This is something that I think everyone should watch. It not only gives you a good representation of who we can thank for where we are today, but also how far we've come. With that said, here is a bit of a review.
Story: 6 Without spoiling it, it's another historical animation, with a bit of good action and a story that you will at least find a bit interesting.
Art: 7 It might seem weird giving this a 7, but for 1939, you've got to consider the limitations, and how what you are watching isn't so much about the shine or the sparkles, but
...
about making something fun and interesting within the limitations allotted.
Sound: 6 There was some skipping, but so what, have you seen some of the Anime today? There are some messed up voice acting in those as well, and what is their excuse?
Character: 7 A rather likable "hero-ish" character that was someone you could understand more if you'd watched it back then and from the country where the source material was made. Otherwise, he is a character that you can at least root for.
Enjoyment: 5 Although it is fun to see how far we've come, it isn't going to blow you away. It felt like a history lesson, fun for those who love history and wish to learn more about how we got here, but also a bit dull after realizing how far we can still go haha.
Overall: 6 Again, worth the watch, if anything to be more grateful for the anime we have today. But if you go in expecting to learn something and still have a decent story, you won't be disappointed!

This review requires a bit of backstory, which I will shrink down into about two sentences, which will also sell this show: "Hey random Anime watchers, did you just finish 91 days but thought 'hey, wish I could have more stupidly funny scenes of Angelo and Nero just kind of getting on each other's nerves? No, well then just watch it to put a complete next to the whole series then, ok..."
Story: 7 There were some funny parts, and then some episodes that nearly put me to sleep. The 7 was both for the rate of good comedy to bad comedy... and because I
...
really needed to get some sleep that night.
Art: 6 I've seen plenty of chibi specials... and this is about the quality you'd get from them. Other than that, I remember a lot of pink backgrounds and maybe one piece of important furniture per episode.
Sound: 5 Unfortunately, I can't remember anything that impressive sound-wise coming from this special, which is a shame considering how many good songs there were in the actual series.
Character: 8 Angelo and Nero trolling... yeah, they were good character in the series...so it follows.
Enjoyment: 8 Might be the only one here who thought it, but it was fun watching some of the interactions in these shorts. Not gonna waste your whole day binge watching anyways so.
Overall: 7 Like I said, if you liked the regular series, then a few special shorts aren't going to kill you to watch, and who knows, you might just get a kick out of angry chibi Nero or Angelo!

So, did you ever have a language teacher that played a song for you in a different language that you'd never heard before and the whole time, your face was stuck between 'I hope she can't tell I'm terrified' and 'Please help me'? That would be these three minutes of 'music'
Story: 4 It's about 44 cats singing. Weird that I've seen weirder, but still bizarre because well...it's 44 cats singing.
Art: 5 Honestly, for the time it was made, and the target audience, which is kids, it isn't bad. Nothing to write home about, but not bad.
Sound: 6 Good enough to get stuck
...
in a kid's mind for a long time, yet not good enough to get through a random bout of self-imposed amnesia haha (which is what it will take to get rid of this song!)
Character: 4 Couldn't give it a 44 or 4.4 but I guess just representing one digit is enough right?
Enjoyment: 2 Watched it at night... couldn't get it out of my head for about an hour. Would recommend watching early in the morning before a long day.
Overall: 4 So, being as it's for kids, I would say that it did its job for the audience that it intended for it to be seen by. However, that's as far as I'd go, this one isn't following you into later years of interest. (Hopefully, right? deshou...? hahaha)

When searching for quick time wasters, one usually searches for something that is funny, memorable, maybe even a bit interesting. I would have to say that 001 combines all of these very well.
Story: 6 To avoid spoilers, it was better than what I've seen some full Anime make in five episodes, and this had 37 seconds so.
Art: 7 Very simple art design leaves it to the imagination to fill in the color and the world around it.
Sound: 7 Starts off with realistic sound effects that are quickly replaced by random sounds that bring a hint of comedy to a rather dark concept.
Character:
...
5 Not a lot of characters that are notable here. They all basically do the same, just different sound effects. However, the characters weren't detrimental to the show so... five!
Enjoyment: 8 I mean, it was 37 seconds! If you can find something more impressive that only takes 37 seconds, then I'd like to know!
Overall: 7 As this is my first review, I decided to pick a small show that wouldn't be very difficult to explain. It isn't going to waste your time, but the one thing that it will do is make you think about it until you find the next anime series! Overall, it does what it's supposed to, so it isn't bad!
