Came because of Cloverworks, left with utter disappointment.
This anime is just another slop that is produced every season, with a similar plot that is chewed over and over time and time again.
What this anime is good at is creating it's own feedback loop:
1. MC complains about overtime -> 2. Unpaid labor through boss fights -> 3. MC enjoys life -> 4. Repeat.
and;
1. The opportunity of a better job -> 2. MC refused -> 3. MC complains about overtime -> 4. Repeat.
The anime abruptly abandoned its unique selling point midway through the first episode, undermining the very elements that initially set it apart from other
...
fantasy anime.
I BET these two feedback loops will be the backbone of every single episode until the very end. When you combine this with a plot that serves its purpose similar to free assets on Unreal Engine for developers to use- in this case, authors and studio, you get this infuriating mess. Anime is a form of content meant to give its viewers pleasure, not the urge to write an essay on how horrid it is. The sole purpose of this anime is for the author and the studio to make a quick buck with little to no effort.
Plot: 1/10|
As mentioned above, the anime threw the USP away when it had the most potential to develop it into something unique, a missed opportunity. The plot also does not make sense (refer to the feedback loop above), as if you are trying to tie your shoes with a hand-tied to the back. Our MC is anti-social, and she hates overtime, so why to work as a receptionist and do unpaid boss fights; even when an opportunity opens for the better, she wishes for the worse. The rest of the plot is, well, watch any other fantasy that is pumped out of sweatshops every season. At its core, it is the same, but SOMEHOW, THIS ANIME MADE IT WORSE.
Character: 5/10|
The character design is cute, that's it; everything else is highly forgettable. Our MC is extremely unlikable with her sadistic and narcissistic personality. She likes coming on top, she likes verbally (sometimes physically) abusing other people, she looks down on other people when they're prestigious adventurers yet being a lowly receptionist herself. Other character feels like they have brain damage, letting the MC "rub salt" on their face while acting like she is a god of some sort.
Composition: 5/10|
All of the anime budget goes into the OP and ED, leaving what is left to be spent on the most generic, boring, bland settings, monsters, names, clothes, music, and graphics. It is not too bad to be called horrible, but neither is it great to be called decent. You most likely look at it and forget it after you finish the episode.
Verdict:
"I May Be a Guild Receptionist, but I'll Solo Any Boss to Clock Out on Time" brings upfront an exciting plot, offering a refresh from seasonal fantasy slob, but ultimately delivers an underwhelming that can be ranked below run-of-the-mill seasonal fantasy anime, leaving viewers in utter disappointment and further disrespect for the fantasy anime trope- wasting their precious time. Anime is meant to be enjoyable, not some essay assignment from your psychology AP teacher. If you want to pick up this title, brace yourself; you will NOT enjoy it.

Oh, Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan, how horrible you are.
Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan is a rare gem in the anime industry- that is if I were to speak about it in terms of PR. It has one of the most impactful and exciting PR I have ever seen in my history of consuming anime, YET the show failed to deliver what it has deliberately shoved into its audience's faces. I, too, like many others, had my expectations set high from all the PR, expecting something similar to that of Konosuba, Bocchi the Rock, or The Disastrous Life of Saiki K, only to be let down.
Coming from Wit studio,
...
the animation quality is NO WHERE near what the team is truly capable of; It's not bad, but the characters' design, foreground, and background don't have that impact that makes you go, "Wow, this is truly a product from WiT studio!.", and most of the time, the animation are just clumsy.
The jokes coming from the show are UNBEARABLE; not even a fourth-grader would laugh at them; all the jokes make you feel like it is forcefully forced down your throat; it is unhumourous, especially when humor is the main selling point of the entire series, the normalization of disgusting jokes like Koshi Torako being a virgin or incest is just awful, no punch line, nothing, just weird things being normalized in a poorly attempt trying to make the viewer laugh.
Now, there is quite a handful of gag-humor anime out there that don't give the viewer a clear flow of story development, but at least they HAD a story flow. After three episodes of Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan, the plot is all over the place; where does Nokotan come from? Why does she know about Torako's past? What is their motivation? We know NOTHING about that; yes, I understand some anime will give clues for the viewer later in the series, but in the meantime, they at least tried to entertain the viewer; this series DOES NOT entertain its viewer whatsoever.
When we combined mediocre animation quality with shit-unfunny jokes and a poor plot, we got something similar to this; the only redeemable thing this series has is its PR material and the opening, nothing else. Please don't waste your time on this; make your limited lifespan worthwhile with Konosuba or Bocchi the Rock.

Oroka na Tenshi wa Akuma to Odoru is a great example of an excellent manga with a bullshit adaptation.
As a manga reader, I find this adaptation rather disappointing. It failed to make the first impression for non-manga readers on the first-ever episode and did not improve that reputation throughout the next two episodes. You could call this the knockoff version of Kaguya-sama with all the comedy (?) that was poorly "translated" from the manga to the anime. I might have let my expectations go too high for an unpopular manga drawn and written by an ex-hentai artist. So, for those with
...
nothing better to do, you can have the green light for this anime, but if you value your sanity and time, the manga is for you.
