The best way to enjoy a piece of media is to go into it expecting nothing and reading up nothing about it beforehand. Whis is probably why I enjoyed this manga as much as it did, and even now, 2 months after reading it, I hold multiple scenes from this manga very close to my heart.
Story - (9/10) I thoroughly enjoyed the story which was pretty much all about Teito remembering his past as the story progresses along with gradually uncovering the other bishops pasts. Pacing is good, its emotional when it needs to be and there's light heartedness when there needs to be too.
...
Saying that story only tries to appeal through erotic moments is absolutely baseless because barring one moment when Frau's scythe tries to eat Teito there's NOTHING of the sort. Take my word for it. If you go into this expecting BL baity moments you wont find it, unless you squint very hard and its the only thing you're looking for. What you will get though, if you read this the way its supposed to be read, its a wonderful story of trust between two people who are so different from each other but linked together by fate (or maybe not?), its just really emotional towards the end. -1 Because, well, not everyone had to be forgiven in the end. And I wish they'd addressed 'God' being the actual villain more, but I love the story for its character and relationship building, so 9/10 anyway.
Art - (8/10) - Nothing very extravagant but its perfect for the story. Felt a bit clamp-style to me, but I haven't read enough clamp manga. You can make out its not a recent manga from the art, and Im kinda biased towards that art style.
Character - (10/10) Yes! To me this is where the the manga really shined. Not just in individual characters, but the building of their relationships with each other as the past slowly gets revealed. I won't say much because I really can't. Ive reread it once already just cause I missed the characters. You won't find any over the top character the defines today;s series like dazai or gojo. but I feel what matters more is to have characters that are maybe not so unique but instead well written with well written relationships. And that's what keeps you coming back.
Enjoyment - (10/10) nuff said. might not have the greatest art, story or individual characters out of everything I've read, but with everything put together, its a 10/10 from me.
