If you liked Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within add

...then you might like Appleseed Alpha add

Both of these movies are CGI - both very well done for the years that they came out in. Appleseed Alpha is a reboot of the Appleseed franchise with a new setting/storyline, similar to a Hollywood blockbuster in the same way that The Spirits Within is more of an action/survival story than a traditional anime. If you enjoyed one, you will enjoy the other. Both are stand alone movies (you do not need to know about the final fantasy games or have seen the other Appleseed movies in order to enjoy them), and the English voice acting in both is extremely well done and comprised of some of the best VA talents you could hope for.

If you liked Blue Gender add

...then you might like Shingeki no Kyojin add

Both anime shows feature the last of the human race fighting against the monsters that have brought them to the brink of extinction. In Blue Gender, those monsters are the bug-like creatures known as the Blue and in attack on titan, you have the giant humanoid titans. In both shows, you get a plethora of emotional deaths and angst.

If you liked Myself; Yourself add

...then you might like Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai. add

If you enjoyed the friendship aspect of the characters in one anime, I recommend the other. Both shows have the theme of a group of childhood friends reuniting after a long time. While I think Myself; Yourself deals with a few darker aspects (and although one show is a few years older than the other), overcoming past quarrels/issues to reunite and rediscover old friendship bonds is prevalent in both anime - as well as they can both be considered emotional, slice-of-life, short anime series with a pinch of romance that have made at least someone out there shed a few unexpected tears.
