Both manga have a very unique romance setting tied in with youth. They also both give a third person point of view that adds to the reader's appreciation for the humorous parts, yet can still keep you guessing and anticipating what will happen next. The art style is also relatively similar, and share a more "cartoonish" character style during certain moments. Altogether I wish that I had found both of these much sooner than I did and strongly recommend them to any adolescent or teen reader.
