Story wise, it's not the best. Pretty predictable plotline (so far, at least. Currently there's 6 episodes out). Smut wise? It's a bisexual dream, lol. It's rare to get a graphic yaoi, but that mixed in with the hetero sex? It's super hot and sexy, lol.
The main character gets turned into a girl, and will sort of randomly turn back into a by- and his best friend devours him either way. It's a super short, super straightforward, sexy hentai. Highly recommend, it's definitely one of my favorites in terms of the smut aspect. The character designs are really nice, too.
Once again, the story is very
...
generic. If you're familiar with yaoi (or honestly hentai in general), you understand that whole: "Wait, no, ahhh! Don't! Why does it feel so good!!" storyline. It's the same for this. The reason is sticks out is because even as a boy, we get some pretty good smut scenes- especially considering the last actually graphic yaoi we ever got was Sensitive Pornograph (I don't really count Papa Datte Shitai because it only showed once or twice, lol), this is a huge step up haha. And if you're into yaoi AND het-- it really is one of the hottest out there despite being so short, lol. I personally love how it seems to be leading to romance, rather than just porn. Alwayas a sucker for that. I am a bit tired of the same old tropes and lines, but it's at least good for the smut of it, lol. I like it overall, it's a nice change of pace for this genre! I do recommend it.

I will be frank and try not to give spoilers as best as I can but: This is not a story you should expect a happy ending from. This is not lighthearted and it's not romantic. Be prepared for lots of dark twists are turns. If you can't handle or are triggered by stories with sexual harassment, stalking or r*pe then you 100% should NOT be reading this.
That being said, if you're into that sort of plot this is a great read. This story made me so physically uncomfortable and left me feeling gross- but I just couldn't stop reading, lol. If you're not familiar
...
with Harada-sensei's works, the thing you have to remember is that they rarely have a happy plot line. They've become quite known for having sick plots to their manga (although they have some great cute/fluffy works), but Color Recipe hit different for some reason. If I didn't know the baseline for the plot before going in, I would've had quite a few shocks from the twists in it.
I think the reason this manga felt so harsh to me personally is because the 2 main characters felt so real to me. They didn't seem exaggerated. The fact that people as sick as the antagonist of this story really exist creep me out to no end. Harada's characters are always so interesting. When I first started reading I was wondering why the art looked so familiar, and then the plot picked up and I went, "Ahh, this must be Harada and I didn't realize." There's just this sick sense of realism with it that made my heart race with anxiety. This is definitely not for the light of heart. It was nothing I couldn't handle but this story was very psychological. I think Harada-sensei does a very good job of showing what trauma looks like in victims and I thought that was a really nice touch.
The only reason I'm rating this an 8 instead of a 9 or a 10 is because it was so disturbing to me, lol. I enjoyed it in terms of story, but I couldn't /really/ enjoy it until a couple days later when I could let it digest. In the moment, this definitely felt like a thriller manga, at least. Actually I think a thriller or a psychological horror would fit this more than "yaoi" would since yaoi is usually associated with romance. There was no romance in this. It's a very messed up story, but it's so well written. I really do recommend this manga but ONLY if you like dark storylines. I don't think I'll reread it because it makes my stomach churn, lol, but it's a very interesting story.

Definitely don't recommend to people who can't handle r*pe in stories (and graphic r*pe, at that). It weirdly ended up being a good ending??? Especially compared to most of sensei's other works. It's a very intense story with pretty dark plotlines but it's an interesting read. I couldn't stop reading, even in moments I was uncomfortable (which was often, lol). Gengoroh Tagame is definitely a very talented author/artist but his works tend to be very messed up, lol. That being said, in a way this was sort of nice change of pace for his stories. I'm not usually a fan of the plots of his
...
things, but I always catch myself curiously reading them. This is one of the few I'm kind of okay that I clicked on. Very interesting read! Just be cautious if you're not into/not used to intense storylines, gore or dark sexual themes. There were several things I would classify as disgusting that happened.
((Spoiler for the ending))
Since this is in the world of fiction, I will give this manga a passing grade, lol. If you think to much about this happening IRL then it's definitely too sickening. A relationship like the two main character's should not have lead to a beautiful marriage, lmfao. Even if the guy who constantly r*pes the main character had "good intentions" behind it and did it because of his own trauma... no. It's gross. MC should have moved on and found someone who didn't abuse him for years, lol. But again, it's not real so it is what it is. As long as I remind myself it was a fictional story, I can enjoy the marriage that came out of it because it did end up being pretty cutely written after all the nasty parts were through, haha. But again… really messed up journey.

I read this years ago in my teens and randomly found it again, decided to give it a read and suddenly had a lot to say about it so here goes nothing, lol.
I really love the art in this. The first couple is definitely the best one in here. It's so cute! Very sweet story between those two, I really wish the whole manga was their beginning to end to be honest. Seeing the characters learn to accept themselves through each other was very heartwarming.
The second couple was also very cute. Both the first and second kind of shows the importance of communication but how
...
misunderstandings can be resolved. It was a really adorable story of a jealous lover not knowing how to express himself.
The third couple was... something, lol. The reason I can't bring myself to give this manga a higher rating is because of the 3rd and 4th stories. In my opinion, this 3rd couple just didn't sit right with me. In the end, I ended up enjoying it a lot- but that's only because it's fiction. Trying not to give spoilers but I just don't feel like they had a good dynamic. I mean, it was practically abuse with the amount of neglect from the love interest! I don't know, it just seemed wrong for them to be together after such an awful history, lol. That being said, it ended up being really cute. I just wasn't really a fan of the way the characters worked as a couple until the very end of the chapter.
Now the fourth and final couple... is not for everybody, lol. It's a 17 year old student with his teacher. I'll be honest, I usually don't mind dynamics like this when done right but this one made me a bit uncomfortable because of the lack of... consent from the teen in the first scene. It had a happy ending but ehhh, but I just really felt like it wasn't necessary. Fiction or not, it jus left a bad taste in my mouth so I figured I'd at least mention it.
Now, all this being said: If you're just looking for graphic yaoi sex and don't give a single care of the story, 10/10 recommend this. And if you are looking for a decent story alongside it, the first couple is definitely the best one here in my opinion. The second is good and third couple is decent overall! The last couple just be wary of if you're not into teacher/student couples. Not my cup of tea, personally.

Very cute and a fun pass-time! I love it a lot and I recommend it if you need something lighthearted and quick. It's a good thing to watch especially after a very intense show or when you're feeling down, it's a good pick-me-up. The episodes are short so it doesn't take a lot of time up but it manages to put a smile on your face! I really enjoyed this anime, as silly as it was and I think most people can enjoy it. It's not very "plot" based considering the short time frame but the characters are lovable and the anime as a whole
...
is super enjoyable.
