This review is NOT SPOILER FREE so do not read this if you haven't seen part 5, I won't talk about 6 or 7. That being said part 5 is by far my least favorite part out of the 7 parts I've read and seen. It isn't that part 5 is necessarily bad, it's just not as good as literally every other part, still better than Naruto though. But that's the thing about this part, unlike Araki's other work it is very surface level. It doesn't go above and beyond like parts 3 and 4 did in really every aspect other than art, and it

didn't have the short and sweet charm that parts 1 and 2 had.
We'll start with the story, which I gave a 7. At first the story seems like it's going to be interesting with talks of moving up through the mafia and such, something that seems different and interesting, but instead we get your average journey story like in part 3, just more rushed. and the rushed factor is something that I think really ruined this part. all the fights are back to back with no real breathing room. In part 3 (which I'll be comparing it to a lot since they both follow a journey like plot structure) they characters have plenty of time to goof around and be characters, whether that be through goofy one off stand battles not meant to be taken seriously, or genuine downtime during episodes. In part 5 we see fights back to back all the time so we don't get to know the characters at all really, including the main villain. Diavlo has little to no build up the entire series other than mentions of "the boss" which Dio is guilty of in part 3, the only difference being his build up existed in the form of part 1. and when we finally get to the final battle with Daivlo, it isn't even with him, because everyone's bodies got switched. This makes Diavlo a lot less menacing since he isn't in his own body anymore. but not only does that make the fight anticlimactic, the fact that they spend longer chasing down silver chariot requiem than fighting Diavlo. The final fight was very poorly done and felt rushed to me making it very anticlimactic.
next up is the art, and I personally think that part 5 has one of the best art styles in JoJo. the characters faces just look really nice to me with all the detail they have. But not only is the style itself good the character design is as well. While I don't think ppart 5 has the best designed character I do think that all of the designs are unique and memorable. Mista and Giorno specifaclly come to mind with some of the best character designs in the series.
the sound I found to be average for JoJo, although really good in general. the main themes are alright, but aren't nearly as good as any of the part 4 ones or bloody stream, although way better than the part 3 ones. Giorno's theme is very popular on the internet although I fond it to be far from my favorite, that being Josuke's theme, although it's not the worst, that goes to Jospeh's. I found the ending song to be a strange choice but also enjoyed how absurd it was and found it kind of funny.
The characters have to be my biggest problem with this part because I think every single character originating from this part is not a good character by JoJo standards. We'll start with Giorno, one of my least favorites of the part. Giorno is a borderline Mary sue, rarely messing up and being constantly hyped up by the other members of the passione. He's also a very arrogant character having lots of confidence in himself and his abilities, which makes sense given how rarely he messes up but makes for a boring character. He's very emotionless as well which is usually excused by his "traumatizing past" but even if that is a valid excuse it doesn't make him any less bland. An emotionless character done well in JoJo can be seen in Jotaro, due to the fact that he isn't actually emotionless. He only acts emotionless but deep down he has emotions he doesn't want to show, and when they do show it adds meaning to his character. Giorno on the other hand, really has two emotions, smug and angry. Mista is a character who really doesn't change throughout the story but I'm somewhat ok with that, if any character had to be bland it might as well have been the comic relief character. Fugo is a character of missed opportunity. He's really only used once and then he just sorta leaves. Who knows, maybe he would have been a good character if they let him have a chance. Narancia I found to be kinda annoying a lot of times and his relationship with Trish I see portrayed as an important thing when in reality I never really saw that. His death is also very poorly done. For one he dies of camera, instantly removing all chances of a meaningful death, but not only that, he dies in Giornos body, making twice as ineffective. But to add even more ineffectiveness to his death, he had no real character development, like with most of the crew, resulting in me really not caring that he died. The same story can really be said with Abacchio as well. Abacchio is the classic character archetype of edgy guy who doesn't like the knew guy MC but overtime warms up to him that has been seen in fiction t]since the dawn of time, so there was really nothing interesting about him at all. His death suffered from the same things Narancia's did, It was done off screen, and his lack of character development removed it's effectiveness. Bruno was one of the better characters in my opinion acting as the leader of the group, he didn't go through much character development either but he is just a semi enjoyable character. His death was also poorly done though, kind of ruining the experience. He technically dies in the basement in Venice but actually becomes a zombie and then slowly dies for the rest if the series until the final battle. The fact you know his death is coming makes it very unimpactful and you've already accepted it by the time it's come, removing the shock and small amount of grief usually seen in character deaths. Trish is a character who goes through basic character development throughout the series. She starts off as a sassy character who wants it their way or the highway and is only sticking around the main group because they have to. But then after one fateful stand battle she realizes that she likes the main group and goes on to help them in the final battle. Sound familiar? It's the same arc Iggy had in part 3 except without the sacrifice at the end to add meaning to it, so it's just worse. As you can see the characters in part 5 are very poorly done.
Finally my enjoyment. I did not enjoy this part as much as the other parts because it removed the one thing that separated JoJo from mother Shonen type shows out there, thart being the comedy. The comedy wasn't removed entirely, still poking it's head out, seen in Giorno's piss drinking moment or Giorno's dick sucking moment, but it overall was a lot less than previous parts. I myself enjoy comedy in my shows, it's why I love JoJo so much, but they really toned down the comedy for this one making it a lot more serious than other parts.
Overall this is by far the worst part of JoJo but it still wasn't horrible, and the only reason I shit on this part so much is because I love JoJo and want to see it at it's best, which part 5 definitely isn't. and if your reading this wondering if it gets any better, part 6 will bring back the JoJo quality we all know and love.

This is probably the peak of human artistic potential. I believe that no work will ever match the shear quality that is contained in this short episode. This episode follows the character Kazuma who the viewer gets to live through in order to obtain their fantasies. In this episode the brilliant plot brings Kazuma into contact with a magical choker that will slowly strangles him until his death unless the thing he wishes for comes true. Kazuma thinking ahead puts the choker on in order to get his entourage of attractive women and Megumin to partake in lewd activities for his and the viewers enjoyment.
