Okay so I didn't hate it, I didn't drop it, but like 2-3 months after having read the manga I can barely remember anything of the plot. Like I remember more of black clover despite having dropped that nearly 2 years ago. Honestly as far as I can remember I only managed to stick by the first 30 or so chapter just because I wanted to know what was all the hype about before I actually got invested in the story at all. It did get interesting near the end but even then I can only vaguely remember certain plot points.
I guess you
...
might enjoy this if you like fight scenes and a spectacle, but if you are the sort of person who starts skimming when punches start getting thrown, maybe this is not for you.

This is a slow paced slice-of-life manga. I usually read a manga all at once, it is pretty rare that I put a manga down that I am reading (I get too hyped if I find it interesting) and then pick it up again. But I took my time reading this one, it is slow and doesn't really rely on suspense to keep you coming back, what kept me coming back was simply how wonderfully the story was written. I am not a huge fan of the SOL genre but the ideas of death and permanence spread throughout the story and they was it was
...
linked to individual locations stayed in the back of my mind kept me invested for days as I slowly read through the manga at my own pace.
I am sure that fans of this genre will love this story, it is not dark and despite the bleak premise, and the characters and their journey are written with a lot of gentleness. I think that even those people who are not fans of the SOL genre like me would enjoy this despite the slow pace. It never feels like the journey at any point is pointless and repetitive, the characters are always moving forward without losing the sense of calmness that defines the genre.
Spoilers:
Till the last few chapters I had meant to give this an 8 or a 9 but the ending really wrapped up the whole story so well that I can't find any fault at all with it. At the end you sort of get the feeling of being in their shoes, feeling (in a smaller degree) the same way as they may have felt walking through all the things and monuments that the now gone people have left behind, knowing that they once lived and that now they are long gone.

I really enjoyed the first 3-4 episodes they were literally perfect. I actually teared up so much at episode 2. After that I felt like the story started to lose the depth that it seemed to show in the first few episodes. The side characters were wasted, Bojji literally had plot armor in every situation he was in, Kage literally becomes a Bojji cheerleader, and the blanket forgiveness for all atrocities if the bad guy decides to cry makes me so mad.
I only gave this an 8 cause its just really beautiful and well made from the animation standpoint. The story is like a
...
6, I literally was playing games on my phone the whole time so I could get through most of the story.
SPOILERS FROM HERE:
The side characters were shown as not bad people but had divided loyalties, but like by like epsode 10 or so they were all mostly on Bojji's side except for a maybe one or two.
They initially dismiss Bojji as weak and unable to fight, incapable due to his deafness, and and gullible. However through the course of the show the only thing of these three that get addressed is that Bojji leans to fight despite vey little physical strength, but like they completely forgo saying relevant about deafness in favour of now revealing that Bojji can read lips, and for any other inconveniences caused by Bojji not being able to speak is covered by the fact that Kage understands him constantly narrated everthing that Bojji does or says. (At one point someone shouts and Bojji even stops because of that, wasn't he supposed to be deaf?) They literally abandon sign language!!
And that initial assumption about him being gullible is not addressed at all, in fact very little is done to establish that Bojji is quick witted and capable, he only ever takes action after someone tells him what to do, the only things he does on his own are ask his mom to heal people for him or point his sword at someone looking for a fight. Tbh he's treated like a very mature 7 year old, not like a mature person.
Daida was great till they like completely forgot about him before bringing him back in the last episode for him to save the life and propose to the girl who tricked him and had him be born for the sole purpose to reincarnating his dad in his body.
And I hate what passes for morality in this story, like what was Miranjo's whole backstory like she was tortured by evil villagers who were evil, so she ruined everyone's life by doing a lot shady shit, and then because she realised she was wrong at like the last possible moment and cried, she was given a new life and completely forgiven. Like if your forgoing complex character dynamics for a big bad villain at least make it a good one.
Bosse was so weird, like he dies when hes like this really strong king, then he's reincarnated by Miranjo , and he just kinda goes with the flow, meanwhile flashbacks show that he was kinda go-with-the-flow wishy-washy kinda guy with super strength and then he dies. It felt like a huge waste of potential.
Tl;dr: Bojji is crowned king cause he has become a skilled fighter but still comes off emotionally as a five-seven year old. Everyone loves Bojji, if not now than in the next 5 episodes, and everyone can be forgiven for murder if they just cry hard enough.

Okay, so I nearly dropped this manga like twice while reading it, yet every time I picked it up I read like 40 chapters in one go. The manga looks amazing and the story can be really engaging.
I liked this manga enough to give it a 9 and write a review for it, but I do need to list out the multiple things that caused me to want to drop it. Firstly, the manga has many timeskips that do, in hindsight, keep the story better paced than it would have been without them, but while reading it can be very very disorienting. This is the
...
biggest most major flaw in this story. Since we are only ever following Mori, we see some of the most important parts of his life, and essentially skip over everything else, so we never really properly get to know any character other than him.
Which brings me to the second problem, if you start getting attached to any character other than Mori, be prepared, either you're gonna never see them again, or they are going to come back as a complete asshole with no explanation for how or why that happened.
But even despite all these problems I really enjoyed the manga, it is not a very long read because a lot of the story is told through absolutely beautiful art, with most of the story being told through pictures rather than words. The major reason for giving this a 9 though is that the ending is very satisfying. A bad ending can really bring down the quality of the story but a good one can elevate it, and this is a good ending.

Look, take every review on here with a grain of salt because while I absolutely love this manga it is still ongoing so it can both get better or get worse.
Moving on from that, like the majority of stories that this technically sound, how much you like this depends upon personal taste. I really enjoy the art, the characters are interesting and likeable, everyone has believable motivations and no one falls into annoying stereotypes.
The pacing is great and the writing is snappy. The mangaka really cuts down on anything that is even slightly filler, its really efficient storytelling, it doesn't skimp on character
...
interaction for that but may seem too fast for some.
Like I said once a story covers all its bases on skill, it depends on the reader's preference. Because I can see some people who come to shonen jump looking for fresh new crazy series being disappointed on finding a new fresh series that unfortunately (for them) is still very much a shonen series.
Most of the complaints I see seem to me that they just don't like this type of story. I mean I liked this more than any of the other action shounen series I've been following. For me personally, I did not have a single complaint with this series, 170 chapters in, it is going strong.
This is personally a 10 for me. If you are a fan of shounen titles give it a try, who knows maybe you might enjoy it as much as I do.

The story of HxH is very good, the world is pretty awesome and the powers are super cool. The problem with this manga is the endless exposition, even 390 chapters in there are walls of text that makes this manga feel like I'm reading the wiki for this manga and not the manga itself.
It is a testament to the brilliance of this manga despite all that I was still engaged in the story even after the beginning of this newest arc.
The characters are good but you can go a long while without seeing them and often it's out of sight out of mind with
...
most of them.
TBH, reding this manga makes me feel like the author should have been written this story for a video game instead.

This is essentially a comedy anime, so it is pretty subjective. I really enjoyed it, like most episodes were really funny, I would easily say they were an eight or a nine, but like a few episodes were not really to my taste. but yeah I really enjoyed the show.
Though tbh I enjoyed it a bit less than I would have normally because I read the manga just a little before I watched the anime so when I joke was cut I enjoyed it a bit less, otherwise the anime was pretty good.
A bit spoilery: The first episode and the episode with the amnesia was
...
really not to my taste but stuff like the cultural festival and the one where handa hangs out with kawafuji was so hilarious.

Okay, so the animation isn't the best in this show, but oh my god does the story and music make up for it. I watched the show dubbed and the english VAs singing is very good in all the songs.
One awesome thing about the show is that other than the times when a character is playing an instrument, there isn't really any other soundtrack so it really feels special whenever the main cast start to play their music, you can like really feel the character's passion.
The story is amazing and the plot is engaging throughout, it is definitely a shame that the whole

manga did not get adapted.
