I'll be dividing this review in Story, Art and Characters, ending of course with a conclusion.
[STORY]: Great Mazinger starts right where Mazinger Z left wich is not to say much because Mazinger Z just finished from one chapter to another. We found ourselves again following the young Kouji Kabuto and his friends in their fight to stop the evil forces of Dr. Hell. But this won't be the main focus of the story because Great Mazinger actually gives us the conclusion to the seemingly endless fight between Mazinger Z and Dr. Hell's army. After this we are presented to a new enemy, the Mycenae Empire,
...
an ancient civilization that wants to conquer the world. With this new enemy we are also presented with a new protagonist Tetsuya Tsurugi, the pilot of the recently created Great Mazinger. As you could expect the story continues with a series of fights between Great Mazinger and the Mycenae Empire, but this time we do have a proper conclusion to the story.
Although the monster of the week formula is repeated in this new series it is much less exploited. And having a proper ending this time around is a welcome addition (not to count the ending to Mazinger Z)
[Art]: Well, there's not much to talk about in this regard. You kinda like it or not, i myself really enjoy the expressiveness of the drawings made by Go Nagai. The action is perfect, over the top powers with super creative designs are all you need to enjoy a good fight.
[Characters]: Here is were the manga drags the most, apart from the definig characteristics of each character you are not given too much reason to care. For the most part they end up being one-dimensional characters with no other objective than to being bad ass, funny or evil.
In conlusion Great Mazinger is an improvement from it's predecessor Mazinger Z, but it still misses some shots. I'd say that if you liked Mazinger Z or you like good old mechs you give it a try. If you haven't already readed Mazinger Z i would recomend you to go and read that one before starting this one.

"Just Because!" is the name of this anime but it is also the reason why im watching this, just beacause... okay, let's jump to review
The story is about a boy who comes back to his old neighborhood where he re-encounters with an old friend of his. As you can see story wise the anime is pretty vanilla wich is not a bad thing but certanly doesn't help to make it more interesting.
The art is ok, but the color scheme is pretty bland giving the anime an even more uninteresting look. Also the animation is pretty unsubstantial from a moment to another you are with a
...
grounded style of animation an then the show decides to go full on spocon. Sound is good, but nothing to write home about. The characters are more of the same generic slice of life tropes you've seen a million times, with, once again, uninspired designs. Another thing to notice is that the humor is bad, it's all reaction base humor with jokes that never land.
The enoyment of this series is almost non-existant it is mediocrity at it's best.
Overall don't watch it unless you want to stack another anime or you REALLY like this genre.

Ok, this is my first time writing a review so..
Well, where do we start? I guess from the begining. Dive!! is an anime about, you guessed it, diving, but it does little to nothing to get you exited for it. As we all know, at least the ones that have already watched an spocon, you don't have to like the sport that the series is about, you don't even have to know about it's very existance to like the anime itself and that is one of the many things this show does wrong. The anime fails in selling you the sport, they barely explain how
...
the scores work and how the judges judge, and what the difference is between a good and a bad dive, an so on. So, having failed with one of the most important things of this anime genre we naturally proceed to take a look at the next most important thing, the characters. You would think that this is were the anime shines, but you'd be wrong, this is the worst part of the anime. But how? Well, by making them totally generic archetypes or worse, making them less than that. You have the protagonist which... likes to... dive? Yeah you don't know much about him other than that and the fact that he had his ex-girlfriend taken by his douchebag brother (yeah, you sure like that NTR shit). Ok, but we have a supporting cast right? Of course, we sure have! We have Yoichi which is the talented boy with no other trait, we of course have the underdog Okitsu which at first dislikes diving but... guess he starts to like it further into the series. And theeen we have the rest of the cast which are only there because the world is suposed to be habiteted by other human beings, but in this case you don't give a fuck. Now that we are done with the "characters" we can analyze this beautiful story. They want to go to the Olyimpics, that's it. Soooo, what else can i tell you? The artstyle is fine and so is the sound, but at this point you don't care about that.
In conclusion Dive!! is a bad anime, don't waste your time watching it unless you want to stack another anime to your list ;)
