Like stated in the movie and the trailer a bit, 'I don't know'.

I don't know how to feel about this movie. I didn't absolutely love it, but I didn't hate it. I almost walked out of the theater, but was happy I didn't. I do not think that it deserves a 10/10 as much as some of the other films I have seen, but it does not deserve a low or average score. I took a shower to try and put my thoughts together, but I just can't.

If you have the chance to see it, do it.

Probably one of the biggest things that ... impacts me is just how hard it is for motherhood and how much it makes you appreciate your mother to the infinite degree. So +1 on that.

The big issues I have with this is following how Maquia feels. Being a young 22 year old male, that has no child I cannot understand how Maquia feels to the full effect I think intended.

At the early raid scene, there is suggested pedophilia rape of the people, which heavily heavily makes me want to stop and leave. Do not know why that was said or kept at all.

The movie time wise, moves really fast for a very long time slows then speeds up. I didn't like just how fast it moved with Ariel and his mother Maquia on the fact it went so fast to where he is now a dad, then jumps to the point of him dying and showing what she, and he left behind. I cried at this point and thinking about it and writing makes me tear up and still cry.

There is this dude that for some reason appears then just disappears at random, who is really not important, but the few moments he is on screen he is super important.

Leiria is forced to bear a child with a mental kings son thinking they could create eternal life in the kingdom. She goes crazy after having this child and becomes a prisoner and not being able to see her only attachment to the world. Near the end, she finally sees her daughter who looked to be around 8ish, basically says hi, then leaves to her home and says "I will forget you. I won't write you. don't remember me." and the child smiles and accepts this, pretty much acknowledging how messed up her kingdom was to her, and her mother.

Koe no Katachi is an amazing movie. I am happy that I finally was able to watch it after so long.

Koe no Katachi was a very touching and inspiring movie. I think that this really did an amazing job in not only telling a story, but teaching us to listen. From the trailer they caught me not only with the amazing visuals, but also, with saying "What does it take to fit into a world that won't hear you? Where finding acceptance seems to be impossible? What does it take to find redemption? Sometimes the answer is as ... simple as learning to listen." That is a powerful statement. I feel they really nailed this well.

The one thing that was a little difficult for me was, I was expecting to ball my eyes out like a little baby, and like in Kimi no Na Wa,Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, Clannad AS, Ano hi mita hana Music increases the emotions. In Koe no Katachi, music is there, but it isn't. That is the point of this movie, teaching you to listen and understand how important it is to listen. Understanding and accepting is hard to do, but some people are not granted the gift of hearing, thus teaching you to listen. I didn't cry like a little baby unfortunately, but it probably will tomorrow. *edit second time watching I did tear up in some key scenes. I think it was just as powerful and a bit more eye opening the second time around. I don't think you need to watch it twice, but would recommend it for understanding.

I do think, this movie is not for everyone. I would love to say that it is more than ok for the younger audience, however, there are some serious topics in this movie and I think a lot of it would go unnoticed due to some being in that situation, or being too young to understand the meaning of this movie. There are a lot of deep meanings and understanding that. I do not think that the younger generations could actually understand due to being younger and some being in this very phase. I would love to have the younger ones watch this, but I do not think that the message would transfer over that well with them.

I was a little disappointed with this a bit due to the trailer. I thought this would be a full on Shoujo with full on romance, and I wish it was, but it isn't. I loved this so much but there were times where I just wanted to be Sebastian from the little mermaid. None the less, I would give this a 9/10 due to not having that happen, but this does deserve a 10 for telling an amazing story and telling it so well. Definitely going to buy this if it ever comes out in the US.... stupid US market :(

I'm not sure if I am allowed to swear, but this anime was shit.

I sat through this entire anime expecting more and got nothing in return. It was a rather mediocre "love" story with really no build, enjoyment or climax and end. Right off the bat it's sketchy, I feel like this anime portrays very bad judgement and what's the right thing to do. I really was sick of the Seto from the start and how weak and selfish he is, it gets worse as you watch more.

Not sure why this is rated R+, or Ecchi because there is no nudity, you see panties ... and hips once, in the entire series, No breasts or anything, so knock that down to PG-13 if that's the only reason. One thing for sure is this anime portrays women's judgement horribly. Not a women myself, but I damn well know women have better judgement than this, or I really hope they know when something doesn't look right.

Really would recommend go watch something else, even for a short film, this is terrible.


I will explain why I think this anime is horrid below explaining why I felt this anime was horrible, this is not big story spoils more about why I hate it, I wouldn't consider this even a spoiler because it plays really no part besides making you hate this anime more.

Iori is nearly get's raped in the first 10 minutes in episode 1. That's not the only time, there are two other scenes where she is almost raped, each time progressively worse. There is terrible judgement on her part and a little bastard that gets her into this position that he has no consequence or anything he gets off without a mention. The main loser, Seto, at one point contemplated not coming to protect her, when he knew she was about to be raped because he was on a "date".

With the description above, the story is rather nice for what it is.

This anime feels a lot like the Chobits series without the length of it. They manage to fill in a lot of the missing background without using a lot of time.

Character development between the two is rather nice for how little time there is. You do not learn a whole lot due to the time constraint, however, this makes due with the time it has.

Art and music play well together and adds to the anime without saying anything.

There is absolutely no difference with this vs the OVA. There is no Movie it ... is just the OVA.

This is a great filler anime if you want to watch a quick story without getting too involved.

The story itself is rather quite good, it isn't massively revolutionary, but not a lot is at this day. For the time that was allotted, character development was rather quite good, if it had a little bit more time I feel that there would be a lot of character development that would indulgent you more into the anime.

I thought that this had a rather well told story, both the art and music were quite nice and added some unspoken words into the mix. I give this a ... 10/10 because of the character development that happened in such little time.

If you have the time recommend to watch it.

This.. This was a waste of my time. I've watched hundreds of horror/suspense movies and anime. This was without a doubt one of the dumbest things I've watched.

First off, You should watch Corpse Party: Missing Footage, That adds about 1 minute of backstory and 10 minutes of grunting, screaming, crying and brutal gore.

There really is little plot in this, I feel it could have been solved out in 2 episodes lasting 20 minutes each if that. It is interesting to see what happened, however, they never fully tell you why. You learn little bits and pieces and you need to put them together ... to figure it out.

Honestly if you want to waste 2 hours watching people get gored that's your business. I do not think this anime deserves this high of a score. writing more of a review on this is rather impossible because there is nothing, nothing you can critique more. Enjoy~

This anime dragged me in for a really late night binge to find a place to stop for the night on episode 6. Did another binge to finish.

I really really liked this anime up until episode 10. Every episode before 10 was easily a 9.5 or 10/10 and I was eating it all up I loved it, so well written and left you wondering and wanting so much more. Then episode 10 hit, it broke a major rule of time travel. After the 10th episode I was so unhappy about the outcome, Yes this is because the romance lover in me wanted Satoru to be ... with the main girl (you'll know who I am talking about when you see past episode 3), I am so so hating the new timeline.

Do not get me wrong this is an amazing anime and it did phenomenal on the story and made it interesting to say the least but, this new timeline was so reminiscent of Rumbling Hearts and I hated how that turned out too. If you have seen that, you most likely can figure out to an extent what is going to happen.

I am really glad I did not watch this as it aired or I would have gone crazy waiting for another episode, this was really a great story and I loved it but the last 2 episodes in my opinion should have been re-written to go back to the not major rule broken timeline. In the end, this anime leaves me wanting way more than it gave me. And honestly, not in the good way, the last 2 episodes just were a giant "Hey you know those feelings you developed and you totally would ship it? Well nope we are going somewhere else so you end up voting us at a 4/10" Seriously I really really hope they do a movie of this anime, but stick to the sub plot (that we all freaking want) Storyboard you know da*n well what I am talking about! DO IT FOR US! YOU KNOW WE WANTED IT!

Would I watch this again? Maybe when I forget what it was about and what not, right now? No I need to go and watch something that serves my romance fanboy addiction.
Recommend? Before episode 10 I was all over it! After episode 10 I am very hesitant to do so.

I ended up watching this because of the abridged, I wish I ended up not watching this at all. This could have been a really good story, but it is completely ruined by just gore, rape and pointless nudity.

This anime really bothered me with pointless killing, constant reusing plots in each episode. It had some good points, but I almost dropped it in episode 6 due to some very disturbing rape of a young girl, and by this I do not mean suggested rape. It literally shows her being raped by 100s of guys and it shows semen all over her legs.

If this ... doesn't make you think about stopping the plan to watch this, it shows another rape scene later on I believe episode 16. Older than the little girl before but still in like middle school. Raped by 4 guys and it shows them screwing her too then they get murdered but still none the less stupidly disturbing.

In the end this was so bad I cannot believe I wasted my time watching it, it is not as bad as school days, but school days did not keep you around for 26 episodes.

When I heard the news of a movie, You do not know how joyed I was. It was in public and embarrassing as all can be. I direly waited and waited to finally see the movie. I just finished it, almost a year after it was release. I don't know, I don't know if this should have been made. Through the whole thing I was waiting to ball my eyes out... NOPE... Well you can hate me all you want for telling it how it is. This being made should not have been a movie. It is 90 minutes the first 50 or so minutes ... DRAG ON AND ON... BUT the last 30ish minutes made me ball my eyes out. There was a scene and BOOM waterfalls. My eyes are just now dying up from the waterfall show. This was great don't get me wrong, but I just don't think they should have done this. It is always a thin line to do something like this with an anime that has a clear cut ending. Although, the thin line present, it is balancing very very carefully. It borders like people wanting a second season of Angel Beats and Air Gear if you understand me. Air Gear being YES SECOND SEASON, and Angel Beats would be ruined. Although this is great and makes you create your own lake, I strongly advise to maybe just... Leave it to your imagination....

This could have been a good romance anime.....
