Other than the similar colour schemes between the Earth Engine and the Nirvash Type 0, both of these shows have several easy parallels that you can make. If you liked the mech designs from either shows, the following one could indeed tickle your fancy. Both have the story of a boy wanting to become hero after following the death of their father having being branded a hero. Both have a really similar atmospheric feel to them which is : Living in Summer. Both are Studio Bones Mecha, so it definitely will look amazing art and animation wise. Both have really similar romance plotlines of star crossed lovers who are meant to be with each other. Like any other mecha shows, its about the coming of age of a young boy. These two shows differ from the norm by having a more boyish type of characters instead of being melodramatic or being The Master. Both of these shows have similar themes of Family and Trusting each other. Which show did it better? It is up for you to decide :) The tonality of both of these shows are similar. They have a slice of life and living the life of a boy doing boyish things aspects to them. These two shows differ as Eureka Seven is a 50 episodes show about a boy who grows up, falls in love and discovers the reality of life whether it be politics, war, refugees and human disgusting-ness, whereas Captain Earth is a 25 episodes show about a boy who discovers friendship and family, while taking responsibility in life.

Though this story is rather different from Clannad. It has the same level of emotion. I'd say it's like as if someone where to condense Clannd into 11 episodes, it would give you Anohana. It's basically a story about Friendship, rather than Romance, which, I feel touches a wider audience, and the backlash of losing something (or someone -spoliers-) who you hold dear. After watching Clannad, and you feel like finding an anime to fill in that void, look no further, because Anohana, WE FOUND YOU!
