At first this anime made me question my sexuality, and it had a questionable story but the more episodes I watched I kept getting hooked in and it's likely be the same for you too.
Studio Bind overkilled the animation of Onimai, which is a Slice of Life anime, and they did not have to do this, but they did it anyway, 'cause why not, and I am so happy they did, because out of all the 90-ish anime I've seen this has the best animation. How? Well you can literally calculate the physics of a ramen noodle, and it would be 90℅ accurate because that
...
specific ramen noodle alone is like 300 Frames long, and that's just only the ramen noodle, and not just the ramen noodle moves alone at that scene. The art-style is also so unique, it has a wholesome vibe to it, but the reason this is a must watch it's because they mess up the protagonist's hormones and because of this the anime creates a wholesome loli tomboy lesbian couple.
Yes, you read that right. Nobody did anything like that before, and I maybe end up in hell or something, but it will worth it because I am just so happy that they did this.
When I rate a Slice of Life anime a ten, I don't give it a ten, as a ten like Death Note, Banana Fish, Attack on Titan, no... A slice of life anime does not need action, it just need to have a good, and wholesome vibe and I don't know how else someone can make a ten out of ten anime with a story like that, if it's not done the same way as Studio Bind did it, and I am completely aware that the author created the plot and not Studio Bind, but the way they bring justice to this series it's unbeliveable.
I highly recommend this if you want a unique slice of life anime, because you sure watched the same school animes, or the same buying clothes, playing games, sleeping all day at home type of slice of life animes, but you did not see a project like this I guarantee you. I needed this fresh piece of meat. Animes like this is what makes me love watching animes again. I will watch everything that Studio Bind made from now on. I found myself a new favourite studio.

Looking at my score you probably thinking "There's no way this guy gave a 10/10 score" but ladies and gentlemen I found the best romcom anime ever. There's a difference between a 10/10 "Steins;Gate" and a 10/10 "When will Ayumu make his move?" obviously, but both anime worth that score. This romcom has everything, the character development is noticeable for everyone in each episode, the lightning, the comedy, the romance, the detail of the personalities... Everything, fits and honestly this is the kind of stuff I've been waiting for inside this genre. It might look like a reverse Takagi-san for you, but while that anime
...
isn't more than teasing, this anime isn't monotonous. You get to know the reason of these two's feelings, you laugh with them, you cry with them, you feel like you are a part of their romance (Even if it feels weird to say this). Props to SILVER LINK because the build up for certain scenes are amazing. The details on the blush or the smiles show real emotions, cause this two really love each other. I'm not saying "F every other romcom, cause this is the one!" but "F every other romcom, cause this is the one". Also the anime itself made me buy the 7 volumes that has been released in english, and I am up to date now online too, so long story short: If you want a Slice of life that makes you feel touched just give this one a go. Can't wait for season 2. ❤

It's been 2 years since I saw the anime, I've since read the manga and rewatched the anime and it's still my favorite anime ever made. Wonderfully thought out, drawn and wrapped up in an addictive storyline, Astra Lost in Space is a masterpiece as it not only plays with emotions brilliantly, but is full of twists and always manages to surprise the viewer. It starts as a future Slice of Life, then quickly turns into a thriller that unfolds part by part. It's pointless to try, you couldn't guess the twists of the anime if you wanted to (at most who the impostor in
...
the group is if you pay attention), but the anime also has 3 major plot twists in the story. In 12 episodes the anime tells a story by giving us the backstory of each character, but also the backstory of some of their family members and what we rarely see in anime before... the history of the anime. The anime is set in 2063, where space travel has advanced to the point where some schools are organizing class trips to different planets and the question is, "Oh my God, how is this possible? In 2024 we are planning to be able to go to Mars and we haven't even colonised it yet, nor have we started planning to colonise it, but in 2063 we can go to a planet like the fictional Mcpa in the anime? So the anime perfectly explains what has happened to the technology since 2021 that made space travel in 2063 possible for humans and it might not be believable, it might not be possible for it to happen in real life, but Astra Lost in Space perfectly makes the viewer believe that such a historical event could happen. If you really wanted to, you could tie it into any point of the animation, but if you can treat it as animation you can have a brilliant experience and how brilliant is it? If you hate it, you can't stand it, so if you really hate sci-fi animation I dare recommend it because it's so much more than your average sci-fi. It's a necessary genre and it's not just there because of how cool it is these days.
The reason Astra Lost in Space is still my favorite animation after 2 years is because of the ending. The bad guys get what's coming to them, the good guys get to live real lives that match their dreams and it's really finished, all the questions are answered and it doesn't end with the main character dying or "Where's season 2?" a brilliantly thought out journey that is as memorable as our protagonists.
10/10.

If I could, I would give this anime a 9.5, because unlike the original series (Cells at Work!!), the story here is not only non-episodic, but has character development, logical thinking, emotion, and a great rather grotesque art-style. The original Cells at Work anime was rather boring only because there was a great thought out idea of drawing cells, bacteria, viruses as anime characters, but that's really all the story seemed to be, it was missing something that Cells at Work CODE BLACK has: the crisis and the drama. The series is incredibly well suited for this more horror-like genre with a dash of shonen
...
thrown in. Unlike during it's predecessor in Code Black I felt more like I was watching a survival horror, the characters on screen were not just cells but people with feelings who do have goals, dreams and can laugh as well as cry.
The acting is something frighteningly perfect, the more we go on the more the situation starts to go wrong and it shows perfectly, especially the main character who at first seems like a clumsy man, but when the anime shows us from several angles what it's like to be traumatised, it's worth shedding a tear for him. The half score that separates it from the ten is the happy OP/ED that pulls the viewer out of the mood part by part and as usual this anime has characters that go off and be mean for nothing just to have someone to hate for 10 minutes, but other than that it was a wonderful series and I hope just like the first series CODE BLACK gets a second season too in the near future.

Why do you want to put deep meaning in an anime if you going to end it like this? This is exactly what i tought after i finished the show. It wouldn't be that bad, but the last frame of this season is the most annoying thing an anime studio could ever do to a franchise. They covered 15 volumes in 11 episodes and the first 4 episodes only about running to A to B, and not just that they even said in the final episode "You want a 3rd season? Well you know what? You ain't get any, idiot." I'm not mad at this
...
show, i'm mad at the creators that they did this. This was such a good series and they ruined it. So if you reading this just watch the first season then imagine that they put a "And Emma and Ray came back for Phil and the others and they lived happily ever after" sentence at the end of the cutscene and you basically got what S2 was good for.
Yeah, it's a shame.
