I'll be short and sweet with this review. Looks great, for something came out 20 years ago. Characters and Story is pretty dire. Sound is good.

Visuals 10/10 - Really can't stress how good it is, there was clearly a lot of effort time and passion poured into the visual quality, but I will also give points to the style of it, the environments are very very well done and really help build the dystopian/post apocalyptic feeling the world. Face expression are phenomenal and filled with expression.

Story 4/10 - Boring in most places, very underdeveloped and the ending leaves so much left to ... be answered. For an hour thirty film I should not be feeling bored nor struggling to understand the story. The Villains are comically evil and incompetent at the same time. The length of film makes the ending feel oddly rushed, plot points left unresolved and some characters outright forgotten about in story never to be seen again.

Character 3/10 - Some side characters are better developed and more integral to the story then our MC's in a few places. These side characters actually raise the score as they are funny and decent. Our the MC's are just there I guess, they lack clear motive or drive.

Sound 7/10 - Run of the mill imo, but it all feels appropriate and well done. No real issues here.

Total 6/10 - Style over Substance, Style carries it HARD.

At surface level this anime appears to about three girls being recruited into a to club of sorts that stops aliens from attacking the school. Our MC is a reluctant heroine, she didn't want this role but she was chosen for it and must step up! But wait there's a catch! The girls must create a symbiotic relationship with another kind of alien called 'Borgs', and only with the help of the Borgs and by growing as a team can they protect the school!

But that's the surface level, when looking further in, this is a story fundamentally abut depression, loneliness and the importance on ... relying on others to overcome these challenges. It is a relatively short story that puts an emphasis on opening up to others.

I can't say much else as this OVA is only 4 30 minute episodes.

This anime is weird, I recommend it to people who like looking for those odd lesser known anime.

An improvement on the first!

The second season is better than the first, it has a better focus on characters and creates two interesting situations that help bring some variety and stops the story from going stale. It does well to address some of the short comings of the first season and aside for some things its good.

However one problem was prominent in the first season has unfortunately been retained, this problem is the issue of scale and distance. It can be hard to believe how characters seemingly zip around to different locations in such a short time, this can make it hard to ... track where the different stories are going on. But if you can look beyond this and enjoy some post apoc themes then you will most likely enjoy 7 Seeds 2nd Season

Melody of Oblivion is relatively unimpressive anime that seems to struggle with what it wants to do with its self.


For everything good, there is something bad. For everything interesting, there is something boring.


While I can see this being something some people may love I can see the opposite with some people who may hate it.

In order to give some balance I will say what I liked, the start. The start of this anime is very good to me, we are informed about the world, shown the powers of the invaders and we leave with our MC on the run with a girl ... trying to find someone. However from this point onwards with some very few and brief exceptions it turns into a slow, confusing story where it is very easy to become bored of our MC.

All I can say is, if you want to watch it go ahead but have limited expectations.

Wow, the first few episodes confused me and the strange premise and idea really threw me off.

However as the show went on it all became clearer and more interesting not being held down by other tropes of the genre that tend to swamp down other anime, I really liked the characters in this as they seemed to actually grow despite there only being 12 episodes.

While I think the art and animation is some what lacking, it is carried by everything else which makes it stand out. The story doesn't want to pull punches either, while there are some less important deaths they feel ... impactful and bring a slightly more mature feel to the anime.


In summary if you want a quick anime to watch with a good story, good characters with a good ending look not further than Deca-Dence.
