Both plots develop in the meta space of Korakuen Hall. Now, seriously, both series have similar characters, even though the sport of both shows drive them to pretty different developments, since boxing is a sport that consist mostly of being better than the other sportsman on the ring, this allows a relationship of deciding who is the most strong and intelligent boxer between both participants, while competitive dancing is more of having an intense synchronicity with your partner, this allowing relationships that are built on a foundation of trust and fellowship, sometimes even love. The humour is also very different, but both are hilarious shows, Ippo being a lot more vulgar and over the top, while Ballroom's being a lot lighter.

Both share a light-hearted tone and some beautiful lovely comedy, sure Tsurezure was shorter and had more characters, but the whole experience, specially with one couple is really similar.

They are not really similar in their execution, but both animes depict well the importance of relationships, and how you shouldn't f*ck up when loving someone, also, I think both are very realistic, sure, School days has its harem, but I guess that what Makoto did, was what almost every horny teenager out of his mind would do if he had all those chicks at his hand. Tsuki ga kirei depicts a nice light hearted portray of healthy school romance, with its problems and loveable learning, so both animes show how real life people feelings work like, and there's where I find the big similarity.

Both have a really similar atmosphere even tho I consider Just Because much better in every detail. Both have various relationships. Both have a really slow pacing. Just Because has an overall better draw and animation, so if you watched Konbini Kareshi and you liked it, you should be ok with this one. If you watched Just Because first, you should watch KK only if you... I don't know it is not that good, but that doesn't mean they are not pretty similar series.
