The first season of the anime will probably cover everything up to the point where the manga starts to turn into dogshit with the abomination that was the detective arc. In other words this anime's covering the best part of the source material. Furthermore, the art will give you an eyegasm and the characters are enjoyable in the same way that you would enjoy a spicy habanero McChicken. When I watch this anime it feels like I'm injecting pure serotonin directly into my veins. In conclusion, I have a hot vampire waifu fetish now and desire nothing more than to be sucked dry (of my ... blood).












It's also better than Love is War.

Man this manga was a 9/10 until it went from a superb slice of life to a shounen battle manga. Everything started to go downhill after the start of the detective arc. Additionally, the sad backstories were wholly unnecessary and only served to detract from the story. The manga should've done itself a favour and just stuck to its roots. That's not to mention that some of the characters introduced at the start of the story just don't show up for like 70 chapters for no reason. Like why man why. This could've been a fun, lighthearted, quirky slice of life with splendid art that ... explored the human condition by using the "call of the night" as a metaphor without getting too psychologically burdensome about it. Instead it's just... a disappointment. The first 30 to 50 chapters are some of the best manga I've ever read, and if the manga ended there it would be a 9/10. Therefore, if you do pick this up, just read the first 50 chapters and do not venture any further. The dichotomy between the first 50 chapters and the rest of the manga is just depressing to behold.

In conclusion, the first 30ish chapters of the manga were so good that it cured my depression. Unfortunately the rest of the manga was so shit that I relapsed and have since been rendered wholly void of my will to live.
