I have played/read virtually all visual novels in this series (and there are A LOT of them), and that greatly alters how I view this adaptation.

I first watched this long before getting in the VNs, and back then I thought this anime was the greatest thing since bagged milk. Now? Can't say the same. A comical amount of content was cut (23-hour VN = 50-minute anime), and the anime basically speedruns to the "end". Important side-characters and side-plots are completely omitted, which makes the story and the (surprisingly) rich lore feel overly linear and hollow.

In a vacuum, Kyonyuu Fantasy is a pretty and well-made anime. ... The characters and the world look good, the voice acting and the soundtrack are both good quality, and the overall enjoyment factor is high as well, but it doesn't hold a candle to the VN.

This is written after only having seen the first episode, which just came out.

I get the feeling that it's just gonna get better because of the vibe the first episode gave me. Kind of an odd way of putting it, but yeah. I hope this show turns out well.

Looks promising, I'll admit it was a little stale, but I believe it will pick up in future episodes.

The animation is pretty good, but some background effects felt cheesy, water stuff in particular, you'll know when you see it.
I like the character art style. The girls are nicely drawn and come in a variety of cup sizes. Main FC (at least I assume she's the main FC) has really big ones, one of the supporting ones is similarly equipped, and the other supporting one possesses ones of smaller proportions.

Sound 7/10

Decent, average, nothing special, whatever term explains it best.

Again, after only having watched the first episode, my judgement will be limited and purely speculative.
Anyway, characters do show signs of development, by how much, I really don't know as of now. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Show has potential, now it's just up to the studio not to butcher the upcoming episodes. Looking forward to the rest!

This little show had good potential. Hell, the first 2 episodes were actually pretty good, but the 3rd, and the 4th one in particular were just awful. Show felt rushed and as though the studio just wanted to finish it in order to start the next project.

I was not prepared for the ending of episode 4, and that episode alone drags down my overall rating for this show by a lot. Had it ended in a similar fashion to the 3rd one, it would have been a little better, but to be honest, it doesn't really make any ... difference.

As stated previously, there was potential, but that gets thrown away at the start of the 3rd episode. Mediocre at best.

Art 8/10

Probably the best aspect of the show, it's just a shame it's nowhere near good enough to make up for severe lack of everything else, basically.
The animation is nice and fluid, the girls are aesthetically pleasing to look at and possess pretty big breasts (not humongous, but still really big) and their physics are nicely done.
The show contains mostly pale characters, but there is one dark skinned girl who appears throughout the episodes.
Background art was also good, but nothing special.

Sound 7/10

Typical hentai sex sounds and whatnot. Average soundtrack.

Character 5/10

Only character that appears to have even the slightest development is the main MC. The rest just remain as they are, or so I remember at least.

Overall 5/10

Only watch this if you need something new to watch and can't seem to find anything else at the time. I will not watch this a second time.
