If you're here after watching Season 1 and thinking "Why Would I even bother?" then I am here to help you.
I want to start and say that this season is almost un-comparable to the first one. Maybe by looks, since it's the same animation, but almost everything else is better in this one than it was in the first.
I'll be short and specific with this, as I want to just get the basic info out and not have this be 5000 pages.
The story is in such a better spot. Everything is better. Character development, the story telling itself, the card fights, the
...
movement from emotional to serious and back to more comedic sides. The show got funnier, the characters got more lovable, the story makes more sense, just everything is better.
Art is the same, still amazing.
Sound is the same, if not better. The music is just amazing in this show, the opening, ending, scenes with music, just about everything. Side note, but the main "villian" girl who can't see, her song is just absolutely stunning.
Character is like definitely a 10 pretty much, all the characters have some kind of feeling or improvement, its just amazing.
Enjoyment I think is up to the viewer, if you're not a Cardfight!! Vanguard player, you may find slightly less joy in this anime overall, since it's hard to understand the movement of some of the cards and stuff, but you can still understand it a little as the show definitely provides amazing visuals for everything, I think if you are a player of Cardfight!! Vanguard, you might enjoy this more, as everything is more calculated, intense, funny, and just overall more enjoyable and if you know what the cards do then I feel you'll have even more fun as the fight scenes in this season are a S O L I D.
Overall? I think this is a solid 8(a 9 for me personally, but 8 to the general public). Mainly because I don't think a show like this is for *everyone*, but it is close! It's been awhile since I've truly enjoyed a cardgame anime, and this is also by CLAMP for the art design, so there is just a lot to enjoy for me as a person, but I can see someone else maybe having a little bit of a falling. HOWEVER, if you watched season 1, and want something more, this is definitely the show for you, if you even enjoyed Season 1 a little bit, Season 2 should blow you away. It's been blowing the community away, so I hope whoever out there tries it out even with Season 1 being a bust.
That's all I got, hope you enjoy an amazingly well animated show about cards, emotions, friendship, battles, hardships, funny parts, and more! <3
Regards,
A Fellow Card Lover <3

Wow. Let's discuss this show. I'll try my best to not include spoilers because this is a show you want to watch from start to finish with your own thoughts.
Story~10
The story of this show is unique, but yet a simple concept. Death is the primary focus and being judged after your death. I don't want to give too much away as the first episode on its own explains everything so well, and not knowing what's going on is the beauty of it. But pretty much the whole topic is death and what comes after it. The show does a very good job of explaining
...
it, through actions, experiences, characters, events that happen through out, in their way of how they view it. The show comes off "episodic" meaning every episode is different and doesn't relate very much to previous, but that is not true, the show definitely grows and expands the further you go in.
Art~10
The art is very nice. The style of the art is solid too. The characters all have a nice feel, some colors contrast very well, there is definitely a color scheme going on, and it is done on purpose which only makes everything come together even better.
Sound~10
This is without a doubt a 10. The opening, the ending, the music in between scenes are all amazing. There are scenes where the music makes the entire scene just perfect. This is probably what got me sucked into the show to begin with, the opening is just so good and the scenes that follow as you watch go so well with the music being provided, the ending song does an amazing job of making you feel, as some scenes really grow in depth and emotion.
Character~9
The characters in this show are really well done. There are times where you'll only see certain characters for a short time and even within that time the show does such a good job of you feeling for those characters. With this in mind, the characters that do stay longer, makes you feel for them even more too. I don't think there is a character in a show I don't feel something towards, no character feels blank or useless, everyone plays a role, the only reason this even has a 9 is because this is a 12 episode show, there wasn't enough time to expand on certain characters, and I wish there was, as some characters and their actions were just amazing to watch.
Enjoyment~10
This show will make you go through a lot of emotions and that's what makes it incredibly enjoyable. Laughing, crying, sorrow, sympathizing, disagreeing with certain actions, agreeing with certain actions, smiling, it's all there. The show does not fail to give you emotions and that's what makes it so good. There will probably even be relatable scenes, things you yourself will be like "you're right, I went through that, it sucks" which only deepens the bond between you the viewer and the show.
Overall~10
I originally had this at a 9, but thinking about it more, it should be a 10. I will admit, this show is probably not for everyone. It explores some deep concepts and is very deep from beginning to end, it's a very heavy show and will explore your inner desires and thoughts of how you feel about death. With all that being said, it may be too heavy or too deep or too serious for some, as the show does not let go of it's seriousness for majority of it. For those who prefer more light shows, I wouldn't recommend this one.
The reason I almost put it at a 9 is mostly just due to that fact that there is definitely more to the show, like there are some things left hanging, and this is seen from episode to episode, which means there are unanswered questions, but because the show itself presented so well, I believe it deserves a 10. With the way the story is, it's very easy to mess things up, but the creators did not fail, and created something pretty close to a masterpiece.
Hope this helps and thank you for reading (:

This anime is definitely unique. And if that's what you are looking for at the moment, this is an anime to add to your watchlist.
The story is unusual, rather heavy at times, and just plain different. I don't want to give too much away as part of the beauty of this anime is not having any idea what you are getting yourself into. Keep in mind to not let the first 10 minutes stray you away, as the protagonist comes off very weird at first since his interests in romance is not the ordinary.
I will care to admit that the story does take the
...
time to into the backgrounds of some individuals, which in my opinion, was pleasing to see.
I will also admit one downside to the story, and it's the only thing keeping me from putting this to a 9 overall. There is a minor love triangle thing going on, and with how much is going on in the story, as a viewer, I cared WAY more for everything BUT the love triangle, the story is just so full of all these different things and really shines that for someone who normally does love the romance, I did not care for in this anime, at least the 3rd counter part to the love triangle, I definitely enjoy the two main people though.
The art is decent, it's not anything you haven't seen before, it's pretty generic, the main girl n story is nice to look at though, and the fan service can be high at points but not disappointing.
The sound is okay, there isn't anything too striking in terms of music except for maybe the more heavy, depressing parts in the anime.
The characters are very likeable! There is one character in the entire show I am not a fan of, but it's mostly because of what the purpose of the character is than the actual character itself. But I won't spoil.
Enjoyment, hmm, it's good. The anime is seriously good, it's definitely more underrated than I think it should be.
I will warn though, if you are not a fan of blood, or a show being more open to expose blood and organs, I do not recommend watching this, however it is not a main aspect of the show, but it is rather present in the first few episodes, so that's not something you're into you can either stop now, or try to get by the more morbid scenes.
I would gladly recommend this anime for most people though, check it out :)

This show is ok.
It's not terrible, and the characters in the show are actually very enjoyable, however that is the best part about the show.
If you're looking for a show that really pushes the physical end of things, then this show is probably for you.
If you're looking for a show that expresses massive solid story and really good character development then this isn't it.
However, if you are huge Shounen Ai fan, and love seeing two men go through their relationship in a sexual matter then you'll probably enjoy it.
The show is just not my cup of tea, I do love the characters and
...
the comedy behind it and that's why I finished it because the comedic appeal is rather enjoyable and the music in the show is pleasing.

If you're asking yourself, "should I watch this?", the answer is probably yes. And I'll explain why.
--I will warn that this is a girl x girl show, it's not insanely heavy like others (Strawberry Panic for example), there are dudes in the show, there is definitely even some couples who are straight, but the focus is on girl x girl. If you're ok with that, then keep reading haha--
If you are a person who likes a show that has symbolism behind it, this show is for you, while it's not the easiest to catch, the anime is loaded with symbolism, which is what personally
...
drew me in. One example I can give without spoilers, is there is a scene where two characters are with little sparklers for fireworks and they're both sitting with one and as they talk about their emotions the sparklers keep going out, but as they confront their feelings more, the sparklers go out less and less, indicating they're emotionally getting better. There are other scenes like this in every episode.
If you are a person who like music, this show is for you too. I believe the music in this show was really good. It's well done with the scenes and makes you feel for the characters as you go. The music was one of the early things that drew me.
If you like conflict, pretty much constantly, this show gives that too. There is lot of conflict with self reflecting and while things seem ok you notice characters constantly bump into their own personal issues and fears and walls they have, it makes the show feel more alive and relate-able.
If art is your thing, the art in this show is good too, especially the eyes. There are points where I was completely taken away by the animation, it's not as consistent as some shows, the animation isn't always 100% amazing, but when it is, it's very beautiful to watch.
The characters in this show, and the flow of the story, is the only thing that's not the greatest. I feel like the characters take a second to develop and the pace of the story can be a tad tedious, though I went through the show in almost one sitting, I was a little let down by some things which is why I keep this at a 9 and not a 10.
I do think its worth the watch as the show gives so much feelings and makes your heart warm watching others also struggle with the concept of "love", it is always a hard topic and this show explores it well and does not fail to show that love is hard to understand and to show.
Goodluck, hope you enjoy :)
