Wasted potential is this anime in a nutshell. It had the ability to become a fantastic anime with a decent plot, but a rushed story-line and a lack of background ruin everything it could've been.

[Story - 4/10] The anime disappoints right off the bat by failing to inform the watcher why the hell the main character is destroying all the shit he is. All we know that he's the main character and he's supposed to be the good guy, but it never tells us why. Furthermore, it never goes into depth about what powers people have, and where they originate from. The prime fields are ... another example out of the dozens of random stuff that are in this anime. You have to have either read the plot summaries on the wiki page or have actually played the game to understand any of this. A similar comparison would be Danganronpa, which aired earlier this year. Despite both games coming from a video game background, Dangan actually manages to explain what's going on in the anime. Granted, Blazblue is a much more complicated world, but at least one episode spent on explaining everything would've been nice.

[Art - 7/10] It's actually pretty nice, but there's a large lack of diversity in the characters, and nothing outstanding.

[Sound - 6/10] The OP and ED are alright I guess, but each of the character's voices sound waaay off from what they should be (Jin sounds like a 15 year old girl sometimes).

[Character - 4/10] As far as I know, none of the characters are explained at all, and thus it's hard to base any changes throughout the anime on what they were in the beginning. Why does Jin want to kill his brother? Why does Ragna hate Noel's face despite her looking like his long lost sister?? None of these things are explained well, and it hurts the anime as a whole.

[Enjoyment - 6/10] Despite this harsh criticism, I still watched the anime to it's completion. However. If you truly want to enjoy the anime, I highly recommend reading the wiki page and spoiling it a bit, otherwise you won't understand a thing.

Overall the anime isn't terrible on it's own, but coupled with the lack of information about the world they're in, as well as the backgrounds of all the characters, it loses out on many of the animes that came out this season. However, if you ever have time to burn, try this anime out, but be ready to be confused as hell unless you read the wiki.

Following suit of the overly popular Sword Art Online, RealPG takes place in a special castle themed area with video game like characteristics such as levels, abilities, floors, etc. To be completely honest, this manga updated so slowly that I forgot if there was a way to win, but I'm guessing it's to get to the the top of the castle (100th floor anyone?). I had extremely high hopes for this manga after reading the first few chapters, loving the extremely strong start and the captivating initial plot. However, there are a few flaws that heavily impacted my enjoyability of the manga.

Story 7/10: As I ... mentioned before, the manga had an very strong start, and got me hooked in the first few chapters. However, most of the plot is very rushed, and it's not clearly explained. More than once I had to go back and reread some bits to get a better understanding of what the chapter was about, and even then some of the parts were unclear. Also, the ending is the epitome of unsatisfying. Instead of having a few chapters after the climax, or even one, the author stuffs the climax, resolution, and ending all into around 20 pages, hardly enough to explain all the **** that went on the other 10 pages. A lot of the concepts were also unclear. Despite having a decent foundation, the middle and end fail to satisfy imo.

P.S. This is not necessarily the manga's fault, but the chapters were updated so slowly that I forgot most of the plot by the time the next chapter updated, making me reread the entire thing.

Art 9/10: The art is fantastic, but there were a few flaws such as cluttered pictures and some intentionally messy bits that made me just skim over it.

Character 6/10: Almost no character development, save for maybe 2 characters. The characters weren't captivating, and I can really only say one character made me feel anything. The dialogue just seems a bit too fast to be realistic.

Enjoyment 8/10: This maybe coming off my SAO high, but I really enjoyed the beginning of the manga, and had high hopes for it. Maybe I just don't understand it well enough, but it fell off in the middle and died in the end.

Overall 7/10: It's not completely horrible, and it's worth about 20 minutes of reading or so out of your day if you have nothing to do, but it is by no means a masterpiece. Anyone who absolutely loved SAO (and I mean like figurines and plushies and pillows and whatnot) should definitely enjoy this. However, if you're anything like me, the manga is slightly above mediocre at best.

Dracu-Riot is basically the stereotypical harem. Tsundere, loli, completely innocent, and ecchi sketch girls are all included in this, along with a little yaoi. However, each character brings about their own little charm that sets this harem above the rest, along with a story that actually made me go to the visual novel and try reading it (translation ended on chapter 5. Q.Q)

Story 9/10: Apart from the harem, Dracu-Riot's (to be referred to as DR) story is actually quite good. Our main character Yuuto was with his bfffl Naoto when he accidentally is involved with a police set-up and becomes a vampire. The story is ... about all the little things that happen, as well as Yuuto developing his own powers, which are far beyond what other vampires can do, and his quest to return to his normal human life. Of course, also included is his reactions to all of the girls around him.

Art 8/10: I'm horrible at noticing art, but the characters are well drawn, each having their own unique aura.

Character 8/10: Stereotypical harem characters, but nevertheless very well described, and their own charms make me want to root for all of them (which is very rare. Most times I automatically point at one girl and say "she's gonna win")

Enjoyment 10/10: Just because I am a guy, does not mean I enjoyed this just for the harem aspect. I really enjoyed the story (though it's based off the vn) as well as the characters in it. Elina provides a lot of comic relief, and Riu is laughably innocent.

Overall 9/10: Great harem, I'd say one of the best, if not the best, harem I've ever read. I'd definitely recommend this to anybody who enjoys any sort of harem.

To be honest, I've seen this anime about 4 months ago on the anime's to watch list back in 2012, but I had skipped over it thinking it was another standard harem. However, this is one of the best anime's I've seen, combining comedy, romance, unrequited love, an innocent girl, girl looking guy, crazy girl, and light fanservice all into one.

Story 9/10: The plot of the story doesn't sound all that interesting by itself, but what really shines is how each character will interact with the story. Though it's a ... bit predictable, each character throughout each "arc" will encounter a problem that takes the collaborative efforts of everyone to push through it.

Slight spoiler, but toward the end the story really touched my heart, and was very emotional. I thoroughly enjoyed the ending, and I'm quite impressed at the ending. (someone pointed it out that it's based on the light novel or something, but nevertheless it is still an amazing story). It's one of the few animes that has actually left me with goosebumbs as the series finished.

Art 7/10: The artwork that they show in the anime itself is amazing, showing some amazing computer artistry. However, the characters themselves are fairly normal, with the only exception being Mashiro imo, who has the "dont care" look about her.

Sound 7/10: I hardly ever pay attention to the sound in the anime, so take this part with a grain of salt
Nothing amazing, nothing horrible.

Character 8/10: Mashiro seems to be the only character that develops at all, but all the characters fulfill the roles that they are in fairly well. Akataka is amazing in his own right, however, being the anti social person he his, but still having a unique personality. However, Jin is the real gold gem among all of them, having such humorous dialogue that goes really well with Mashiro's actions.

UPDATED VERSION: I feel the need to amend my earlier review on the character. All the main characters, par Jin, Misaki, and Chihiro-sensei, have developed throughout the anime. I think that no anime is good without some sort of character development, because without it I feel like I've walked in a giant circle and remain unsatisfied. However, Sakurasou fulfills my desire for change, and really left a lasting impression on me.

Enjoyment 10/10: I could hardly stop laughing between all the gags in the shows. I won't spoil anything, but Kanda's reactions are hilarious.

Overall 9/10: Fairly standard slice of life ish anime (sorry if I'm wrong, just tryig out some new lingo) but amazing in its own right. If you enjoyed any comedy romances, then this is an amazing pick up.

Update: The anime honestly has been one of the most shocking, influential, and touching anime that I've ever watched. The feeling I had toward the end definitely left an impact on me, and I wish that they would add a sequel or something of the like, as I'd love to see what would happen later. However, I doubt this will happen, as it ended on a solid and satisfying note.

Kaze no Stigma is a story about the heir of the legendary Kannagi's, who are well known throughout the world for being the most powerful fire-type mages in the world, due to their ancestor becoming a contractor one of the great 4 spirits, obviously the one of fire. However, Kazuma Kannagi lacks the ability for fire-type magic. His father expels him from the family, telling him to never return.

4 Years later, Kazuma returns as one of the most powerful wind mages to ever roam ... the land. I can't go much deeper without spoilers, but the plot is extremely well done.

Story 10/10: If you read the above, you probably think you can see what's going to happen in the anime. However, there are many greater in-depth stories within the story, including what happened within the last 4 years that drove Kazuma to become the badass he is. Definitively a strong point in the anime.

Art 7/10: The art isnt horrible. However, there is one picture that constantly shows up every episode after the "commercial" that I absolutely hate, as it's shown every time one of the main characters pulls out her sword. Otherwise, the anime is very well drawn.

Sound 8/10: The op for this anime never changes throughout the entire run, which is disappointing since it is a 24 episode anime. However, the sound effects are well done, and the music in the anime itself accompanies whats going on very well.

Character 9/10: Some major character development, but only for about 2 characters, and maybe even 3. The growth that goes on in the anime is outstanding, and the characters end up completely changed at the end of the anime.


Enjoyment 8/10: Maybe it was because I was watching it at 2 am, but the anime doesn't really stick to me, except toward the end, where Kazuma's missing years are explained (kinda). However, it kept me watching until the very end, which is a plus, considering I drop a lot of anime within a few days.

Overall 8/10: Overall it's decently well done, but a few shortcomings bring it down to an 8. However, if you enjoy strong main protagonists and requited love, then this is a great anime for you.

Review #3

The story's mainly about a high school teenager whose main purpose in life is to change the world into a safe place for his sister Nannally. Fighting against the government of the mega country Britiannia, the main character takes up the persona of a hero/villain/robin hood like person and utilizes the power of his geass, the power of the kings, given to him by the unknown being CC.

Story 9/10: The overall story was great, and is very effective at hooking the viewer and making him or her want more. I was tempted many times to read the wiki because I felt like the anime moved ... too slowly for me, but still kept watching because I knew I would regret missing some of the small details that the writers threw in. I love how the writers keep the interactions between the characters very tight, and more than once had me yelling at the screen because once again two of the main characters refuse to see each other.

Art 7/10: The character design for me seems to be a little more realistic than I would like, but is still great.

Sound 8/10: Standardish anime music. Nothing outstanding.

Character 9/10: The characters in the story all have their own reasons for doing what they do, and made me support them no matter which side they were on. Kudos to the writers for creating such amazing characters. However, there are a few people whom I feel contributed little to the anime, but nevertheless are in it. Though they don't detract too much from the main story, I wish the authors focused more on the main characters and the realtionships/struggles they face.

Enjoyment 8/10: Enjoyable, but still somewhat disappointed at some parts in the anime.

Overall 8/10: This is a great anime to pick up for anyone who enjoys shounens such as Naruto. But for the diehard shoujo fan I am, it's decent, but not chair gripping worthy.
