I just randomly decided to watch this anime and I'm glad I did!
The story and pacing is phenomenal. The author/producers know how to transition from scenes to capture characters emotions and feelings. I love how they did the expression chibi-ish faces, those were funny to watch!
The characters had good background story behind them and I like how Frieran is slowly changing from being at first expressionless to know being aware of some emotions, not all enough to make Fern mad sometimes lmao.
Voice actors were also on par and I didn't expect the Dio from Jojo (yes ik his voice is most familiar with that
...
anime)
Background music/OP/ED songs were more on the relaxing side which I quite enjoyed but typically skipped
Alright, now comes the harsh part.
I think the fight scenes could have been improved, at least at the beginning. For example, Stark vs the dragon was wonky, i was having trouble keeping up what was happening lol. Another was Frieren vs her clone and they cast that rainbow glass ball? It was a bunch of colors that didn't flow right. But all the other scenes were good, especially most of Ferns spells.
Some fight scenes also ended at the end of episodes really fast and I was like "Thats it?"
I wasn't really at the edge of my seat but I was entertained by the slow pacing of the story. Thats why I wanted to score it a 10 but I docked a point for fight scenes, and another for the fight scenes lengths. I really wanted a little more detail and resolutions (especially frieren vs her clone, I wish it was more anticlimactic)
So all in all, if you want a relaxing anime that has really awesome story, this will be it! I highly recommend :)

I REALLY want to give it a high score but I can't. Warning, spoilers ahead.
The first few episodes are good. I like the dynamic and the background setting of them being childhood friends. Here's a summary -
Rumi asked him out first, he said yes, broke up to let her little twin sister have him because naori (little sis) clicked with similar topics with him. Naori "dated" him but it felt forced so she's gave him an option to choose. I think everything was fine up until here.
It stalled. The main character was dense as hell, didn't consider their feelings one bit and
...
just wanted to watch from the sidelines because he can't choose. Even his BEST friend knows better (granted for different reasons) but towards the end, he was explaining it to him in basically baby terms. Who do you love more? ANd that he was dumb which I agree.
I just felt bad because he didn't give a damn and was just a toy being stringed along, like he couldn't make choices for himself. If he didn't like something, at least set boundaries but don't shrug it off and say whatever yk? (episode 12, shower scene)
His friend even said are you just liking them for nostalgia sake or who they are right now? He can't decide who to choose and is at a stale mate because he doesn't want to upset people. People change bro, they aren't that similar especially after a few years.
I'm not gonna lie,I think Rumi doesn't have much in common with MC. They don't have much topics to talk about unlike Naomi, and it just felt forced, like a one sided crush. Granted that was a year ago. I just felt bad because Rumi puts herself in these positions and is just waiting towards the 2nd half. I also think Naomi was being too assertive, I'm talking like dangerous levels. Like the MC should speak up or make his choice. All in all, it was a cluster mess. I really want to enjoy this anime, because the concept is good, but I doubt it'll get a season 2 based on the ending where no sides are hurt. It just felt bleh. If it stopped at where Naomi said you gotta choose and he chose, it would have been a much better story instead of just stalling. If he felt one way but then change his mind for the other, I kinda would've accepted it but now its just a stalemate to make the viewers "happy". Idrc about animation or background music, but just based on story, it's meh.
Best character : "professor" (he lightens up the mood of the anime)
another anime koi to uso is like this type, so some people might like it, some might not. Anyway hopefully that helps

This anime made me laugh. A lot. And I was happy with it! But there were some complaints that made me didn’t like the anime. But let’s talk about the good parts first :)
First off, comedic timing is good with this. They know when to switch serious mode and humor. I’ve seen it done on other anime’s but this is one of the best.
Second, the artwork and animation is insane. I thought it was another normal anime until I saw how they animated the waters and “tears drifting”. I thought that was cool :)
Third, drama. Oh baby, they know when to leave at cliffhangers
...
with these first episodes. Each character got their own “arc” which I’m happy about and they got resolution instead of the usual “okay bye I’m not gonna talk for the rest of the anime”
What I didn’t like, well the MC towards the end was getting selfish with the president stuff. He was just being a jerk and I’m like bro common lol.
After the “dramas” it began to slow down and the comedy definitely started becoming less frequent after like the first half of the anime. Episode 1 was the funniest imo. I get it, it’s also a drama but the genre just…shifted. Which I enjoyed komari’s second half in the LIT club president arc but it might not be for everyone to just randomly shift.
It did pick up last episode to more comedy though. The ending was…meh. Part of me was hoping for a conclusion, the other was like is it gonna end at a cliffhanger? All in all, I give it an 8 and would definitely rewatch! It was a nice change of pace from the usual romcom tropes. Hopefully it’ll getting a season 2!

This anime is different than most anime’s. It has some common troupes and the beginning half of the anime was mostly small snippets, meaning there wasn’t much story, just random slice of life moments. However, towards the end of the anime, there was GOOD tear jerking moments for me that really sold it.
At first I thought it was another random events anime, but it had a lot of story! So I would stick until the ending for a surprise I didn’t even expect
Some moments I thought was a little cringy but other moments made me had grin behind blankets. It was a wild ride.
...
The reason I score it like this is because some would really love it while others won’t but I would definitely rewatch it!
The voice actors for this was perfect. Changing in between personalities and I can definitely feel the emotions from both main characters!
I wish they would show some “scenes” more and I got confused like what just happened sometimes. But all in all I would recommend to someone that watches romcom anime’s regularly, but probably not for someone is getting into it
Thanks for listening to my review :)

This anime taught me a lot. If we are going straight plot story line, this anime isn’t for everyone. Typically people want an anime with consecutive story. But this anime feels like a 4 panel manga in a way which some episodes that continue.
I think the theme of this was how old age doesn’t affect love. Sure there wasn’t any kissing scenes but it shows that even if they are old, young, how they look, they still love each other from the beginning even without as much physical contact.
The ending scene was honestly good and I was happy it ended. I was sad but
...
happy. The hourglass scenario kinda made sense to me and shows how much we have to appreciate the time we have with other people.
The relationships grow even though they were fast paced clips. Again, it’s light hearted romance and people wanted more “action” but I think it’s plenty. This was more of a wholesome anime than a drama one. There was some comedic moments that I enjoyed a bit :)
Overall I would score this a 10/10. It taught me to cherish time with loved ones like it’s a usual day in life. To help others even when they don’t ask. That’s the message I got from this anime. Anyway that’s my take on it, agree/disagree it’s okay people have opinions and this one is mine lol
