Kobato is not for everyone and im going to tell you why in a brief overview

Story 8

The story was original and sounded fantastic to me, however they could have done more with it. The story had its ups and downs first few episodes had me rolling and i really enjoyed them, then somewhere through the middle it got a little repetitive and somewhat old. Dont get me wrong it was still good but the ending is what made this very good. nice ending to an overall nice anime it really made the middle episodes worth it.

Art 10

Im sure you have read other reviews on ... this and im not the biggest art guy but kobato's Art was Fantastic. i would feel bad not giving this section a 10, it was just beautiful to look at and i would say alot of people will watch this just to see the Art.

the music was nice it really fit the mood great, the OP and ED were nice as well as the song Kobato sings along with fujimoto playing the piano/organ.

Characters 8

Kobato was lovely in fact my new crush and iroyogi was a great comedy relief that kept the pass going and made this anime. fujimoto was ok nothing special but he does shine brightly in the last 3 episodes. I just absolutely feel in love with Kobato, if i could i would out here in anything and the same goes for the Plushie haha. If you substituted those two with any other type of character this would be horrible.

It really made feel good after watching this, the only reason it isnt higher is due to the middle it was average, and the reason its this high is because the ending if you watch you will understand as well as the character that made this.

IF! you switched half the guys for girls people would say this is one of the best romance anime's to date. That is how good this story, and anime are!

Okay here is a little background on me, I am a Straight male with no interest in men or for even watching a BL series, However there might be a few people out there who's Girlfriends really want to watch this so..... they FORCE you to watch this (which ... is what happened to me.) Before i watched this i knew what it was and i had a feeling i knew where it was going to go. well at first try i almost couldnt stand what was going on, i thought to myself OMG RAPE! and turned it off. then about two weeks later i then tried (got forced) to watch it again. To my surprise i enjoyed this, and very much so.

Story 9
Its very simple but very powering with alot of colorful words. its about three homosexual couples how they live there daily lives, some knew they were gay and accept it, it also shows the people that dont really know if they are gay, or even what being gay really means. It shows there struggle through acceptance, denial, and their love for one another.

* If you dont mind yaoi then this is a most watch, this was my first one. IF you like great romance stories with fun characters and sexually funny moments this is for you. IF the thought of two guys disturbs you in any way then i would try the first episode and see what you think

Art 7
The art, well its art. this has just the right amount for what its trying to accomplish. I cant give this a higher score because there is no need for the Art to be off the charts its a Rom/Com. they charcter designs were nice some of the guys looked the same so that didnt help any, i did however enjoy the silly faces misaki made when he freaked out, when the humor comes so does the silly drawings which were nice and a refreshing change from a typical romance style art.

* IF you must have Brotherhood type Art or a style classic like Mononoke or and art that has an old school vibe like bebop this isnt for you, this is a typical and averagely average Art style.

Sound 8

I cant say it was really typical but it wasnt overly aggressive. The OP and ED were decent nothing great, once again pretty average, the music throughout was the same, however when it needed music the most it got it. Every sappy love speech or new revelation they encountered the music fit wonderfully.

* Not a mozart score by any means, also not some Glee infested over hype. I dont really think theres much to say, but just to be safe if your looking for an awesome blow me over feel from the music and how it makes the whole mood better it does this decently. so if you a sound type of guy/girl not for you.

Characters 9/9.5

They were fantastic, i swear misaki is a tsundere... i dont know if thats how it works but whatever. you could clearly tell after a few episodes who wore the pants and who wore the mini skirt in the relationships. The characters were cute, funny, and dramatic what kept me from saying 10 was the over dramatic parts. most of the time the characters pulled of the role great and really shined but every half dozen episodes it was just to overplayed. The last couple to be declared really surprised me as well it also added in some nice background drama that i thought was pretty interesting and cant wait to see who they work out and how the other characters work out there relationships.

* Well this is a BL series so for obvious reasons if you cant get past that you wont like this, if you can do what i did and just treat the "weaker man" as the women you will be happy with this series. I think if you watch this it will be hard to say anything negative about these wonderful characteres.

at first i really did not like this, it started of awkwardly with a little mis communication along with other things. Then after that moment passed i really started to get into this and found myself really wanting the relationships to develop. just really great.

Im going to cut to the chase on this review.

THIS DOESNT EVEN HAVE AN ECCHI TAG ON IT! look and see know where does it say that. That is what i want to say to every, just because there in little to nothing doesnt mean ecchi. there and no boobs flying around, or bouncing as they are fighting. AND That is what people think when they see the art work on this site.

yes i would say this is a diamond in the rough. And I know why it is. Just from looking at the art that is attached to this you will see women barely ... clothed and say Oh its gonna be some stupid ecchi show with very little story well. In fact

The story is decent not the best, it starts to pick up towards the end however the beginning sets the entire ending up to be a good one. Just to say i did enjoy this great character developments along every episode the twists and turns of the main protagonist. the last 4-5 episodes are very good and yeah it might have been a little predictable but its okay, it was a heartwarming story that just made me feel good after seeing all the episodes.

The art was fair i thought nothing great just about as average as you could get so if you are big into how it looks this isnt for you, its got an old school feel to it so if you like bebop, GTO style art then you might want to check this out.

Sound was another meh not great not bad just luke warm i thought, not really much to say. The op was good the Ed was not, but sound is not a big deal breaker for me but for some this might be the deal breaker.

characters, what to say about them..... Great, honestly the character were lovable, violent, strong, weak, you basically had every type of character you could have thought of in this anime. yeah they are wearing almost nothing during there mission's but i enjoyed it, i mean it wasnt like there boobs were bouncing around or anything like that.

my enjoyment was about a 7 give or take some decimal points depending how far along the anime was. when i sat back and added everything up my overall score would be a 7 this should get more looks than what it has the score well lets say it sould be about a 7.5 not in the 6's i would almost guarantee people didnt even finish this and just gave it a 2 or 3 just because they can starch at it and say "it was a crappy fanservice show" when in fact it wasnt.

IF you like police work, bounty hunter types of anime mixed in with some nice female characters, and a pretty decent story with some funny situations you should check this out.

You know how Kids buy things what looks good and what looks bad. it has nothing to do with the product but if it has flames and a so called epic look? well thats what people have done to this for to long and ill admit i did it too.

Peopel read this and saw it sounds meh nothing special and they look at it with no information of the actual series and think Oh there is a pink mecha and a green mecha. well in fact they are not mechas they are just suits to help the heros. Is this overrated no, is this underrated... ... well to some degree yes. this should be more popular and it should have a great following becuase it is just that good. I will now explain.

Story: 9

its a pretty simple little story, there is a tv program that revolves around heroes. these heroes get points for arrests, saving people, and any other hero deed. But that is not all the story is for everyone reading this. this story includes murder mysteries, love and relationship issues, the values of family and friends and Trust in one another. This story breeds fantastic morals with emotional highs and all time lows with conflict and struggle between heros and villains and even hero between hero. Where this story is so simple its hard to be bad but also hard to be good because its so simple. But this story does wonderful things and will make you feel nostalgic for what ever reason. And for every hero league the is an evil organization called.....well you will have to watch to find out the rest haha.

Art: 9

The art is very good, the suits the heroes wear and they way they move, attack, its just good. the mellow moods and tense battles all have the same effect and same presence. it just works very well with the overall development of the story and the overall super powers, relaxing family moments, and stressful environments.

Sound: 8

As i have said in other reviews sound only really matters when it either doesnt fit with the situation or its so annoying that you cant concentrate. the sound is typically suspenseful when there is a struggle and typically low key when there isnt much going on, be it family times or just the sweet random nothings.

Characters: 10

The character for me are what made this anime. Tiger and Barnaby a.k.a. bunny are the two main characters that revolve the story. Tiger is the veteran and most would say he has lost his touch and is more of a hazard than a help. He upholds the old school superhero mentality and not the new school mind set. He is more concerned about saving other people than racking up points, he even tries to keep his identity a secret as older heros wanted, he is a kind, hardworking, and overall great and trustworthy person and will leave you saying he is the man, he will be on my favorites. Barnaby Brooks Jr is also a main character who is focused on getting points and making his name sell he is also known as bunny. Like every hero story he has a dark past and is trying to solve the mysteries that haunt him in episode 1 as well as the last episode. Tiger and Bunny both share the 100 power and become the first hero team in hero tv history. the rest of the cast is still interesting but not much is really known about them, blue rose is more of a pop start than hero, she then falls in love with a certain hero, origami cyclone is just a side character whos power is interesting and he is often seen in the back ground usually when blue rose arrives. sky high is mr perfect but has his own struggles as you will eventually see. rock bison is tigers long time friend. if you watch and give this a chance you will see the rest of the characters as well as the criminal organization.

Ejnoyment: 10

heroes vs villains with great action, sentimental moments with sure genius and loving sweet moments that will overall move you to the next episode. I Take enjoyment as how much did i like/love it right after watching, and for how long can i remember the characters. both of these are very strong feelings for me and i really enjoyed this XD

I wont bore you with the same info over and over again, but just to be clear great characters, simple plot, nice overall finish, and heartwarming moments from beginning to end the will make you sympathize with every character, more people should give this a chance and you should watch this you wont regret it.

People will always ask other people what to watch, recommend me something, im so bored what should i watch. People will also say is there ever going to be another masterpiece like Brotherhood or when is something going to become as popular as Death note. What will have the sheer guts to move me to the next episode, to make me want to watch and not go to sleep. WHAT anime is going to be the next big thing and blow my mind for days, weeks, months and even years. well its two simple words and for people to know that ... these two simple words mean nothing but everthing, Steins;Gate.

This Will be a classic anime in the years to come, people will still talk about great anime's like Death Note, Brotherhood, Code Geass and Suzumiya Haruhi, however they will be talking about Steins;Gate as well.

Story: 10

IF you watch 3 episodes of this you will not need a time machine to see how good this can be, will be, and is. The story revolves around Okabe Rintarou or the Mad Scientist. One day after seeing a certain predicament, he finds himself in a loop. The cause, a make shift time machine that will send his texts back in time. He then finds out the first message has altered the future in a big way. After that he then helps his fellow friends by making there dreams come true. The only problem is he will now have to skip between time lines to make everything right. He then finds out he is blessed with a certain power that helps him between jumps and after jumps through time. This stories base is certainly not that original, a time machine has been done in tv, anime's, movies and so on. The difference lady/gentle otakus, the execution of the story mixed with comedy and all together random moments. It has a serious plot line with comical sub plots that eventually tie the story in a nice little ball for all people to see.

Art: 9

This might just be me being biased but the art was great. It fit with the character designs and semi futuristic vibe towards the end and everything in between. Im not trying to say its spectacular or you need to watch this anime just for the Art, It simply fits with the overall masterpiece that is Steins;Gate. The Art goes from a little bubbly at times that fits with the nonchalant help my lab members to dark and twisted, with half trippy vibes you get from the time machine factor.

Sound: 9

Im at a loss on what to say here, the sound just works. But out of all honesty you will be to focused on what is going on to even realize the shrills and bravado that is going on. I gave this a 9 based on the fact it works with the moods, character development and overall enjoyment of the show. Also because there was never a time when the music pissed me off and distracted me from watching which is hard to do in most anime's, the sound is either to loud, noisy, or just doesn't fit the bill with some bubble gum pop rock garbage. when you watch you will understand what im trying to convey.

Characters: 10

It just has to be, it just does. i wont even say 1 episode it will only take FIVE MINUTES for you to realize this is a crazy cast of different types of characters all meshed into a group almost like how Durarara!! was. Lets start the Bar with Okabe, the main character. He is over the top shatter the mold "mad scientist", Feelings of ups and downs insanely crazy and moronic to insanely brilliant and sharp. solving different parts to the puzzle, piecing the facts together, live and death struggle and impossible choices that are choose impossibly well. CHRISTINA!!!! or Kurisu Makise. The zombie, and perverted genius girl celebrity. 17 years old and a genius. (she also looks good in a lab coat MUAHAHAHA) she is with out a doubt a huge piece of the puzzle she is the Glue to this anime. She is first seen in the first episode in a sort of "bad" situation. she makes this story possible. Next Do Do Do DO Mayuri. I said Kurisu was the glue... i might have to take that back, when the story starts out you seen her for who she is and when its finished its the same good hearted girl that you will come to love. Every time she was on the screen i could not look away, she fascinated me from start to finish with her bright personality and sometimes to nice of a person, she is one of the better better female characters in my mind and the sad thing is she is not the best girl in this anime as you will see. Lets review the previous characters and characters i haven't mentions in bulk shall we. mad scientist that is crazy, lazy, good for nothing, sane, brilliant good for the world type of guy. 17 year old genius tsunedere with alot to prove nothing to gain, then nothing to prove everything to gain, gain and loss type. bubbly cute, happily funny, adorable and nice Mayuri. a Fat NEET Otaku suuupppa hacka with a maid complex. A most of the time cross dressing man, some times not so gross dressing women/man who is a shrine maiden with a hard crush and sometimes Broken heart. Moe cosplay maid fancy rich girl who has nothing while at the same time has everything but would rather have one thing than everything. future girl who sometimes knows everything, looking for her father when he is under her nose. A average store owner who is not so average nice but hard on rent then mean and murderous. Ok take all that into consideration and try to put those characters in any other anime and make it work.... you tired and failed why, because it can not be done.

Child Please! twist's and turns, abnormally fantastic character development, surprisingly simply and complex at the same time. At the end you will be thinking about what was said for weeks to come, it has been months since i have watched this and i remember it so very clearly. That is the sign of a great anime.

Final thought...

WATCH! or else there wont be any time machines in the future! and we all want time machines, this deserves its score, its not some hyper inflated anime that has been made up from hype. watch, listen, read, learn..... you must do it John Titor said so.
