Sousou no Frieren is being considered the best anime ever in this website. Personally, my own experience with Frieren was watching the very first episode when it released, thinking it was just fine, and then forgetting about it until I saw a lot of people over the internet praise it like it's the second coming of Christ. I ignored it at first, but eventually I got too curious and decided to go watch the rest of the anime. After binge watching it in like 3 days, my honest and objective opinion is...Frieren is extremely overrated. And anyone who actually believes this is the best anime
...
ever, or that it even belongs in a top 50th, clearly have not watched more than 5 anime.
It is by no means horrible, but it's one of the most "okay" anime I've ever watched. And I know exactly why it is so popular with normies. The anime panders HARD to your emotions. What I mean by that is that almost every episode tries to make you cry and feel sad about characters that you barely know anything about. In the very first episode they give us a funeral scene, of a character you know nothing about, and we see Frieren crying. I mean I get what the scene is representing, but there was not enough buildup for me to care. And pretty much every episode tries to pull on your heartstrings, so yeah I can see why it was so impactful for some people, especially women. Personally I find it hard to cry over sad scenes that are build up through short flashbacks. Every time it happened it made me wish that this anime was like a season 2, and that Frieren's first adventure was season 1. That would had definitely made me care way more. In fact, the flashbacks made the first adventure way more interesting than what we actually get to watch.
The plot is by far the weakest part of this anime, and I can easily explain everything that happens in the 28 episodes. Frieren finishes her first adventure, then she goes on her own adventure with a new disciple, then they meet the disciple of Frieren's friend, and all three of them travel together to defeat the demon lord or whatever, and during the journey Frieren keeps going through places she has been with her previous party, and every time Frieren has sad flashbacks, then sometimes you get some world building, and eventually the anime gets to the "competition arc" and that's pretty much it for the rest of the season. It is a very slow anime, and season 1 feels like it was 20% of what the complete story is, which makes it even funnier that people are already praising it so hard. Maybe if this was season 3, but so far nothing really that amazing happened to consider this story even close to decent, and it's not even unique or anything.
In all honesty I did not hate the anime, cuz otherwise I wouldn't have finished it. There's a couple good moments and characters that made me wish there was already second season to watch, because as it is the story is just unfinished, and what I have seen so far isn't enough for me to recommend this anime over all the actually great series out there.

I just finished reading and it was good enough that decided I need to write a review while the story is still fresh in my mind. If you are wondering about reading it or not, just go and read it. It`s a really short story, might take you 1 hour or less to finish, and it will probably be one of the most well written short stories you ever read. It took me a while to sit and read it myself and now I kinda regret it because it is just the type of story I enjoy. Despite being short, the story got a couple
...
twists, some dialogues subtly hints on future information, and the events can be relatable for most readers.
With that said, I do have a small nitpick, which was the main character's personality. Spoiling a little bit, he just felt unrealistic weird to me. First thing I wondered to myself was if he was autistic. Even after I finished reading and had all the information about his life, I still feel like the way he deals with situations was way beyond what a mental problem could be like. Maybe that's what the author intended, or maybe not. Regardless, it's just a small thing that bugged me a bit.
Now for the best part: the ending. It is one of those that leave itself open for interpretation. Well, not really. Knowing how the author is, I personally do feel the ending can be seen in two ways. First, you can see it from the realistic perspective: the protagonist sees what he sees for the benefit of his own well-being. I admit that is the perspective that make the most sense, and fits the protagonist more.
And from the fantasy perspective, which I also enjoy: what we see happening is what REALLY happened, regardless of how ridiculous it seems. She really was what she said she was, and the protagonist really did what he did at the end as a form of "revenge" against her. Yes, I do realize it's less believable, but you also need to remember that this story was written by Fujimoto, and he could very well go for a ending like that. But mostly this is just my brain having more fun with the story.
Last, I must say this. This manga would be perfect as an anime! A movie length would fit the best, but a full 12 episodes anime could also be great, by maybe expanding more on the events that were rushed through. Now that Fujimoto is more known after the Chainsaw Man anime aired, maybe this manga could get an animation as well. This short manga seriously deserves it.

It is very important that I make this one thing clear: I REALLY DISLIKE SOCCER. I grew up with all my friends around me playing it all the time, and I had to force myself to play with them just so I wouldn't feel left alone. It's not that I dislike sports in general, just that soccer is one of my least favorite ones. Even so, I never really bothered to watch any sport anime at all.
With that out of the way...BLUE LOCK IS FUCKING GREAT! I actually just picked it to watch thinking it was like a typical shounen fighting anime, and now I
...
find myself getting excited for the next episodes. And I know exactly why I am enjoying this sport anime: the plot is actually unique for a sports anime, it is very well animated(so far anyway), and the way how everything is presented very dramatically like it is an actual shounen anime with cool powers and visual effects, and pretty unique cast of characters that are also very well drawn and designed.
The plot is simple but original. The protagonist is chosen to participate in some type of battle royale where only the best and most egoistic soccer player will survive. Right away that already made me interested, but other than the plot and it's presentation, I also really like more characters presented so far. Even the protagonist, who is usually basic and boring do-gooder Gary Stu, is actually a pretty inferior guy who, even if he is still a nice guy, still got that egoistic nature that makes him walk over other players to climb the top and fight against the bigger dogs that he isn't really able to handle yet. That really caught me off guard about the protagonist and it makes me wanna keep watching to see how cooler he can get.
The series is currently still airing so I have no idea if the series will keep being good, but I think regardless of the outcome, I will still enjoy it because I already know this anime is already in it's own place, and isn't just following the same old sports anime formula.

Yosuga no Sora is one of those controversial anime that freaks out the normies due to containing incest. It is a very ECCHI anime, borderline hentai with actual sex scenes going on, just not showing genitals. But its a damn good ecchi anime, and even with my high standards I still enjoyed watching it.
By good ecchi anime I mean that not only the anime is well drawn and animated, but also I found the story to be pretty entertaining. Its not complex or anything like that, its more like a romantic drama. There are multiple characters (mostly girls), and they all have their relationship
...
with the main protagonist, and the anime does a decent job in giving them their own episodes.
Haru and Sora are siblings that lost their parents, and they are coming back to their childhood home, which is in the countryside(which is always a setting that I love in anime). As episodes progress, you watch the girls falling for the handsome MC as is typical of harem anime. But then you find out that Sora also has a thing for her brother, and thats basically the premise. Where I think that YnS makes itself good is that the relationships are portrayed pretty realistically, with characters reacting accordingly to how the protagonist spend time with other girls, for example. And as the situation escalates, you get a proper ending that isnt exactly happy for everyone.
Something else that is worth mentioning is the music. The music in Yosuga no Sora is AMAZING. Possibly the best part of the anime if you love comfy and chill tracks that fits a rainy day. Even if you dont want to bother watching the anime, just do yourself a favor and look up the Yosuga No Sora OST on Youtube and give it a listen. To be very honest, I most probably wouldnt had enjoyed the anime half as much if it wasnt accompanied by the beautiful tracks.
Anyway, this is as much as I will bother writing a review. I sincerely see Yosuga No Sora as a beautiful "adult" story, and I will definitely rewatch it someday, as well as read the visual novel, which is something I never bother to do with most anime series, especially harem ones.

I am writing this review just to let anyone who might be interested in Muv-Luv to NOT WATCH THIS ANIME AND GO READ THE VISUAL NOVELS INSTEAD!
The original Muv Luv trilogy(Muv Luv, Unlimited, Alternative) is one of THE BEST visual novels ever made, so its a great read regardless if you either never read a visual novel before or if you already reads them. This anime adaptation just does not do the visual novel justice, so if by any chance you happen to like this anime even just a bit then you DEFINITELY should go read the visual novels.
Muv Luv is a story about a
...
version of Earth that has been invaded by the BETA, one of the most terrifying alien species ever created in fictional media. The only way humans are able to defeat the BETA is by using mechas, but even early on you can tell that their fight against the BETA is still pretty hopeless, meaning that this series got a lot of painful moments of despair and death.
Not just the story is well written but the characters too, and pretty much all of them react realistically to current situations, which is very important to these types of dark stories. You get to have carefree or romantic moments with your favorite waifus in between the tough times.
Anyway, I could go on and on about this series but this review is just to tell people to GO TRY THE VISUAL NOVEL, its VERY worth it for ANY anime fan out there. And if you happen to enjoy the first trilogy, there are at least 5 other spin-offs in the series that have been translated to english right now, not to mention manga as well, so you got a lot more reading if you so desire.

Gave it a watch and honestly it`s not that bad so far. Thought it was gonna be about a killing game, but it`s about a group of friends who get kidnapped and made to play a game where losing increases your debt, which damages the trust the friends had on each other. Decent plot that could either end up being good or bad depending on the writers.
Art is as generic as it comes tho, and theres barely any animation, but if the story is well done then I don`t mind those flaws at all.
Characters are okay so far. As the episodes goes, you find more
...
and more about their past and relationships, which comes into play during the debt games they gotta play.
Overall, seems to be one of the decent anime of the season.

Finally, a mystery anime about doppelgangers! That`s something I always wanted to see, and so far it seems to be written really well too.
Cool and intelligent protagonist, grasps his situation very quickly and comes up with well thought-out plans to deal with things, which is very refreshing to see. Though as always, the characters lack of reaction over the supernatural or life and death situations still bothers me. Writers need to understand that, in a realistic scenario, seeing clones of themselves or their relatives walking around killing people would most certainly cause panic and terror on a normal human mind. But hey, small nitpick from
...
me.
Anyway, this anime also has absolutely BEAUTIFUL animation. I was very surprised, it`s so well drawn and animated at times that it feels like it had a movie budget.
Not much else to say so far, just hoping that the quality of both the writing and animation doesn`t decrease as the episodes come out.

So...this was created by the same person who created Death Note and Bakuman. Thats why I watched it, and to be very honest I am still confused. Platinum End is so objectively terrible that it baffles me that the creator not just wrote the story but also decided to release it to the public as a manga AND a anime.
If you have watched Mirai Nikki, then you pretty much watched a much better version of Platinum End. Its absolutely crazy to me, to the point that I wonder if the writer just straight up went senile and decided to copy Mirai Nikki plot, just changing
...
a few details.
Theres just nothing salvageable about this other than the nice artstyle. Its well drawn, and thats about it. The first episode was already weak, but I gave it a fair chance and kept watching, expecting it to get better, and it never did.
In fact, at around episode 8 or 9 I was legit hating myself for wasting my time with this absolute garbage. And it just gets worse with each new episode.
The ONE thing I actually liked in Platinum End was the angels. But thats only because the artist in me was really in love with their designs, as they are probably the best looking angel characters I have seen in anime.
Do not be like me and waste your time watching this.

Even though I`ve been watching anime since childhood, Code Geass is one of the few popular anime that I just never bothered to watch. It was my girlfriend`s favorite anime, and she sang it`s praises to me many times but I never gave it a chance, and sadly I eventually got spoiled about the last episode, which probably made me care even less about the anime.
But recently I finally decided to sit down and watch it to the end, no matter how good or bad it would be. Fortunately for me, it ended up being an amazing watch and I very much enjoyed my time,
...
even though my expectations were over the roof. But of course, to me no story is perfect, and Code Geass was no different. The writing had many flaws and a lot of episodes were extremely unnecessary and kinda interrupted my overall enjoyment of the main plot sometimes.
Though by far my BIGGEST complaint is about how convenient the writing was sometimes. So many times characters would coincidentally be at the right place, at the right time, and with a conveniently placed object that they needed there as well. I just despise when writers do these things, as its lazy and anyone can do that, and while I understand most viewers do not mind those things, I do and I can`t just turn off my brain to ignore it. Still, the overall story was good enough that I could forgive those scenes and move on.
Now that I have talked about what I disliked the most, I can safely say that this anime deserves all the praise I heard it get over the years. Especially Lelouch, who really turned out to be one of the best anime protagonists I have ever seen. I fully expected some genius and flawless characters that never fails, but thankfully I was very wrong about that. Even though I think that for a high school student he should have been way more affected by the serious situations he finds himself in all the time, his emotions were portrayed well enough, and the character development he goes through was pretty satisfying to watch. And about the other main characters, I think they were also well done. They all had their backstory, and I feel their personality and actions made sense. Even some minor characters eventually had their place in the spotlight, even if just for a short time. Though a couple characters were obviously just made for filler and their presence hurt the plot more than improved it, but it was just for a couple episodes.
Another point I must talk about is the artstyle. I will be honest, I never liked it, especially NOW that I am an artist myself. The characters bodies are just drawn too long and skinny, which for me took a long time to get used to. But I guess that`s just Clamp`s style, and while I really like some of the female characters, I think this series would have been much better drawn by other artists.
Anyway, I could go on but to make things short, I can just say that I think Code Geass is a MUST watch for any anime fan. It`s a very mature story consisting of themes like war, racism, love, drugs, death, all which I am always happy to see in my anime and games. I feel it could have been much better with some parts done differently, but it is what it is.
Sadly, nowadays you just don`t see anime like this anymore, so maybe it was for the best that I waited till now to watch it. That way I can appreciate it even more.

Billy Bat is a story about a cartoon character, and how the history of humanity was affected by said character.
If this already interests you, then I recommend to just go read it right away. This is a amazing manga to read, but I know its probably not for everyone. The story is like a big mystery that creates more questions than it answers, which to me is the one problem I had with this manga.
I truly enjoyed the read all the way through, but lets say the answers I got in the end werent enough for me. I understood it, but I expected
...
more. Which funny enough, I am pretty sure was intentional.
Of course, that did not ruin the journey for me. Reading Billy Bat is like going on a trip through time, and you see not just original characters but also real life people and the writers view of their personalities, as well as real life issues like racism, war, discrimination, etc.
Theres not much else to say without spoiling, so I will end this by again recommending anyone interested to go read it right away.
