Preliminary (2/12 eps)
What if we take Junji Ito. a notoriously terrible writer and take away everything he does well like detail and atmosphere? Well you end up with this steaming turd of an anime. You can legit look up any of these stories online, read them in a few minutes and appreciate it 100x more. Nothing of substance is added here, the shot composition is dreadful, every corner is cut as far as animation goes. The art itself is just uninspired and poorly detailed. It's faithful to the horrendous writing featured in Ito's shorts but without compensating for a thing. Voice acting, score? Something?! Merely adapting paper ...

Summary:

A fun venture into the animated world of Star Wars, but ultimately too thin in substance and creativity writing wise to leave you with any strong lasting feelings.

My ranking of episodes:

Ass pulls, plot contrivances, nonexistent animation replaced with an abundance of slide shows, terrible writing, rushed plotting, skipped or rushed character development, bland lifeless and ugly cinematography and and an insane ending in all the worst ways.

There's nothing left to say really, watch season 1 and then go and find the manga, don't bother with the second season, it butchers the source material while simultaneously giving you a low quality and rushed followup to season 1. As much as I prefer hearing the music and animation and voice acting over staring at black and white silent panels there's just nothing to latch onto here, it's ...

Retreads a bit too much, rushes what could be a pretty compelling arc, forces new and incredibly pivotal to the emotional plot on you without really nailing it and suffers from plot convenience after plot convenience sucking away all tension and drama.

It's a shame, for a show that felt so fresh and unique it's kinda just treading water at this point, repeating the twists and shock we've seen before all while not really developing much of anything.

Nanachi is probably the highlight here, only for the sake that she(?) has some sort of closure(but not really) to her story thus far. We learn nothing about ...

Gantz (Anime) add
Gantz, a black comedy anime with many dragging moments with just as many shockingly awesome moments. If you love gore, nudity, violence and cursing then this anime will make you smile and laugh. Unfortunately it's not for everyone. If you prefer an anime with a solid ending and character development I'd say stay away from this. The anime was cut short due to budget issues, the manga extends much longer and the plot is much different. If you don't mind having a lackluster ending than I'd say give this anime a go. It's got a interesting story with a lot of characters you may enjoy ...

Death Note (Anime) add
A masterpiece, simply said. Death Note is everything an anime should be. The first unique anime that changed the way I felt about animes. Death Note was the anime that got me back into animes. I was an avid watcher of anime on Toonami and Anime Unleashed on Tech TV. As I grew older I separated from animes and felt that nothing new would ever be as good as an anime during my childhood. Well I was wrong, this anime blew me a way in more then words can describe. The love you will feel for these characters will stay long after you've finished watching ...

A great brawler anime with a story that's straight forward for the most part. It follows the same pattern Dragonball does. The characters keep getting stronger and by the end they're so powerful that their previous self looks pathetically weak. What makes this anime great is not only the entertaining action, but the variety of characters. Every viewer will find a character, if not several that they love. I watched the dub and the voice acting felt spot on. The character development with Yusuke is the most interesting(being the main character), his transformation from the start to end is one that the watcher will be ...

A compelling thriller with great character developement. Code Geass is exactly what you'll want out of a serious thought provoking yet action filled anime. If you loved Death Note and are a fan of mecha animes, then you'll definitely find something to love in this anime. Its only problem for me was my own inability to attach to the characters as much as I wanted. They're great don't get me wrong, but I felt it is in the shadow of Death Note for me. Overall, a spectacular anime and a must watch for anyone trying to find a more adult and serious styled anime. A ...
