy show and make up for the writer's atrocious story telling and lack of creativity to come up with something refreshing.
Then we have big-butt chika who is typical of her trope, Everyone adores her so let's put her everywhere, "Under the table" we got Ya "on the ceiling" we got Ya . You want her under the flower vase, well we don't do that here lol. Then we have brigade of forgetful characters that you can simply ignore. Even the writer ignores them so why bother
I didn't talk about the otaku guy because he isn't even worth wasting few seconds on. Even writer gives him as little air time as possible. BEST WRITTEN CHARACTER EVER
Music: 4\10
Most of the background music is there to increase tension or to rile viewers like me. Other than that it's not even worth listening. OP And Ed are somewhat redeeming features of this show
Enjoyment: 2\10
Honestly, I confess, I'm not really fond of resorting to giving any entertainment medium a score of 1 or 2 but this thing is a whole new beast. It could have been done a lot of different ways. “This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but a whimper.”This anime show is perfect example of this .I highly urge you to stay as far away from this show as possible, there are tons of better entertainment medium out there. Better watch those than to waste time on it. Or.... If you're like me who has this weird obsession of finishing everything with rating 8+. I recommend watching it one episode/week to stop urself from pulling hair. Trust me,binge watching will cause you either Schizophrenia just like kaguya or Amnesia.
Also the only thing Kaguya sama LIW is thriving on is the idea that this shit is somewhat reminiscent of death note . To that my only answer(question) is from where? This show is very good at is leeching off the popularity of 'Rom-com Death note' title.
Lastly, Please do like this show because we gave you low angle chika butt shot YAYYY

In Spring season, i was looking forward to two anime in particular Promised neverland and kaguya sama love is war.
Kaguya sama love is was turned out to be the biggest disappointment of the year for me, i knew about the manga for quite a long time and had high expectations because of the rave reviews it received.
So i kept myself back from reading manga because of anime.
But the anime turns out to be mediocre at best. there is literally nothing apart from forced drama that makes it any different from the shows in its recommendation tab.
Story : 4 - At first the plot seemed
...
appealing to me. But the way the story was executed is just a atrocious. Most episodes can be summed up as, One of the main character encounters a problem and makes a huge deal, involving that scenario our two childish main characters fight to get the other confess. rinse and repeat over the span of 12 episodes and we get this stagnated show.
Comedy in the show is also poorly done. What we get for the tag of psychological is forced drama which accounts to nothing. You can literally kick the word plot-development out of the window.
Characters : 4 - There isn't any endearing character in this series. We have our main cast shirogane whose only role is to overthink and complicate matters. Kaguya is our go to tsundere whose only salient feature is to say "O Kawaii Koto" after long nonsensical rhetoric. Chika is our ubiquitous big boob , cute voice galore character, whose role in the anime was to ruin the little shenanigans our main cast were playing with each other. Basically a redundant character.
Plot twist: When i thought we only had three characters this anime pulled the one and only plot twist of the show and introduced this gloomy otaku whose name i forgot as soon as i saw his character. This otaku guy was as tedious as our plot. you guys can just ignore this wanker he is only put in the show to fill some useless space.
Art : 7 : This is probably the only redeeming feature of the show, the art was pretty crisp some of the dance sequences of chika were animated amazingly well. Use of bright, contrasting colors gave this worth a try , Overall, art department turned out to be the saving grace of this show.
Sound : 6 - This department of the show was good, Opening song was mellifluous. Ending song was also Ok and didn't leave much of an impression on me. As for Voice acting, voice actors did pretty good job to give life to these lifeless, dull characters. So big prop to the voice actors.
Enjoyment : 3 - All in all the only thing this show thrived on was, Chika performing her kpop moves and showing her love and support for the girl bands. As for some comparing it to the likes of Death Note, they are doing nothing but committing sacrilegious act Neither the characters have the charisma or ingenuity of Light and L nor the story is good enough to warrant this show to be said in the same breath as death note.
Overall : 4 - If you're into romcom maybe you should give it a try. As far people looking for something seinen or psychological. I would encourage to steer as far away from this show as possible and watch some other good shows or spend your time in doing something productive.
Thanks for your kind time.

The Promised Neverland (Yakusoku no Neverland) is a manga that caught my attention within the release of its first 15-20 chapters, because of its unique name and it's reference to works of J. M. Barrie with the name Neverland.
As the reader and watcher of both Manga and Anime, i feel the anime has quite surpassed my expectation and has been executed marvelously.
Story - 8 : The story of the PN is one of the biggest plus points of the the series. Personally i feel the art in the manga didn't compliment the horror genre of the story, but studio Cloverworks did an awesome job
...
in portraying the horror elements of the story. Brief silences during conversations, sound of the dangling pendulum,spine-chilling looks of our antagonists and illustration of fright on our character's faces was done amazingly well. The anime also adopted the manga faithfully without leaving any major plot points. Furthermore the pacing of the story was pretty steady unlike most anime these days, which try to rush and end up messing whole plot. So big props in terms of stories.
Art - 7 : Art of the story during the first 4 episodes started off well but then the character design and background art became a little lazy but it wasn't unbearable either.
It is also worth noting that my main gripe with the manga was adressed here in this department, As the art in the anime had a lot of darker tone to it, also from day to night the way the art color had a tinge of red-orange simply amplified the creepiness of the story. Overall a pretty good job but i wish they had put the same endeavor in the latter half of the anime.
Characters - 7 : Characters of The Promised Neverland are diverse but so far lack that cutting edge to make u go head over heels with them. Although i;m not a very huge fan of stories involving a female lead but if executed meticulously can play a pivotal role.
In our cast, we have Emma, our protagonist which like any other Shounen anime is loved by everyone, easygoing and cares about everyone. Ray is our cold guy having warm inside lol. Not much new here so far and the rest of the cast also follows the tropes that you can find in a lot of anime.
However, two exceptions here are Norman and Isabelle. Personally i really adored these two characters. Story of Isabelle , the character progression of Norman and how he reacts after hearing a sudden proclamation from Isabelle was so natural that makes u feel connected with his character and same goes for Isabelle, Her character also makes u feel empathy and hatred at the same time. Probably the best characters of the series so far.
Sound - 8: The area where The Promised Neverland excelled the most is this section. The background sounds, created atmosphere that magnified the haunted atmosphere and enhanced the psychological elements in the story . To give some example, wind sounds in the background, Pendulum sound as mentioned before, creaking sound of the floor.
Furthermore, the music was also pretty eargasmic. in terms of music i consider myself hard to be pleased. However I fell in love with the opening from the very first episode. From isabelle's melody to Ending songs and some instrumental background melodies, the music in this anime was mellifluous.
Overall - 8 : I really really enjoyed this series as a whole, i no longer watch that many anime because of how all anime feel the same way with not much new to offer but The Promised Neverland has brought me back to my beloved hobby.
If you're torn between whether you should go for anime or manga i would suggest go for the Anime. Anime follows the story faithfully also the art is complimentary to the story in anime. In addition you get to hear some melodious OSTS. So, go for anime if you are ambivalent on which medium you should opt for.
Thanks For Your Time!

Every year, we are bestowed with alluring visuals and a rhetorically contrived title, that piques the interest of the anime community. This time around it is SayoAsa.
As soon as the PV got released, me alongside many others were waiting for the release.
Personally i feel that for an Anime or Manga to be considered quality it has to come good in terms of its basic pillars like ART/SOUND/STORY/CHARACTER. So lets go over these one by one.
STORY - 8
The setting of the story is in medieval age, where humans are living alongside many other races. From here on, we follow the story of our two main
...
characters Ariel and Maquia, seeing them grow together, connecting disconnecting and exploring each other again, developing a strong bond and making endeavors to overcome hardships was such a heartwarming roller coaster ride.
The Strongest point of the story is how realistic the mother-child relation is being portrayed. Mari Okada, the veteran in making people feel emotional, once again took it upon herself to narrate this beautiful bond unlike ever before.
We also have a colorful side cast. Each of them playing imperative roles to carry out the story.
ART - 9
Arguably, the strongest point of the movie is its art. I always thought that making compelling visuals was the forte of only MAKOTO SHINKAI'S movie but how can one be so wrong.
SayoAsa is brimming with Eye-catchy visuals woven with unique character design that made it easy to project the emotions of the characters to the audience, thus complimenting the message being conveyed by the movie.
Through and through movies is filled with mesmerizing background and sceneries that can infatuate anyone.
SOUND - 9
OH BOY!!! OH BOY!!! Kenji Kawai, you did it again. From the well-acclaimed composer of GHOST IN THE SHELL, FATE STAY NIGHT comes another masterpiece. I thought that was the best of his work but OH BOY THE EARGASM!!! In my view, soundtracks in this movie were the MAGNUM OPUS of the Kenji Kawai.
Every soundtrack with its impeccable timing leaves a huge emotional impact on the viewer, but not to mention, here we have to give credit to the director whose direction of right soundtrack at the right time made every single scene more impactful.
CHARACTER - 7
This is probably the weakest area of SAYOASA. The story follows our two main characters and builds further on the relationship between the two. The side cast is also colorful that wrestle with their inner conflicts and emotions that makes them feel like more human and easy to connect.
My main gripe in this department is the way some characters were handled and the way how some of them were re-introduced that made it feel like a bit forced.
Also, i feel that some of them could have been excluded which would have made it easier to give more screen time to the characters that could have made the experience more wholesome.
OVERALL - 8
All in all, the movie excels in all the departments and portrays a strong mother-child relationship that will keep you engaging and probably would make you emotional and tearful.
Does this movie deserve 10/10 as some people are suggesting? Does this movie deserve low rating if we go by the narrative of the other? I would say "NO" to both cases and it is purely subjective. SayoAsa could have been a lot better but the execution of the story down the middle and forced re-introductions of some characters pulled its legs. But that in no sense is taking the credit away from the movie.
Thanks for reading.
