I hate idol anime, and I hate everything else that's related to idols of any kind. Even now, Oshi no Ko may be the only idol related thing that I actually enjoy, and that's saying something about how good this anime is.

Even without the masterpiece of the first episode (which was movie worthy in its own right), and excluding its absolute banger of an OP and ED, this anime is still a masterpiece. The character's goals are clear, and they themselves are even developed really well. The arcs make sense, and even though people complain that the plot is slow, they can't seem to ... find a reason why the plot should move any faster.

This anime delves relatively deep into the darksides of the entertainment industry. Even if you already know about the cruelty that exists there, it's still quite an experience to see it play out on screen. This anime mixes in a combination of comedy, drama, and slice of life, and as long as you don't focus on shipping characters you will find that you'll enjoy this anime as much as I do.

Aka Akasaka strikes again with another masterpiece of an anime.

Made in Abyss Season 2: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun is a masterpiece of a continuation to its preceding seasons. The OST is downright majestic, and its ED is just so breathtakingly beautiful and perfectly ends every episode. Musical score aside, this season is the best iteration of Made in Abyss so far, which I didn't even think was possible.

Right now the cat's out of the bag. We all know Made in Abyss is extremely messed up and it does NOT tone it down at all in S2, and you will realize this VERY quickly. That being said, if you can't handle ... psychological horror and seeing characters getting killed off in brutal ways, this show is not for you, but those who continue on watching will be able to see the fragile fleeting beauty that this show has to offer - a type of beauty that no other show is able to replicate.

Every possible emotion in the emotional spectrum was shown perfectly throughout this season. Pain, anger, hatred, sadness, loneliness, resentment, depression, hope, despair, happiness, and much more were all shown brutal accuracy. When characters cried, I cried, when characters where happy, I was happy, and when we see characters gain and lose hope, I felt them too. And that's what makes this anime one of the best out there; the characters felt real. They had realistic ambitions and agreeable justifications for things they did. There wasn't a single truly evil character that appeared; just humans that were trying to survive in the hell hole of the abyss.

Lastly I would just like to take a moment to appreciate Misaki Kuno's amazing acting for her roles in this season. May her vocal chords rest in peace.
