well,,...THIS WAS A REALLY BAD ADAPATION LMAO,
im a huge fan of the danganronpa series(ive gone out of my "DR phase" but i still love the games) and this adaption really didnt do them justice.
when i first watched this in late 2019 i was super obsessed with it and the games,now that im out of my dr phase i feel like i can give a less biased review..
my experience with the games/anime:
long story short i think danganronpa and the killing game stuff is a really great idea just poorly executed,the anime leaves some things out from the games but also adds some ECT;they left out all

the freetime events which i can see why but by doing so they left out a lot of the characters backtories which made them less likeable (in my opinion)
but i think showing the scene of Aoi crying at sakura dying in the anime was a nice touch. i first heard of the series from seeing junko cosplays on tik tok so i got curious and watched the anime and eventually played the games,originally i wasnt going t play the games cuz i assumed everything in there would be covred in the anime,,boy i was wrong.. ultimatly the games are obviously better the pacing was so off but tbh they were trying to fit 20 hours of content into 13 episodes..
animation:5/10
the animation wasnt TERRIBLE or anything it just didnt quite capture the executions the way the game does,and the animation in general just wasnt anything special.
characters:6/10
One of the things dr is best know for is its colourful cast of characters, the animation gives them semi-justice.like i said before the animation leaves the freetime events out which gave the chars a lotta deph and backstory but nothing too important was left out!it was just harder to get attached too
soundtrack:8/10
what can i say dr songs always slap,, i personally prefer the game ver but i like the animations ver too!
enjoyment:8/10
although i just slagged the anime off the first time i watched it i absolutely fell inlove for the series for almost two years it was all i would talk about, it hurts to not feel the same way and now comparing it to the games it really not that good,, i just feel i have to give it a high score for how much i used to love it lmao.
overall:4/10
this was a bad adaptation if you havnt i recommend playing or watching a playthough of the games
this series holds a place in my heart and its sad to see how poor of an adaption it got,,
