This series has definitely gotten better over time! It started as a very predictable yet ultra fluffy feel-good romance, which got boring, and has evolved to have the featured couples have more realistic internal struggle which makes the romance hit that sweet spot a little closer. Cookie cutter good girl Satomi becomes a much more real feeling normal person trying to be good while Miria, introduced a few volumes in, copes with a bizarre relationship needing a lot of work to make last. The art has a very fitting sweet style as well.

If you want something nice and lighthearted this is a good option for ...

If you want a funny and heartwarming romance, this is a good option! The heroine Sahoko struggles with recognizing her feelings and deciding what to do; remain as she is, chase happiness, give up...
What follows is more or less a sequence of corny events to bring an unbelievable fantasy pair together. What makes this series special is the strength of it's earnest heart and many funny illustrations.
If you as a reader can't get around leaps of logic like "where are this girl's parents anyway?" then you probably wouldn't like it. I don't really like the age gap, I only let it slide because this ...

Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (40/? chp)
I originally rated this series an 8 and would maintain that had the series just ended when the driving plot device of revenge was resolved. Since the last couple volumes the series' themes bleating about racism constantly has gotten tiresome and there's little to no tension in the story anymore. Everything has become predictable and oh so preachy. I originally waited eagerly for new volumes to come out, and now I've stopped reading it somewhere in the most recent volume.
I mean, if you love things that beat the drum over and over about racism and oppression you'll probably like it after the first few volumes ...

Mixed Feelings
While this manga is funny and does not have any particular downsides it just feels like a soulless feel-good manga trying to tell kids to be more confident. None of the characters felt like they had much drive or development, they just did what the story dictated they do with some funny stuff thrown in. The romance did not hit that sweet spot of believability that separates the good romances from the bad romances either. The main couple had very little meaningful inner conflict that made me believe what they had was true love instead of a high school fixation.
Overall, it was pulp fiction ...

I will lead off with something: I am an H!P idol wota, 2D idols generally aren't my thing, but I really enjoy this series! The perspective from the main character being a wota herself reflects some of my own feelings and experiences. The pacing of the series is rather good and no jokes are too repetitive or fall flat. The storyline thus far is rather well done and the dynamics of the members of ChamJam are interesting. (Plus the music for the anime is nice!)

I would recommend this series to other wota. Though it can be really annoying when the translators don't use terms that ...
