It's everything I hoped for and more.
Coincidentally caught the movie while on vacation in Tokyo recently and was once again impressed by this series. The movie manages to capture in great detail the serious elements seen in S2. I found no pacing issues in it's arguably short runtime.
While all of the elements of the movie stood out as amazing, the direction and cinematography particularly during races is to me worth much more than my mere 2000 yen ticket. Even if a new viewer had not watched any previous installments in the film, the movie is presented in a manner that conveys the basic premise

To be frank, I didn't quite enjoy the movie as much as the previous 2. The themes explored within this movie simply pale in comparison to what was shown in S1 and the previous movies. With the completion of this recollection, where we learn of Satoru and Geto's past at their time in Jujitsu High, I can confidently recommend Season 2 as of now to watchers of the previous season, as well as new viewers of the series. This arc in particular captures a rustic and nostalgic feel and portrays the characters that we have seen in previous media in a way that made me better appreciate JJK Zero and S1 in a different light.
With the exception of the first half of the first episode, I thoroughly enjoyed the animation, OP and ED, and the direction of the season, ... |
